Overall poor from sales to construction. Multiple project managers with poor communication, sales with over promises, and a swamp in my backyard making it unusable. Already considering moving.

The construction manger delayed the closing and promised to fix a list of unfinished/half finished items. he never did. We paid a lot of money for this house trusting Pulte, now we have to pay extra to fix the problems on a new house!

I closed on 2/19/20. To date, the exterior painting (including caulking and ceiling) and landscaping has not been completed. Also, the exterior was littered with construction debris. There are also interior issues that cannot be addressed at this time due to COVID-19 but reflect upon the quality of workmanship. I am currently having shingle blow offs and shingle flapping in several sections of the roof that has not been resolved although reported.

Overall nice home but there are issues

The home seems nice on the initial inspection but once a closer look is taken, the craftsmanship is not good for the money that was spent. The attention to detail is lacking and we are continuously finding things that were not done properly. It seems that the attitude of "that's good enough" was taken when finishing the home. While Pulte is trying to address all of our issues, it is taking a long time to get someone in the home to fix things.
Pulte Homes responded:
We are disappointed that you are not satisfied with the quality of your new home and are having a hard time getting issues resolved. We would like to assist and would appreciate if you could email customersupport@pultegroup.com with some additional information so our team can be in touch. ^Abby

Issues with Pulte Home
- Barbara C.

Pulte does not standby their product. Response time to warranty issues related to heating, plumbing and appliances is slow. You can wait more than a week for an initial service visit and the repairs can take weeks to complete. Pulte does not seem to be concerned with the quality of the components they use to build the houses and they do not take any responsibility for the individual components such as the furnace, appliances, and windows, etc. The homeowner has to resolve any issues with these components directly with the manufacturers.
Pulte Homes responded:

My wife and I had such high hopes when we started the process with Pulte and after closing and moving in we are extremely disappointed in the building team and the service provided. It seemed to be the epitome of bad service and very poor customer service. From the design center to the building team and management. The process throughout was more than frustrating. We took the time to walk through the designing stage and were given our upgrade options. We picked out several upgrades and signed off on a contract with the designer to then be told that an important option we signed off on could ...

We didn't get truthful information about the number of basements in the addition from the sales person and that is why I am giving a 1 star review on trustworthiness. I feel like this is basically a good home, but we can't get some of the last detail work completed which is why I am giving a 1 star review on responsiveness. I'm also frustrated because it's early June and one of the few sunny days we've had since we closed in April, but there are no landscapers working in the addition. At this rate it's going to be fall before we get sod and landscape.

I'm unsure how Pulte even got the approval to open another subdivision in Zionsville. Issues with organization/communication--and more importantly not owning up to basic responsibilities and failures. If Pulte continues on this trajectory, they will either be bankrupt or if still around under another name.

Did lot of follow up before closing . Still things are pending for fix which was committed on email to be fixed by field manager . Still it’s open . I never recommend anyone . Not sure it’s Pulte management fault or field manager fault or contract fault . No one aware about what they have done what they have to look . Really very very bad experience

Constructions are done in a way to pass City inspections/standards, i.e just so much to ensure that you can live inside the house, but it is guaranteed that you will live without any satisfaction of any kind. There are occasional goods done but not noteworthy due to the pain, stress that we had to go thru before that good finally happens. But hey, that's likely happening across all builders and not just this builder - right? So helpless. If only I am given chance to improve my rating to 5 stars in this lifetime.

We were so excited to build with Pulte, as we had heard great things. Most of what we heard was not our experience. Working with Charity in the sales office was the highlight of the experience. She was super communicative, friendly and went above & beyond for us. After purchasing our lot and selecting our finishes, it was downhill from there. The construction managers would rarely communicate, and even when we reached out would it respond to emails. They didn’t follow through on things they said they would do. We have been in our home for over a month now, and are still waiting on things to ...

Poor build experience

Overall pretty disappointing build experience. Our sales consultant was great... he was very knowledgable and responsive to inquiries. Our field manager was briefly responsive but after slab was poured, we had very sparse communication. We didn't know where our house was in the build process and when questions/concerns arose, they went unanswered. Our punch list was incomplete or completed haphazardly. Quality is poor from poor paint job, obvious dinged trim/carpentry work, cracked backsplash and shower tile, VERY roughly mud & taped garage.

Before I go into the build process, I want to call out Shandra for being a great selling agent. She helped us along the way and was an advocate for us from the start. We began with one project manager, Brandon, who was excellent. He made me feel comfortable and in good hands from our first virtual meeting. Every week he would send us emails with pictures, letting us know what was accomplished and what the plan for the next week was. During my pre-drywall inspection, he was very thorough, and let me know the ins and outs of our soon-to-be new home. Unfortunately, a week later he left the ...

I’ve built with Pulte before (in Tennessee) and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Well. The Indianapolis area Pulte experience couldn’t have been more different. The framing/structure of the home is sturdy and well done, thankfully. My nitpicky, former custom builder father inspected that. But the finishes and sloppy craftsmanship is unacceptable. Here’s the shortlist of issues with workmanship: - Scratches on glass shower door - Lopsided spindles on staircase - Scratches on the luxury vinyl tile floors - Scratches, nicks, and dents in the kitchen cabinets - Tears in ...

Superficially a beautiful home. Several issues with workmanship and things that were left undone at time of move in. Pulte representatives are good at sales and telling you the things you want to hear - but there is horrible, to no, follow up whatsoever. The communication between Pulte representatives, their vendors, and the customer are terrible. I would not purchase another Pulte home.

Rushed to sell the house with broken window and missing features

Builders were in a rush to sell the house. There was a broken window which they were aware of however did not fix. In addition contract had a ring door bell included. They refused to push the closing date regardless of these features not being present. It has been 2 months post closing and both things have not been fixed. Have reached out to them many times however it still has not been addressed. Definitely a terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone

A lot of the angle cuts on boards in the roof structure were very poor. A lot of drywall screws were sunk to deep. They don’t tie all the corners together structurally resulting in cracks in more than 3/4 of the corners. Doors not hung properly allowing for visibility from outside a room.Defective patio door that they didn’t want to deal and passed it on to warranty which still hasn’t been fixed. We had to go back and forth to have lights that we paid extra for put in the correct place. Poor fitting on countertops and trim work they’re solution just a bigger caulking gun..There wasn’t an ...

Great Floor Plan, Lack of Quality Workmanship

Location and floor plan were the draw for our Pulte home purchase. After we put money down on the lot we heard throughout the design process they are a production builder. That is for sure. From limited design selections if you do not want gray to the half bath fan that never shuts off to a light switch placed in the middle of a wall forcing you to stretch to turn on, thoughtful living was not executed. Overall we can walk through our home which is expensive and see details that do not match the price we paid.

We had a terrible buying experience. Starting from the sales consultant Jodee, it was always chaotic and the team slacked in responding quickly and accurately to our questions. It was almost that we were managing the project. They moved our deadlines quite a few times and delayed our appliances by over three weeks. And, the punch out items were incomplete but they still forced us to close on the house to meet their monthly sales quotas.

This is the third home we have built and Pulte by far has been the worst experience of all three. What makes this so surprising is that Pulte has been the most expensive home we have ever built as well. It started off great with our original sales rep. We picked our design and colors and materials. Multiple items were unavailable but we understand that the timing of this was also during Covid.
