make sure what model and plane you select, after signing the contract it's difficult to change. Same as design center to choose items.

Experience is what I expected. Pulte associates were very nice. Contractors with big builders can be very hit or miss. Carpenters, plumbers, tile workers, and others did a great job. The painters/drywall workers did a poor job. Drywall seams are clearly visible, paint missing in plenty of spots, and overall messy work.

We'd been searching for new homes for more than a year & visited almost all builders available in our area. We really liked the open plan of Pulte quite a bit. The whole process was reasonably good. As this is a process of creating a complex property, there are going to be some issues. But Pulte team has addressed them reasonably well so far, except for may be 2-3. As this was our first home buying experience, we felt that Pulte should try to allow the following: 1. At least 2 visits to design center for customization of home than 1. 2. At least 2 visits during pre dry wall process than 1.

We are happy with our Pulte home, but there are issues, as there are with most builders. They were on schedule with all the timelines they gave us from the beginning. We liked our sales person Kristen. Ultimately the finishing touches were the only disappointment upon moving in. Floors are not all level, and the vinyl plank floors are rather squeaky because of this. Even some carpeted areas have high points for no apparent reason. Their “canned lights” look to be done in the cheapest possible way. A smaller hole in the ceiling, with a larger and less attractive light overplaying the smaller opening. Some fit and finish issues with doors and paint as well. The neighborhood and lots are great. Overall everything in the house works, and we’re happy with how things turned out. Would just be happier if those smaller fit and finish items were no there, and their warranty policy only allows them to come out one time in that first year to deal with these things, so we’ll be living with them for a while. ... Be sure and review everything carefully. I caught the sales rep with errors particularly with change orders. At one point she asked me to select different cabinets because I changed to built in appliances which I never did. When I received the final closing documents price did not match my final change order. I believe sales rep forgot to submit the last change order. Beware of Procom Pulte's partner for smart home features. Very deceptive practices in order to make more sales after close. Thought I was getting a "system" when all I was getting were speakers. Only allowed in home 1 time during build process ask for more so you can see quality. Ended up with scratches in tub which Pulte stated was not covered under warranty. ... More

Everyone that we've dealt, at Ashwood Crossing Naperville, with has been helpful, timely, available and easy to work with.

Sales - Kristine was really helpful with our questions/concerns. This helped us pick the right options and come to the point of putting the initial deposit down which triggers the start of construction. Builder - Joe was also really helpful and build our house in timely manner answering all the questions we had. Closing experience - We opted with Pulte Mortgage and Derek was also great at guiding us and getting us best rates. Can be done better: 1. Co-ordinating with various parties including Pulte builders, mortgage, escrow to make sure I have everything needed for closing. The onus was on us and we kept getting email updates anytime there were changes made behind the scene. We then had to follow up to understand what changed and what are our obligations. 2. Quality: The quality of material is decent. The wall paint chips off so easily compared to previous places I've rented. I'd have expected a new house built to have a better quality than the places we usually rent. ... More

Building process went very smooth. Would have been a better process if the sales associate was a little more knowledged on their homes.

The buying experience with Pulte on a new home was much better than I expected. Compared with buying an existing home on resale it was much more pleasant.

Process has been great so far with purchasing and construction. Some of the material quality provided is not so great.

Some items needed attending/repairs before closing. Already have nail pops in ceiling. Sloppy painting job.

Good Experience with Pulte homes

Construction Manager was great. The workmanship is ok. In a year I’ll know more.

Our experience has been a mixed bag. Pulte has been pretty good with rectifying issues with our service calls etc. But there have been lot of quality issues we have been needing to address. As long as expectations are tempered and you are patient in the overall process things will get done. Our construct has been a great resource for us throughout the process.

I am very happy with my purchase of a Pulte home. The sales rep & construction managers were great to work dueing the process.

During the buying process, Pulte has been keep me well informed about the progress so I can get everything prepared ahead of the time. Buying house is a very stressful process , especially if you also have to sell your existing house. It takes a lot of carefully planning. Pulte delivered the house on time, even though there's still couple times not done by the time we moved in, but that all been taken care of within couple weeks. In terms of build quality, overall I would said it's very good, there's always some minor issues. But that's true regardless if you buying a condo or a mansion. Pulte didn't deliver everything perfectly (doubt anybody could), but if you keep your expectation within reasonable range, you will be a very happy home owner. ... More
