Lots of issues I didn't inspected the house before closing due to Covid19 issue and social Distancing

Pulte's response to issues that have come up since we moved in has been extremely disappointing. They do not follow up with you. The warranty department doesn't respond in a timely manner. I have water running into our home every time it rains. This has gone on for 3 weeks. No one has come out to repair it. Construction bins constantly have trash and garbage spilling onto the ground. This is vey unprofessional. I've told our friends we have made a mistake building with Pulte. They do not keep their promises after the closing. My bathroom clogged within 2 days of move in. When I requested for checking that, I was informed that it was clogged due to use of toilet paper. My concern if you cannot use toilet paper in toilet what else can I use. Builder doesn’t show any responsibility in fixing the issues at all. Overly priced home. Builder charge differently for upgrades for each model making low end homes come out be expensive than it is worth. They miss the updates said over phone and blame customer that it was not informed to them. Doesn’t accept even some of minimal requests once the contract is signed. For example, before signing the contract I was said I can go for 8 ft or a 9 ft basement, but once I sign the contract and requested to add basement they said they can only do 9 ft basement, due to which I had to pay 10000 more on the purchase price. The sales office will mislead you. For example, I paid for pull out drawers in the lower kitchen cabinets. There are 3 cabinets. They only will put drawers in 2 of them - When I asked they said - Oh, that is the way we do it. We don't put them in the third one. I paid for soft closing cabinet doors. They didn't tell me that it was only SOME cabinets, not all. They painted the inside the wrong color and then wanted to repaint the entire inside after I moved in. Materials are cheap. the kitchen cabinets have gaps and drawers often come off the rails. The bathtub is a bad design. Oven, microwave failed in 2 months. Dishwasher heating unit failed immediately. If you still buy Pulte after this warning - for sure do not get your appliances from them. My friend bought Pulte 2 months before me and her oven and microwave failed exactly the same way! And Pulte washes their hands of the appliance repairs immediately. You have to go to the manufacturer directly. Workmanship is shoddy. Electrical outlets did not work. Doors have big gaps, The tub overflow cover fell off into my bath along with the mounting screw in a plastic bag - Just floating in my bath water. There is paint and drywall mud on the floors. Many details done badly. There was a long list of repairs as soon as I moved in. Refrigerator and range hood both installed with dents and Pulte had to replace. Beware! They sand the drywall after installing your new rugs. And they don't even cover them. They used my new rug as a work surface. They stored the bathtub on the master bedroom carpet. They left their drywall mud and filler supplies on the bedroom carpets with nothing under them. Pulte's response was - "that is how we do it." Beware! They left so much dirt under the flooring that the floors were damaged from below and they had to remove and replace sections. Oh, and the roof leaked at the first hard rain - water dripping from the can light onto the dining room floor. They had to rip off part of the roof and re-do it. Later they say they will replace the attic insulation. Keep in mind i have only lived here 8 weeks and I could go on for another page. I gave 3 stars for responsiveness because they seem to be working on the issues - except of course for the appliances. They aren't bothering with those. ... More

Buy from someone else. They don't know what they are doing.

I spent $8k+ to upgrade all the cabinets to maple solid wood. However, it turns out they gave me laminate cabinets. Tried to contact customer. Never got any reply. Stay away!!!

While the salesperson (David) and Erin (Project Manager) were both terrific, the overall experience in building a Pulte home was anything but. They are the definition of a tract builder that slaps up the houses in record time...workmanship is atrocious. But, the fact that we were told just a few days before closing that our home did not appraise is sickening. We didn't even do many upgrades (like countertops, flooring, fixtures) because the Pulte offerings were so outdated...can't even imagine how much more under the appraised value the home would have been with these items added to the sales price. Typically, if a home does not appraise, you either cancel the contract or bring the difference in $$$ to the table. We were not allowed out of the contract and had to take on a different loan product with PMI, which Pulte "graciously" paid for...probably because we decided to use them as a lender. Can't even imagine if we had used another lender and had to bring the dollars to the table. We were also told that appraisers were brought in from other parts of the state and were not familiar with the Carmel-Westfield market. Wow. For the price we paid for this house it should have been completed. Like the concrete should have been sealed, the grout should have been sealed, the granite countertops should have been sealed, the garage should have been fully insulated and dry walled, the garage doors should have been insulated. I could go on and on. I would NOT recommend anyone to buying one of Pulte overpriced unfinished houses. Then after closing it took more than 30 days to get a approved Occupancy Certificate..... And should I talk about the lack of getting problems resolved in a timely manner......... no offense to Nick but I would never buy another or suggest anyone to buy a home from them. ... More

If you are considering a Pulte home, I would strongly encourage you not to! This experience has been nothing but a nightmare. Quality and attention to detail are severely lacking. After spending a significant amount of time after closing having contractors correct items, they actually have created more issues and damages because no one from Pulte is managing the process. Pulte relies in the homeowner to find things or otherwise they hedge on it being overlooked.
