Poor quality assurance. Very unorganized.

It’s wonderful to be in a brand new home. Unfortunately, that gets ruined when you spend the first couple months constantly finding all of the poor workmanship that wasn’t caught during your brief final inspections. Walls out of square, sloppy craftsmanship all over the place, broken doors, drawers, and cabinets. Very slow response to get anything taken care of. If you’re thinking of building a new home in the Indianapolis area, go with anyone other than Pulte. You’ll be happy you did.

The House is great, but the customer service is lacking..

We love our home & the actual building process was great. We had a great sales rep & field manager that were professional, informed, and super helpful throughout. Now that we've been in our home a little over a month, we've reported minor things that need fixed on several occasions and haven't been able to get much of a response. We notified our field manager, customer care coordinator, filed claims online and have still not gotten anything resolved & barely a response back. I know the market is crazy right now & tons of homes are being built so they're very busy, but I'm honestly shocked ...

Things were good until the end. Since I closed I have had a terrible time trying to get issues resolved. The little attention to detail is missing. There are lots of little mistakes. For example, paint spills and splatters, lumps of plaster, scratches. Several of the items marked during the final walk through were never fixed. They planted trees then turned off the irrigation so now all 5 are half dead. They won't replace because there are still a few green branches. I can't get anyone to respond to my emails. I asked someone to come out and check the issues that I have and I get no response. ...

Major repair that needed done (I caught it) after closing. Extremely frustrating and stressful to deal with after moving in. Was not fixed correctly the first time and I've been dealing with it ever since. Multiple promises to fix several items right after closing have not been done months later. Warranty submissions go unresponded to for months (in talking with some neighbors, it's taken more than a year for some fixes). I'm lucky not to have some plumbing/leaking issues that I've heard several have had throughout the neighborhood (or at least they're undiscovered as of yet). Do your ...

My experience with Pulte

I bought a home with other builder and my experience with them was much better than Pulte. We moved in recently into this new Pulte home and there were several things need to be fixed even after closing. I called and texted several times the supervisor, but their response was very poor. Its been a month since we moved in, still they did not fix the things yet. I am still waiting and frustrated. So make sure that everything was done before closing. Once closing is done, it will take months together to get the pending works done. Don't have an assumption that big builders will be very ...

Pulte needs to slow way down on the build process. While we have found Pulte responsive to fixing things, it seems we are always discovering things that aren't right. It definitely does not make us feel like our investment matters when we see so many cut corners and inconsistencies.

An OK Experience... Not Great...

The quality of work I feel is sub par for the price of the house. They rush you through closing and the buyer pays a penalty if they delay closing for any reason, but the Pulte can delay without recourse. We moved into an unfinished home, unpainted exterior, and 8 weeks later, still no sod and an incomplete punch list. With the weather being a slight factor on some of the above items, I still feel it was poor planning on Pulte's part. My advice to new home buyers with Pulte is to stay on top of them every step of the way. Do not settle for less than you expect and keep pushing them. In ...

The quality of our home is not what we expected to be getting for a $300K+ home. All of the work was hired out and was done very quickly. The walls are not straight and the caulk work is horrendous around the house. When brought to the project managers attention we were told that the work that was done meets "pulte standards" so nothing would be done to fix it. The house overall is beautiful but the detail aspect of the home is very poor.

My family needed a quick move in ready home, and the original buyer of our home was unable to perform. We love most of the layout (would have nixed the 5th bedroom in favor of a loft or bonus room, and would have liked a tub in the master bath) and the builder was willing to make a few last minute cosmetic changes for us. That being said after moving in there is poor craftsmanship and quality everywhere. And Pulte is unbelievably cheap!!! CHEAP!!! Most of our lightbulbs burnt out within the first few weeks or never worked when we moved in. They dont finish the garage walls. They skimp on ...

Pulte Homes - As a real estate agent who has worked withMany builders this

As a real estate agent who has worked with Many builders this was the worst build process and worst finished product I have ever sold. The contractors rushed through the work. The quality of the finish is DIY quality at best. My home that was 18 years old had better quality finishes in it than this brand new home. I’m scared to see what other issues will arise the longer we live in the home. It’s a shame the process and product were so horrible because we love the floor plan and our home.

We purchased a model home. The selling agent was very friendly at first until problems were discovered. There was cracked tile in the bathroom that was hidden from us by placement of furniture in the bathroom. We were aware of drywall issue in dining room ceiling needing to be repaired. We were not told at that time that it had been caused by a leak in the ceiling. Once we expressed our concern of not being told these issues before we signed, the selling agent became very difficult to work with. The construction supervisor was a complete flake. Getting things fixed and getting proper ...

A great house, but a very poor experience the first 4 months. Our salesperson, Robin, did an outstanding job of communicating and seeking for answers. Additionally, Charlie turned our project around and our neighborhood for that matter. He deserves a raise. That being said, a customer shouldn't have to manage a build, which is what this experience turned into. We are currently dealing with a warranty issue due to poor craftsmanship by the tile layers, but all other trades did a quality job. This house is what we expected and what we were sold.

If you start this process with low expectations, it's not bad. Do not have high hopes in these areas: Excellent communication Pride in craftsmanship Timeliness Customer service is hit/miss Ability to get materials in stock (not Pulte's fault, that's a supply chain issue) Ability to hire quality framers (that is Pulte's fault) Workers paying attention to detail Feeling like you, as the customer, are important. I would also recommend that during the building process, you make site visits frequently. There were many mistakes made and if you aren't there to catch it, it can be covered up by the ...

Horrible field manager

Make sure you have a good field manager, basically the General Contractor of the build, that has good communication skills. Ours, no longer with the company, only wanted to communicate through phone calls, didn't reply to emails, deflected responsibility, and gave false timelines. We had our "celebration walk" when the home still didn't have water, pass inspections, and receive certificate of occupancy. Told us the closing date had to be pushed out the day after he told us we were "good" to close.

My project manager had way too many homes. It was evident in the responsiveness and ability to keep up with issues. There were a few hiccups along the way that I had to stay on top off, but the painters are a disaster. It was ridiculous what was missed and how many times they had to come back. By the time we closed, I basically just gave up. I’m also disappointed that the ceiling/attic isn’t strong enough to support any storage. I would like to attach some indoor gym equipment for kids to the walls and ceiling, but Im scared the roof would fall down..even though I was able to put ...

Craftsmanship not up to par. Moved in two months ago and there are still fixes taking place on the home and yet to have a yard. Had to get on pulte just to get a rough grade on our yard and after 3 weeks finally happened by getting higher ups at Pulte involved and also getting with the landscape company. Very irritating that when fixes were to take place it would take contractors 2-3 tries to get it right. I would never recommend Pulte built home to friends or family and in fact i would steer them away. Don't get me wrong, we love the house and the layout but it is very aggravating to ...

They forgot a 20ft pipe…

We were initially excited to build and purchase our home with Pulte, trusting that their process and brand reputation would deliver a high-quality, turnkey home. Unfortunately, our experience after closing has been deeply disappointing, and that trust has been shaken. Just three days after moving in, we experienced a major failure: water began leaking through the ceiling near the garage entry, saturating drywall, light fixtures, and floors. The cause? The washing machine discharge drain pipe had not been installed—a basic and critical oversight that was somehow missed by multiple layers of ...
