This is the second home my wife and I have constructed in Indiana and the fifth home owned. Overall, there has been a lack of quality control and attention to detail during the construction process. Following are examples - Dishwasher was either defective or installed incorrectly. The result was the soaking of the subfloor of the kitchen. The level of damage required a water restoration company to come to the house to remedy. The process is ongoing and may require disassembly of the cabinets. Landscapers have cracked sidewalk and driveway while operating a bulldozer. In the building process, after drywall installed, workers punched a hole through the wall to run an extension cord. The steel I Beam running the length of the basement has construction mud caked in multiple spots. Pulte process appears as we will fix on the backside rather than quality control on the frontside before the owner closes on the house. All depends on how Pulte handles the problems AFTER the closing, we were told to wait one year before we can report any problem.

If you are considering a Pulte home, I would strongly encourage you not to! This experience has been nothing but a nightmare. Quality and attention to detail are severely lacking. After spending a significant amount of time after closing having contractors correct items, they actually have created more issues and damages because no one from Pulte is managing the process. Pulte relies in the homeowner to find things or otherwise they hedge on it being overlooked.

We didn't get truthful information about the number of basements in the addition from the sales person and that is why I am giving a 1 star review on trustworthiness. I feel like this is basically a good home, but we can't get some of the last detail work completed which is why I am giving a 1 star review on responsiveness. I'm also frustrated because it's early June and one of the few sunny days we've had since we closed in April, but there are no landscapers working in the addition. At this rate it's going to be fall before we get sod and landscape.

I am very happy with my new Pote home. The building quality is excellent. The only negative is that Pulte rushed me through the process of selecting structured and unstructured items. The turnaround was too quick,, which was two and three weeks. For such a large price investment, we need more time.

The experience of building a townhome in Retreat on the Monon was ideal! Selection of materials is on site, and very nice quality, even the lower priced materials. The project manager was very approachable and clear on the explanations of the property. Our home was completed 2 months ahead of schedule!!!

Lack of appropiate supervision throughout the building process. Several constructions issues associated with finishing work, plumbing problems( Such as pipes making noise), among other concerns.

We are not happy with the quality of the house built by Pulte. Our previous home was also a Pulte home and was in a great condition after more than 10 years. We are disappointed to see that the quality has gone down with the new house even though it is a more expensive home. There were many errors in the building process that we caught and had to bring to the field manager's attention. There were still many issues that need to be addressed after the closing.

I was very happy with the experience, especially the design studio and the communication and responsiveness of the construction manager.

Overall, we love our new home. We were sold on the floorplan almost as soon as we walked into the home the very first time - we definitely feel like Pulte has listened to people and designed a home that truly works for families. Our Project Manager Ian was fantastic to work with - he kept us updated about the project and how we were progressing. He took care of the concerns we had and did everything in his power to ensure issues were resolved in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the cast of sub-contractors left something to be desired at times. We did not feel like some of the crews respected this space as our new home. There were multiple messes made throughout the project, with trash and food scraps left in the home at the onset of the project all the way through a drywall mess dropped all over our newly installed gas cook top. It was disappointing that the men that call themselves tradesmen and craftsmen were willing to leave their work in such poor conditions. We would have greatly appreciated just a little bit of care and respect from these crews. To be clear, there were some trades that were very respectful of our home and took the proper measures to show their respect. We understand that at times there is little that can be done to correct the actions of these contractors, but their actions do reflect poorly on the overall building experience, in our opinion. At the end of the day, we would recommend Pulte to our friends and family members if they were considering them as a builder. I believe the people that work for Pulte truly cared about us and our experience and did everything they could to help us enjoy this experience. ... More

Very well defined product and process. That said not a great deal of flexibility in offering and delivery which is fine if that is what you seek. They are good at what they do, and they do it again and again!

Pleased with Pulte Home

Craftsmanship not up to par. Moved in two months ago and there are still fixes taking place on the home and yet to have a yard. Had to get on pulte just to get a rough grade on our yard and after 3 weeks finally happened by getting higher ups at Pulte involved and also getting with the landscape company. Very irritating that when fixes were to take place it would take contractors 2-3 tries to get it right. I would never recommend Pulte built home to friends or family and in fact i would steer them away. Don't get me wrong, we love the house and the layout but it is very aggravating to get to this point and we have been living here 2 months now. Ian and Ryan have been great to work with but the quality of workers and poor attention to detail by them is a reflection of Pulte as a whole. ... More

Craftsmanship is a lost art. From concrete issues to drywall there are plenty of ways that the quality could have been better
