Extremely Disappointed with New Construction Home Experience

I recently purchased a new construction home more than two months ago, eagerly anticipating the joy of settling into our dream house. Good looking home but too many flaws/imperfections.

The home buying/sales part was ok. Just like a normal buying house process would be. Long story short… the house designs are beautiful and spacious.. I just would think at the price I paid I would expect better than my final product. Inside doors were horribly painted. The plywood boards underneath the floor planks make knocking/clunk noises as you walk around the house. The drywall in almost every room has been sanded down bad. Build quality is not as per standard. The material used is one of the worst. it is available in market with much cheaper ratesAlso, the construction manager never responds after the house is closed. One of the not so good experience.

Post buying experience difficulties

Pulte has bitten off more they can chew. Sales associates rush you through bid process and choosing finishes. Builders are under pressure to finish in a certain time frame, hired workers who do not care about workmanship, and rushed to complete builds in the last days. It shows. Our brand new home already has a running list of work orders to get our home into the shape we would have initially expected. The quality of work in the materials for the price I paid is what really upset us. Issues are notated and the lack of responsiveness to those issues is taking time pose closing. The exterior property like siding, caulking, painting was poorly done. I guess that’s what you get when you have guys working in 10 degree weather so the builder can close, get their money, and put out a poor product. Very frustrating experience

I found the process to be very frustrating. I had a lot of surprises of things that were considered upgrades but that I would have expected were included. I found the field managers nice but not empowered to make hard decisions when it was related to mistakes made in the field.

There is a long list of issues, including faulty Procom Ethernet cables, large divots in the lawn that make it unsafe for play, water leakage in the basement and sunroom, and missing items from documented change orders, among other concerns.

Poor quality and bad experience so far

The walk through was rushed. After moving in, we have experienced many issues. Leaves a very bad taste in our mouths when you pay 700k+ for a home that has leaks, electrical issues, etc. Probably wouldn't recommend Pulte at this point.

I don't think I would ever go with Pulte Homes again in my life. The buying and building process was okay. I'm very very disappointed with the quality of workmanship and materials used in the home even with everything upgraded. I feel like I overpaid by a lot compared to the value I received in the home. Most of the items marked to get fixed during the final walkthrough were not fixed as they had only kept 2 day window between the final walkthrough and the closing. Atleast in my case, i don't think this is the right value for the price i paid. Firstly my house backyard is main road facing and there is no fence provided, typically it should have been provided. Secondly, I just requested for couple of extra bushes to be installed so we don't hear the noise from vehicles and there could be some privacy. My request was denied. Still there are bits and pieces left to fix, it feels sad that giant Pulte constructions is having this trouble fixing the issues requested for. Not the build experience we expected from a company like Pulte

Overall was not the experience we expected, thought Pulte would be a very reputable company to work with; however ran into issues every step of the way. Quality is definitely not to expectations of a luxury home, especially for the price we paid and the neighborhood value. The mortgage process was also very poorly managed, we had to close at a much higher interest rate that could have been avoided. Our home exterior is still incomplete with no line of sight when the exterior and landscaping will be complete.

Cutting Corners Left and Right

Quality of the end product is terrible. When you provide feedback you get yelled at and ignored most of the time as if you have no say. Very poor customer service. Field manager acts as if he is doing you a favor when you approach him with an issue. The contractors make many mistakes and skip important steps in all aspects of the building, if you are not versed in construction you will miss serious issues they create. Very sad!

Our site manager promose get things done nothing done. Most of houseing numbers W missing.Call something to fix take weeks to fix it.Big pormises no excutions. Customers are furestrated, Front desk lady Gina is very good.

Paid more for low quality house

Houses are really built with very poor quality, there are lot of echo and you can hear through walls up stair/downstair, also even slow walk sound as a big bang noise. flush in a bathroom will create noise as if there was a big machine turned on and it is very lound rt below bathrooms (this is a big issue where we have work from home and in the meeting), this itself show how poor quality is.

Cheap Materials and Unclean

I would never build another home with Pulte. The people are nice and the paperwork processes were modern, but the home itself has the cheapest materials and fixtures, with little to no attention to detail. Uneven floors, lumpy yard, hacked cabinets, 40gal water tank for 4 bed, 3,000+ sq. ft. And after all the months of construction seems as if it was only broom swept.

We opted to build a home with Pulte given the limited inventory of available homes on the market. Our friends who built with Pulte 8 years ago warned us not to and we should have listened. The sales and design center process were great. Once construction started is when we had issues. They just slap these homes together with no care. Overpromised & Undelivered

The purchase process was complicated by inaccurate option descriptions. Finishes were rushed (poor taping & drywalling, cabinetry misalignments, exposed electrical outlets, a number of electrical wasn't grounded, front door painting incomplete and interior doors misaligned, ripped carpeting, incorrect height on up[graded/deep-pour basement) and are very visible. Some of these items were raised before closing and we were told nothing would be done. Do not recommend.

Pulte is very inflexible with design options. Their baseline features are low quality. Everything seemed to be an upgrade. Pulte tried to force me to move from a double oven convection range to a low budget range. I refused to do so and they charged me more, and still did not get my double oven in time for closing. It's been 8 weeks since they ordered and still nothing. Getting repairs completed due to Pulte's poor workmanship takes an extremely long time. And constant follow up.

Inability to complete the home

one example cabinets selected at the design center was level 6, but they installed level 1 and poorly installed and not even completed, very disappointing and the next step which is the reply to this survey will determine if the rating goes even lower.
