Don't Push Delivery and Special Orders to Upset Us

We made the mistake of planning move-in based on the dates the builder had given us. They made the date for closing but many items were missed or sloppily done for to make the date. After closing, we walked into workers in the house cutting holes in the drywall and hap-haphazardly installing the back splash tiles with all the associated mess. 6 Weeks later, we are still trying to get many items addressed. Most customizations we asked for were not allowed and any "late" changes to the order caused problems.

I have purchased 5 brand new homes over the past 30 years. Lots of experience with various builders. THIS IS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH PULTE AND IT WILL BE MY LAST. I'LL SEE TO IT THAT MY VOICE IS HEARD TO INFLUENCE OTHERS AGAINST PURCHASING A PULTE HOME. See below for the details. Quality construction, sloppy finish work and follow up

Overall process was smooth and organized. Lack of skilled trades is the real issue. Construction quality seems high, the finish work was rushed and very average. Once taking possession responsiveness has declined. Issues aren't large ones but once signing off we certainly don't seem quite as important to Pulte

Structurally our home appears good. Fine details are really terrible. We just gave up on complaining because it never got addressed. Even when they came to fix it multiple times. When you choose Pulte, you get a great neighborhood, but not a great house. (To the point when others come in and point out the bad looking fine details.)

We have a beautiful home, but don’t look too close. Pulte has absolutely zero care for quality. We still have paint splatters on the floors, crooked window jambs, visible drywall seams on the ceilings, visible nail holes and joints on trim throughout low voltage cable installed in the wrong place. All of which was pointed out to Pulte multiple times and promised to be fixed before closing. We’ve been in the house for a month and those issues are not fixed. I was shocked at the condition of my wood floors when closing. There should have been some type of covering on them.. The mud was horrible and it took me 3 cleaning to get it all up. There was paint on the floor and also on some of the dark wood. There were screws under the cabinets that had to be pulled out and holes were made. the calk on the fire place is a disgrace. The front door had a large gap and cold air was coming through, the garage entrance to the house would not even close unless I through my whole body weight against the door.

Our home got delayed due to inclement weather and unfavorable soil conditions for months. Minor items requested in the initial contract were not fulfilled. Those issues were brought up during quality walks. Most items were taken care at the end. The quality of drywall is poor - thin walls and easily dented. The trim along all the home was not cut properly. Every door edge is rough and even injured my child. In my case, I’m probably overly critical, especially when paying $700k. Ultimately, Pulte resolved every last issue and went above and beyond with its customer service. While the experience was challenging, as is with any new build, the end result was worthwhile and I’d recommend Pulte to anyone.

Attention ends after signing purchase agreement

Please contact me for all the details. I can only say that after I signed my purchase agreement and paid my deposit everything was a down spiral. Multiple reasonable requests during construction ignored, complaints about quality ignored, I even had to vacuum clean the site myself to mitigate health problems to my asthmatic daughter. Late closing and promises to fix things next week every week ( we are 3 months after closing) that were either not fixed at all or the fixed were bad and are in line for the next round of fixes. I am very disappointed with the overall experience.

We were rushed to close on a house that was not completely finished. We ended up not moving into our home for two weeks after the purchase so Pulte could fix numerous issues that needed to be redone of finished. Even after that, it took multiple weeks to get other issues resolved. Eventually, we were sick and tired of Pulte not finishing things correctly or in a timely way and decided that any minor issues we still have will be done by us with our own contractors of our choosing.

I have a suggestion for pulte when working w seniors. I think they could give more support to senior house buyers that are not as experienced as young ones on the internet. This issue came up for me and my husband often during the mortgage phase of this experience.

Our Pulte home build exceeded our expectations. Not only did they make our timing work, but they were always fast to communicate and kept us informed every step of the way. Pulte seems great on the surface, but the more 3rd party inspections we had and the longer we live in the house its very clear how bad of a job they did and covered parts up so you wouldn't notice. We had shelves falling over after 2 months of use, our garage drains towards the house, not out the garage door, doors hung wrong, tack strips poking through the carpet to the point they were drawing blood if stepped on, with no one offering to properly fix anything and just add more band aids over top.
