Just closed on a new Pulte home and the they tried their best to get me to close with most of the finish work sub standard. I spent lots of energy getting them to do a half decent job when they tried to pass off substandard work. Subs rush through the work and don't care a bit about getting things straight, flat, or aligned. Pulte will attempt to fix things if you complain but even then it's still minimal quality. Go for a base home and add things after closing. Any extras you pay for aren't worth it because the workmanship is so poor. Make sure you get everything in writing because ...

We have several issues mainly related to design and architecture ranging from unreachable switches to rain water getting into the house from exterior door. Can’t even open the back door of suv while parked in the garage. The plumbing clean outs are installed in the master closet!!!!! The namesake laundry room is designed poorly. I could go on…..

When purchasing a Pulte Home it is imperative that you have the home inspected by an independent home inspector at least 20 days prior to closing. Please do not underestimate how important this step is.

The good - Attentive and cooperative Sales team, decent project and construction managers, excellent team in lending department. The Bad - Really poor quality construction and craftsmanship. Too many issues with the house. Pulte outsources most of the construction to 3rd parties and they do a terrible job. Home inspector caught a lot of serious problems. You will notice cracks, crooked panes, windows, electrical outlets after moving in. Cabinet doors and drawers were not aligned. First day moving into a new home we found out HVAC system was turned off due to bad circuit breaker and this is during peak winter. Also found door bell does not work. This is bad I did not expect this from Pulte builders. I dont know what else I will find out more in the future. I think quality of materials worsened.

We had a terrible time fighting with Pulte about weather proofing issues before windows were put in. The house was filthy when we moved in, and I’m tired of fighting to have things corrected that weren’t done correctly the first time.

Not a happy customer... 1) Two days after negotiating and signing contract, Pulte lowered their base pricing by 10,000 and drastically reduced the pricing of all upgrades. This wiped out any of the concessions we received in negotiation. We could have backed out of the contract, lost our $5,000 deposit, re-signed a new contract with new pricing and still saved thousands. In no way did Pulte make us feel like we were valued at all as customers. The location was very desirable, but the Quality was not. Expectations for a nearly $400K unit were simply NOT met. The upgrades which were nearly $50K, were done with very little attention to Quality. My expectations for a new build were similar to purchasing a new car, yet this Pulte Townhome offered very little of that. Poor quality was evident in the painting, caulking, trim work. Pulte handed over to several vendors for construction. Many individuals are freshets and don’t know basics. They simply experiment on Home. The quality of all the materials feel very cheap and the work looks like it was rushed. For the price paid I definitely expected at least a bit more quality in regards to carpets, vinyl sheets in bathrooms and flooring.

Quality of workmen ship and materials used were not even up-to the mark. Construction managers had no control on the contractors. They just do things on their own. I would say, they deployed some freshers to do the job and they did what they can do. Most of the items in the house had issues. They tried masking these up during the walkthrough. Upon using these items on a daily basis we started seeing issues. Not accommodating to minor modifications. House was NOT done at time of closing. For the price would have expected a much higher quality. Construction cleanliness was extremely poor, we had several nearby under construction and constantly had to pick up trash at our house.

One word to say about pulte is “Worst”. Right from the beginning of home contract signing nothing went according to the plan. Delivery date got pushed 4 times without any prior notice. I was literally homeless for almost 23 days staying in hotels and friends place due to Pultes last minute date push. No compensation was provided with all these issues. More over after moving in, house is sub par. Floors are with paint stains, my master bathroom was completed after a month of move in. Still open issues yet to be addressed by service team. Worst sales consultants to begin with. Construction manager is never available for questions. The in answer he had S is that a host is built by humans so it will have issues and defects and will never be perfect. This is his standard answer to all the lousy workmanship on the house. Absolutely poor quality build.
