Breaking Dry wall for brand new month Old house

Delay in Delivery: I Signed the house on December 2021, Promised to deliver by May 2022. Finally delivered in September. Due to that, Paying heavy interest rates. Main Water shut-off Wall: Main Shut off the wall was never working. Scheduled with RT Moore on November '16 th. It requires a 4-hour window and has to break much drywall to fix it. I was wondering how the city inspection got passed with so many issues. Lower-level tub/shower leak: The lower-level shower is leaking and dripping into the bedroom on the first floor of the brand-new home. Trade Partner RT Moore has to break the ...

Poor workmanship on half million $+ homes

We have been SHOCKED at the poor workmanship on our almost $600k home! We were cornered into signing off on celebration day that the house was satisfactorily completed. It was not but we were told it would be. Lies! Every contractor we’ve brought in since we closed in May has commented on the shotty work or the short cuts taken or the lack of attention to detail that they are seeing in our brand new home. It’s a sickening feeling to hear this over and over about what was supposed to be our dream home.

I do not recommend Pulte Homes.! After signing purchase agreement things go down hill fast. Our realtor said he could not believe the poor level of customer care we received from a once reputable builder. We had a stressful, frustrating experience trying to fulfill a life long dream that has gone on for 14 months and is still not complete.

Awful customer service and a whole bunch of issues with the sales team and construction quality control

  • Joshua T.

We had many issues throughout the build process, most were due to the incompetence of the sales rep. On several occasions we were told we were getting one product by the sales rep only to find out too late in the build process that those items that heavily swayed our decision to purchase, either 1. Weren't available, or 2. Were only available if we chose a different option or 3. We were mislead on what we were getting. I could go on and on but there's not enough space. We never even got a response from supervisors when we had issues that warranted it. Overall there are so many issues, and ...

Good floor plan and construction, poor home buying experience

Pros: Good floor plan (Alison), Very Nice and competent building manager ( Ryan) Cons: Inflexible and contract focused interactions with sales. ( If you have to ask for something that is not spelled out in the contract, don’t bother, the answer is NO). Excessive (in my opinion) “Earnest Money”.... more than $50K (10%) in our case. Once you have paid that much, you are locked in and not much room for flexibility/requests after that. Compared to our old Carmel subdivision, no pool, clubhouse. Not a welcoming HOA and community feel... got 2 “courtesy notices” within the first 3 weeks as we were ...

Poor Communication and Finish Quality

  • Brian T.

We regularly experienced delays or difficulty communicating with our construction manager, Logan. During the construction process of our almost $800K home, he was often unresponsive for days or weeks at a time and only responded after several follow-ups when cc'ing everyone we'd talked to from Pulte. Whenever we met in person, Logan wouldn't take notes about our concerns and smirked at our concerns about poor finish quality and workmanship. During our final walkthrough, we also met Cameron, our new point of contact for post-closing warranty concerns. Cameron has also been completely ...

Quality of workmanship is above average, but there are definitive flaws with the angles of the walls and doors. There are many walls and doors that are crooked and bowing right now (before settling). Our interiors doors were poorly installed; some simply don't latch properly, others latch with effort. One of our initial concerns is that we had three construction managers. That's disconcerting because there is a lack of continuity. Our premium lot has Restricted Drain Easements that were not communicated during the purchase period. Very little information and knowledge about them was shared by ...

Pulte Homes - I would not recommend pandemic building to anyone.

  • Henry M.

I would not recommend pandemic building to anyone. While continually being told that COVID was the reason for various issues we experienced, it is not responsible for everything. The finish quality of house is sub-par at best. Sales person was happy to collect his money and move on with no regard for helping address issues. Original project manager no longer with company which is a good thing given the quality of work he let slide. The only bright side at the moment is the new project manager actually seems to care and is looking to actually have the house finished 2 months after we closed.

I closed on 2/19/20. To date, the exterior painting (including caulking and ceiling) and landscaping has not been completed. Also, the exterior was littered with construction debris. There are also interior issues that cannot be addressed at this time due to COVID-19 but reflect upon the quality of workmanship. I am currently having shingle blow offs and shingle flapping in several sections of the roof that has not been resolved although reported.

Overall nice home but there are issues

The home seems nice on the initial inspection but once a closer look is taken, the craftsmanship is not good for the money that was spent. The attention to detail is lacking and we are continuously finding things that were not done properly. It seems that the attitude of "that's good enough" was taken when finishing the home. While Pulte is trying to address all of our issues, it is taking a long time to get someone in the home to fix things.

Issues with Pulte Home

  • Barbara C.

Pulte does not standby their product. Response time to warranty issues related to heating, plumbing and appliances is slow. You can wait more than a week for an initial service visit and the repairs can take weeks to complete. Pulte does not seem to be concerned with the quality of the components they use to build the houses and they do not take any responsibility for the individual components such as the furnace, appliances, and windows, etc. The homeowner has to resolve any issues with these components directly with the manufacturers.

My wife and I had such high hopes when we started the process with Pulte and after closing and moving in we are extremely disappointed in the building team and the service provided. It seemed to be the epitome of bad service and very poor customer service. From the design center to the building team and management. The process throughout was more than frustrating. We took the time to walk through the designing stage and were given our upgrade options. We picked out several upgrades and signed off on a contract with the designer to then be told that an important option we signed off on could ...

We didn't get truthful information about the number of basements in the addition from the sales person and that is why I am giving a 1 star review on trustworthiness. I feel like this is basically a good home, but we can't get some of the last detail work completed which is why I am giving a 1 star review on responsiveness. I'm also frustrated because it's early June and one of the few sunny days we've had since we closed in April, but there are no landscapers working in the addition. At this rate it's going to be fall before we get sod and landscape.

I'm unsure how Pulte even got the approval to open another subdivision in Zionsville. Issues with organization/communication--and more importantly not owning up to basic responsibilities and failures. If Pulte continues on this trajectory, they will either be bankrupt or if still around under another name.

Constructions are done in a way to pass City inspections/standards, i.e just so much to ensure that you can live inside the house, but it is guaranteed that you will live without any satisfaction of any kind. There are occasional goods done but not noteworthy due to the pain, stress that we had to go thru before that good finally happens. But hey, that's likely happening across all builders and not just this builder - right? So helpless. If only I am given chance to improve my rating to 5 stars in this lifetime.

We were so excited to build with Pulte, as we had heard great things. Most of what we heard was not our experience. Working with Charity in the sales office was the highlight of the experience. She was super communicative, friendly and went above & beyond for us. After purchasing our lot and selecting our finishes, it was downhill from there.
