We closed escrow on 5/10 and have not yet moved in (today is 7/11). In the 8 weeks of availability for the walk thru items to be completed, they are not. This is not an impressive way to build trust with customers. We are less than impressed.

Best to be on site and monitor their progress personally and question why sometimes there was a lack of progress causing delays to occur that could of and should have been prevented if a timeline check list had been to monitor what critical paths have to be followed to remain on track to the completion date that was established when the project started.

As homebuyers we looked at many homes built by various builders. We choose Pulte because the quality shown in the models homes was beautiful. Our sales person promised the same quality to be in our new home. Pulte fell short. They build homes very fast and the quality and workmanship is not there. Our home was not perfect and beautiful the day of closing, in fact that day the drywall trimmers and painters were still trying to fix issues from the walk thru. Was extremely excited about purchasing this new home from Pulte. the Sales representative (Tom) demonstrated to be very fair, honest and upfront about this purchase and assisted me in making great selections / upgrades. The onsite finance representative in my opinion was not attentive with my paperwork and failed to return phone calls. The pulte people and their supervisors seem to not put an emphasis on homeowner problems after they move in. They kind of try to move things to the back burner. I wish they would be more attentive.

Warranty Program is Difficult

Our home is located in Eagle Run, Calabash, NC. To obtain warranty service someone must be home. This makes it difficult for us to obtain warranty services. We installed a lock box and are willing to let service people enter the home. Post closing we have noticed several areas of shoddy workmanship. We are fixing them ourselves.

We had a very positive experience with our Sales Representative, Danielle, but the Construction Manager was a poor communicator, and subsequently, as we have discovered later, and poor manager. The buying process was smooth. I was expecting a higher grade of materials and appliances. Craftsmanship was lacking in the overall build. Areas that needed touch up are being addressed, but still not complete. We do like the neighborhood and the style of home is just right for us.

Our general contractor was great on trying to get things done with the backlog of materials being done, but some of the trades were not as quality in their work ethics as they should have been. Trying to get issues (minor or major) resolved has been challenging once you go to settlement.

We had problems from when rugs were installed and they tired to cover up the problem only to fined out the first time I vacuumed they put fibers in a hole in my rug which the vacuum sucked them up now have a hole which they can’t seem to give us a solution to. Main issues with our home is details mainly but not limited to painting. These issues were brought up prior to closing, closing was July 14, and it is August 31st and the issues are still not resolved. Our side yard is still wet every day and that leak is still there and we can not get help to resolve this issue.

I paid for upgrade paint and doesn’t cover. . And painters didn’t give another coat. I was told paint company having problems with the color I chose. Supervisor wouldn’t let me change color since painters have to come back. So I’m stuck with paint that doesn’t cover.

Project manager was great until we left his review. After we gave him a good review, he has never returned our calls. We had broken screens we wanted replaced and deep scratches in our cabinets. Loud music all day from the workers, working and banging til way after dark.(10:30pm)Garbage all over from subcontractors even in ponds.There is no maintaining of roads due to construction debris. Most important there are no weather heads on the intake of the furnace inlet on the roof on any of the houses including ours.

Quite an eye opening experience overall. If we go back to our “walk thru” - we find marks on my driveway. I was told I could have a piece of concrete replaced OR I could choose gutters - one or the other. First - gutters were never offered to me when “building” things for my home. And things that I said I would absolutely want for my home - I find out after close that I am unable to get like other neighbors have. Pulte Finance is the worst!

My story is too long to tell about the finance division, but I felt like I was watching a version of The Kindergarten Keystone Cops! Sooo inexperienced and deceptive. I reported them to several government agencies for their shady business actions. Sales agent Cynthia was great, but “left out” important information about the homes structure elements and use of the amenities. The Construction manager Ryan was awesome. He pulled everything together for us so we went through with the purchase. I have yet to find a problem other than a few dead azaleas.

We are so frustrated with Pulte. We have leaking doors, an upgraded electrical package that was installed incorrectly, missing fixtures, a beautiful but faulty sliding glass door that needs repair, sticky paint, a leaking shower and the list goes on and on. Communication is terrible. I receive work orders for things to be repaired and then no one shows up. None of these issues have been addressed and we have been in the house for over a month. If you buy from Pulte be prepared for a long list of issues and top dollar for shotty work. It’s no wonder they have pending lawsuits.
