Customer Reviews

My wife and I were expecting better quality.

The cleanliness upon closing was terrible. Workmanship on certain things is low in quality. For example, paint, trim boards look like they have been chewed on, paint dripped on grout, stains on tile that I can’t get off, entry door in garage has many dings in the metal, cement from filling beam pockets fell all over floor. Took hours to chisel it off floor. I’m sorry but that’s not quality workmanship for what we paid for the house.

The workmanship on the condo that I purchased really are disappointing. Especially details in painting, the line between two tones, some basic standard and guideline of clear and clean cutline between areas, with tape for instance, were not followed. Every time I look at the those mess area and lines, I couldn't help believing that if an ammeter like me could do a better job.

Site construction team was excellent. We were rushed to closing while many issues kept popping up. Design and construction of the house seems well done, however some building materials were questionable.

This is my first house and I do like it overall. However, there are some annoying issues. The electricity of the jacuzzi somehow isn't done at all at closing. I found it out days later that the bathtub isn't working and the plumber came finding out that there's no electric outlet and the plug is just left dangling. And as the house closed the builder's no longer responsible for it and the warranty is taking forever. (House is closed 2 months before and it's still not resolved till now). The dishwasher is also not correctly connected with the sink, while this is resolved fairly quickly by the ...

Pulte Homes - There's no lock provided for master bathroom by design!

There's no lock provided for master bathroom by design! That is unbelievable and never heard of with any good builders. In spite of asking about this with Pulte the answer has been only 'NO' which doesn't sound good.

There are several issues found a month after move in. a. The head/air doesnt blow to the two bedrooms farther away from the Furnace. Did Pulte test air flow out of the vents. I am confident anemometer was never used. Now running through Pulte hoops to get someone to look. Understand all my neighbours are having similar issues. b. The water pressure in shower and several taps is not adequate. Pulte sent a plumber, who cleaned up something here and there. They dont measure preassue or flow. c. The landing area hardwood is shoddy, looks like a novice did the Hardwood. d. Pulte ...

Be watchful that items selected at design phase translate to a change order. If it’s not put on the change order it is not installed!! I trusted the process (between design and sales) as never built a house before and found that under cabinet lighting was selected in design but sales never put on change order so not installed. Shampoo niche in baths are not feasible (I asked) due to skill set of tile setters! For the cost of the home I would have thought that a niche and a soap dish would be standard. Nope! It’s these little touches that really mar the new home experience. The water leak, ...

Although we are very happy with the house and floor plan, however, during the building process we feel the contractors did not pay attention to detail, and many jobs were completed in a sloppy manner. As a result, we needed to do a lot of clean-up upon moving in, which we didn't expect with a brand new home.

Pulte Sales persons won’t allow any customization like adding window or removing unwanted features. Frankly I had a very high expectation from pulte in quality and craftsmanship. But I am disappointed with craftsmanship as I saw various abnormalities in finishing process. Literally u need to check everything for your house. I don’t know if pulte has a quality team to verify after finishing. Why a customer need to go wall by wall, room by room to check abnormality. We are paying premium price. They don’t even cleaned the heating vents and not pressure washed my house after construction and ...

The process of obtaining a mortgage was tedious. There was a lot of back and forth . Even asked for a US currency income whenever my husband was recurving a Canadian currency pension. All they have to do was convert it to US but instead called us several times that it has to be in US. After our closing time and we were supposed to move in, our moving truck has to park outside the house because there was something else they have to fix before it will sign off that whatever they fix is ok. We have pay extra time because of the wait. We had 2 moving trucks waiting to unload our stuff. ...

Pros: Pulte has great floor plans, elevations and options, good site locations, good community planning and generally well maintained communities Cons: Shoddy workmanship in a few areas (needs to focus more on the quality and not just speed), possibly a COVID driven issue but some of the standard options they have provided before along with their higher-priced options aren't standard anymore (as a second time Pulte homebuyers, our last home we've built came with some standard options that weren't standard in our new home), responding to new build issues through their claims portal is very ...

We really wish that we had more time between our celebration walk and final walk through. Only 50% of the items printed out were fixed or addressed. The very final step of the closing was scheduled for November 30. Our appointment was at 11 and we did not close until 5:30 in the evening. There were over 35 closing scheduled for that day alone. Other buyers were also there on the 30th because they couldn’t close on the 29th. Not sure if a Pulte was trying to close by the end of the month figures. But many people were very frustrated. May want to stagger them out more thru out the month.

Pulte makes high quality homes. Be diligent in asking about all options for your home including upgrades. We missed out on a few options due to our sales associate being fired in the middle of our purchase. There are a few things we didn’t know and were misinformed about. Pulte worked to correct some of the issues. They were responsive up until signing on the dotted line. Once you sign and purchase the home you become low priority and the communication is delayed and at times unresponsive to the issues that arise. We are still waiting on our floors to be replaced after our first floor and ...

It was frustrating and disheartening to watch, after we had moved in, several homes in the neighborhood be completed, with driveways installed, while we waited. It is apparent to us that Pulte only cared about getting us Closed; after that we were put to the back of line.

I found the quality of work just so so. Would rate as an average home builder. Had problems from the start and throughout the build. Nice looking home, but you will pay, just like any other new home build for the upgrades, which will probably be a lot. A lot of problems along the way were addressed right away, others not so fast. You need to be very vigil throughout the whole process.

Pulte Homes - People are nice but poor material and installation quality.

People were always very reponsive to me. No complains. However regarding quailty of material is perceived after a little more than a month in the house. The whole second floor squeaks, in some areas very loud where we avoid to walk when little kids are sleeping. Carpet instalation is very poor, there are places where it is already pealing off and also there are many places with carpet nail not properly installed that hurts when we walk over. Hardwood Floors have gaps in some areas which are not supposed to have as we can see in the rest of the house. I believe the one year review will take ...

Construction team do not maintian quality of work

  • Sandeep P.

They try to finish the work as fast as they can and close the house. After framing is completed, they give all of the remaining work to contracting companies. And they finsih their work with poor quality and the finishing look of the work do not look good and fine. The problem is they either donot have control over the contractors or they are lazy to properly coordinate with them. In the end, the construction team overshadows the issues and try to convince you that the item/product/structure itself look like this and there is no scope for improvement.

As the title suggests, the entire process has been what I would consider middle of the road. It started out great with the sales team. The did an excellent job explaining things and making suggestions. The design team was also very good. I started having problems with the Pulte finance team. They will offer you money towards closing, this is the only reason to use them. I did not find their rate competitive, they gave bad advice, and were not particularly responsive at times. Once construction started, the construction manager started out fine. They give timely updates, and things ...
