My family needed a quick move in ready home, and the original buyer of our home was unable to perform. We love most of the layout (would have nixed the 5th bedroom in favor of a loft or bonus room, and would have liked a tub in the master bath) and the builder was willing to make a few last minute cosmetic changes for us. That being said after moving in there is poor craftsmanship and quality everywhere. And Pulte is unbelievably cheap!!! CHEAP!!! Most of our lightbulbs burnt out within the first few weeks or never worked when we moved in. They dont finish the garage walls. They skimp on the insulation. The planning room had cheap ugly looking laminate instead of quartz to match the rest of the kitchen(we already ripped this out) There are barely any straight walls in the house. There are lots of paint touch ups and dry wall touch ups needed. There are lots of markings and quality issues with the laminate floor. Kitchen island countertop has multiple cracks and damages. Maybe we are more picky than most but I probably would not build with Pulte unless I could be there every step of the way to supervise and make sure its done right from the beginning. I appreciate Pulte wanting to give blind construction workers job opportunities but I think going forward they should at least hire people who can draw straight lines and count to 10. We were pleased overall with the building process. Pulte responded in a timely manner to our concerns.

Not impressed with this home.

Overall nice home but they do not allow for ANY customization which is a significant disappointment considering how expensive these homes are. They have a decent selection of finishes, but upgrades are costly from base selection and even basic items are costly to upgrade. Overall feel of house is nice and would only change a few things like increase the size of the garage and adjust layout of the basement if the builder would allow. Absolutely avoid Pulte Mortgage at all costs.

Quality work is absent

Had some major issues prior to closing. Gave Pulte more then a month of heads up. Was told it will be taken care of. It of course was not done prior to closing. Now months after moving in still dealing with people coming in and out getting things done. Not talking about punch list, paint areas type of items. Major headache for something that could have been addressed prior to me moving in. Pulte is doing what they said they would but I am having to constantly remind and send emails to ensure that things get done. I am having to project manage basically and stay on top of things which should have been done prior to move in. I do not think I would build with Pulte again. Premium price for average to below average quality of finish. For sure do not get their options! Do it yourself through contractors after close and save yourself the extra headache and $$$. ... More

Should have 3 total walk throughs. Because when work isn’t done at 2nd walk through...and you are heading to closing, it puts you in a bind.

Buy from someone else. They don't know what they are doing.

Pulte does not standby their product. Response time to warranty issues related to heating, plumbing and appliances is slow. You can wait more than a week for an initial service visit and the repairs can take weeks to complete. Pulte does not seem to be concerned with the quality of the components they use to build the houses and they do not take any responsibility for the individual components such as the furnace, appliances, and windows, etc. The homeowner has to resolve any issues with these components directly with the manufacturers.

I spent $8k+ to upgrade all the cabinets to maple solid wood. However, it turns out they gave me laminate cabinets. Tried to contact customer. Never got any reply. Stay away!!!

Wood Hollow is a great community to live in. It is in a great location.

I still don’t have a mailbox! I was told it would be about 3 weeks. It is now 2 months. They put up a temporary but the post office will not deliver. I have to go to the post office to get my mail. I called but still no resolve.

While the salesperson (David) and Erin (Project Manager) were both terrific, the overall experience in building a Pulte home was anything but. They are the definition of a tract builder that slaps up the houses in record time...workmanship is atrocious. But, the fact that we were told just a few days before closing that our home did not appraise is sickening. We didn't even do many upgrades (like countertops, flooring, fixtures) because the Pulte offerings were so outdated...can't even imagine how much more under the appraised value the home would have been with these items added to the sales price. Typically, if a home does not appraise, you either cancel the contract or bring the difference in $$$ to the table. We were not allowed out of the contract and had to take on a different loan product with PMI, which Pulte "graciously" paid for...probably because we decided to use them as a lender. Can't even imagine if we had used another lender and had to bring the dollars to the table. We were also told that appraisers were brought in from other parts of the state and were not familiar with the Carmel-Westfield market. Wow. 6 weeks after closing we still have outstanding items from Weather list. Our Field Manager keeps promising to resolve but then never does.

Overall the building experience was positive, they finished the home in the time they promised, quality of the build was good, some small details that were fixed. In summary my experience has been positive.

Very good communication between autumn and us. Any issues she fixed right away. House is great so far

This our second Pulte home and Pulte did not disappoint. We had a great experience every step of the way.

The biggest disappointment has probably been the paint. We closed on October 23rd and we've already seen areas where the paint is chipped, wasn't applied thoroughly or wasn't taken all the way to the corners. While I understand it's not high quality paint, I personally expected a better paint for the sizable investment we made with Pulte. We will now have to hire someone to fix these issues which we felt should have been done in the first place. I would also add we have a few areas in the floors that have been pushed up. Follow up to correct issues after closing is slow. Would at least appreciate a periodic phone call or email status report on outstanding items. Has been >2 months since reported by home owner...a growing concern.

Easy and transparent process working with Pulte. Everyone was helpful and helped me navigate the intricacies of building a new home.

So far so good

We have had a very pleasant experience with Pulte. With any builder, there will be some bumps in the road along the way. We ran into a couple, and Pulte got everything resolved. We absolutely love our new home!

I love my 9 foot ceilings and the large open concept with the gathering room. The energy efficiency in this house is great, especially the insulation. It is 20 degrees out and the basement is just as warm as the main level. The upstairs does not get hot like in most houses. We love our house!

Everyone was responsive to my concerns

The house that I am in is amazing!!! The experience from the moment I entered to the sales office to the house delivery has been great. The quality checks and the processes Pulte uses to build their homes are very rigorous ensuring that everything is up to code standards and beyond. My house has a very versatile floorplan, designed to live in it. Pulte certainly has designed their houses in such a way that they reflect the current lifestyles and historic moment. I love it here. It is a great buy.
