We recently purchases a Pulte home and overall it was a good experience. However we would advise new buyers to be very vigilant while doing your walk through. Some of the issues we identified were addressed and there were some we missed until we lived here for a few days. There was a lack of proper clean up on counter tops that were left with sticky residue. Paint drops on new hardwood floors. Stains on new tile floors.Hand rail on basement stairs not properly attached. Garage door doesnt stay closed unless deadbolt is attached. The sales office staff are terrific. Helpful and honest. The construction staff that completed walkthroughs were terrific as well. Again, helpful and honest. Corporate Pulte is not trustworthy. We worked with the Sales Office to set a closing date. One month later, we heard from our attorney that we were going to be penalized $16k for failing to meet the closing date, ie the date that the condo was supposedly completed. We never received a letter notifying us of a closing date. They justified their actions stating that “the contract stated that we needed to close on the completion date”. ...

Both Mary(s), Sales Consultants, were extremely easy to work with and provided exceptional guidance from Purchase/Sales to Closing. Kris and Sean, Senior Construction Managers, were informative throughout the construction phase and walk through and no question was to elementary for them to answer. We identified several issues, including unfinished work and defects, during our walkthrough. Given the current state of the house, it would be unreasonable for Pulte to request us to proceed with the closing. If we were local, I would decline the closing because the house is not ready for occupancy. Even after the closing, Pulte had yet to assign workers to address issues in our house, hindering our ability to change the garage door code. The only reason I did not rank "great" across the board is we've only been in the home a few weeks. Quality of the build and materials will not to start revealing themselves until more time has passed. The Pulte client success managers and punch contractor have all been highly responsive thus far to needed adjustments after we moved in.

IMPORTANT: Above ratings are distorted (lower) because of 1 group. 1) Pulte HQ communication was excellent 2) Customer Service once moved in was/ is outstanding. MIke and Chandler understand and truly exhibit the meaning of customer centric. .A few things they did made such a positive impact and we appreciate them. 3) Sales after P&S was fine for very minor things but several key and critical aspects , so important to us, were a challenge after challenge and frustration. When I found the Pulte community of new townhouses in Sudbury Ma, I was so happy! We purchased on of the Ashton design, and we are so happy. Quality workmanship and the crew we delt with are super nice and very helpful. Value was also great for what we got. We would buy a Pulte home in a heartbeat in the future. We are disappointed with the quality of the workmanship and the lack of quality control, more than the quality of the materials. I expected the materials to be a little more high end but overall they have been satisfactory. We are making a few uprades and have had to ask for someone to come in to clean up grout on tile, replacement of defective tiles and clean up of glue on hardwood floors, and replacement of stained pieces of hardwood. Although we like the unit, dealing with Pulte has been very frustrating. From sales, to closing, to builder manager, to "customer care", there is a overall lack of communication and transparency. Finishing of our unit is messy and careless. Many items on our punch list have not been fixed, and our customer care people have not responded to our email requesting a meeting. Even a simple acknowledgement of our email would have been appreciated. Taking the experience as a whole, knowing what we know now, I doubt we would have bought from Pulte.
