This is our second Pulte home we have owned over the past 5 years. The first one went great During the beginning of our home buying/building it went fabulous. During the middle and end was a different story. We knew about delays and could understand that. Unfortunately, Pulte didn’t have any quality control when it came time for the finished product. We have an upgrade kitchen that has damaged cabinets and rushed backsplash. The backsplash has two different color grouts and tiles sticking out after repair was made before closing. Our experience was plagued by lack of communication and our field manager was changed three times during the build process. The last month of the build was a complete rush and showed in the quality of the workmanship at the end.

I bought a home with other builder and my experience with them was much better than Pulte. We moved in recently into this new Pulte home and there were several things need to be fixed even after closing. I called and texted several times the supervisor, but their response was very poor. Its been a month since we moved in, still they did not fix the things yet. I am still waiting and frustrated. So make sure that everything was done before closing. The quality of our home is not what we expected to be getting for a $300K+ home. All of the work was hired out and was done very quickly. The walls are not straight and the caulk work is horrendous around the house. When brought to the project managers attention we were told that the work that was done meets "pulte standards" so nothing would be done to fix it. The house overall is beautiful but the detail aspect of the home is very poor.

These town homes are thrown together pretty fast. The garage walls do not get full dry wall coverage. We noticed water damage when we were conducting a walk through which was minor at the time turned out to be a leak in one of the walls which was causing water to pool under the downstairs flooring causing damage to about all of our lower cabinets and trim we are well within our warranty so they are going to replace everything. Idk these are not forever homes so I guess I should have lower expectations. We will be moving once we get it together.

Once they have your money they are very unresponsive and do not stand behind even their stated timeframes. As an example when you enter a ticket they will “get back to you within 24-48 hours”. Often it is weeks and sometimes not at all. As this is my second Pulte build I thought the first was “COVID related”. It is not. They don’t respect your time, or your property. Very disappointed with customer service and lack of care once the property is sold.

My sales rep, Jason, was wonderful to work with during the process. During the build though sometimes my house would sit for a couple of months with no work done. Then Andy and Logan took over as field managers and things started to happen quickly finally. All three of these people were great to deal with and on top of things. Once I got into my new house though a few issues came up and it takes weeks for any responses or any one to come out to do repairs. Good luck with finishes and trying to get them to fix things that are mentioned before closing on your pre closing walk-thru. Oh and emergency issues like leaking windows have taken weeks to fix.

I made the closing with missing appliances, they told me that the next day they would come to install these, it has been 6 weeks and I have not had a response, I have written to customer service and they do not pay attention to my mails. Indeed, they warned of delays in deliveries of household appliances; but other neighbors that are under construction already have all their appliances, I made the mistake of closing trusting their word.

After paying so much, this is not what we expect to get, quality of everything lkke dry wall, boards, shelves, bathroom not up to the mark. After a month only I am seeing all the ptch work coming out, drywall getting scuffed just with the touch of anything. Things were good until the end. Since I closed I have had a terrible time trying to get issues resolved. The little attention to detail is missing. There are lots of little mistakes. For example, paint spills and splatters, lumps of plaster, scratches. Several of the items marked during the final walk through were never fixed. They planted trees then turned off the irrigation so now all 5 are half dead. They won't replace because there are still a few green branches. I can't get anyone to respond to my emails. Major repair that needed done (I caught it) after closing. Extremely frustrating and stressful to deal with after moving in. Was not fixed correctly the first time and I've been dealing with it ever since. Multiple promises to fix several items right after closing have not been done months later. Warranty submissions go unresponded to for months (in talking with some neighbors, it's taken more than a year for some fixes). There are dozens of fit, finish and trim issues. We have been so patient and understanding with our reps, its not their fault, and I am sure they are overwhelmed. But for a $600k house, the workmanship is really terrible. Nothing big (so far) but paint, trim, etc. Oh, and the installers drilled through a main waste line putting in shelves. It’s wonderful to be in a brand new home. Unfortunately, that gets ruined when you spend the first couple months constantly finding all of the poor workmanship that wasn’t caught during your brief final inspections. Walls out of square, sloppy craftsmanship all over the place, broken doors, drawers, and cabinets. Very slow response to get anything taken care of. If you’re thinking of building a new home in the Indianapolis area, go with anyone other than Pulte. You’ll be happy you did.
