Very happy with the style and workmanship of the home

My family and I are very pleased with the Pulte Experience

Do not buy a Pulte home unless you like fixing things yourself or having contractors coming and going once you move in. Our home was not nearly complete yet our scheduled closing was fast approaching. We were assured that it would be done in time. Pulte scheduled what they term as a "Build Quality Celebration" AKA final walkthrough 3 days before closing (side note - there was almost zero leeway as to the time and date Pulte required this to be done). The walkthrough was anything but a "celebration". The LACK of quality workmanship and things that were not complete was appalling! We made a list of everything that needed to be fixed or completed in 3 days and let them know that we would not sign closing documents if the home was still a mess. We were informed that we would be in breach of contract if we did not close and that we had 30 days to let contractors into our home for any "punch list" 0repairs. Our question to them was why would we take time off of work and let contractors back in to a bang around, and make a mess when they couldn't get it right the first time? Their response was that they don't send the same people. So they save the GOOD contractors when there are complaints? Seriously? I wish that I could post photos of the shoddy workmanship. If you have dreams of building a new home and think that it will be beautiful when you move it, do NOT buy a Pulte home. ... More

Both my husband and I think that Pulte should consider the following as standards. Prewire, front landscaping, height of toilets. These are just some examples of things that are basic common sense. For the amount of money one is paying, we expected these to be standard.

The woman who handled our purchase has been great and has been very responsive when we brought up concerns. However, the man responsible for our home construction was nice enough, but we are still waiting a month later for him to fix problems noted prior to closing. Though he repeatedly told us that he would be with us for thirty days following closing. The warning about “getting work done before they get your money” could not be truer. He missed two options we had requested. The first was fixed prior to closing. The second was a double sink in the bathroom. There was only one sink installed. He “guaranteed” the correct set up within 4 days. Then it was moved to the next week and then moved again. Finally, we said enough. However, the job we finally got left the bathroom filthy with three areas of the drywall needing attention (which I will end up doing). And now neither the mirror nor the lighting fixture is centered. So we are forced to accepted substandard work because he did not read the plans. We also paid a lot of money for upgraded walls. As we paint the walls, I cannot believe all of the wall prep that I have to do to fill in problems with the drywall and sand down huge areas of paint drips. (I won’t even go into how bad the paint is.) But I will mention the poor workmanship with the baseboards. There are numerous gaps that they attempted to fill with caulk only to even do a bad job with the caulk. Right now, we are dealing with popping noises coming from the canned lights in the kitchen and bathroom, and a loud garage door opener. Looking forward to getting "30 day walk through" issues resolved next week

Pulte homes come with average standard options. The model homes give a false impression of what a Pulte home actually looks like. There are many options to upgrade with prices that are very expensive. The home was built very quickly which was a benefit. However, there were numerous repairs that needed to be made due to poor quality work in some areas. The construction managers were responsive to correcting our concerns.

The house is nice, a few issues were found and are being addressed, quality was overlooked for time it seems in parts of construction. The hoa fees are high, especially for the area, and there so far is no reason for this...no play areas, garbage not included, and a gate that is only closed evenings. Not sure what we’re paying for in regards to hoa
