We purchased a new townhome built by Pulte Homes in Apex, NC, and unfortunately, our experience has been below expectations. The overall workmanship feels rushed and sloppy — issues we pointed out before closing were either covered up or cosmetically “fixed,” not properly addressed. After closing, getting anything resolved was an uphill battle. The sales and project management teams became unresponsive, and the warranty team hasn’t been much better. The materials used seem subpar: paint quality is poor, floors squeak everywhere, and you can feel the whole building shake when someone walks up ...

The finishing on the house looks cheap, especially the painting job, it looks like workers got zero supervision and they really don't care on quality of workmanship, it was really disappointing...

The sales agents in the community were very helpful. I feel as if the quality of the townhome and the value is well below the experience I had in 540 Townes (Apex) in 2018. I really like the location and floor plan. The overall experience was not the building manager's doing as I felt he tried his very best to do what he could do getting called in to complete the project right before my closing. The walls need significant repair and the noise level that can be heard from neighbors is very disappointing. It has much more of an apartment feel than a half million dollar townhome.

quick home purchase at Prestwick, Apex

We purchased a quick home from the builder’s inventory. The home is fine, but the sales contract number differs from the actual closing numbers. For instance, the sale contract states $174 monthly HOA dues, but the actual HOA account shows $181.33 monthly. Before closing, and after closing, there are no change orders or other changes. We reached out to all Pulte departments, but no one seems to know who to contact regarding the monthly HOA price increase. This price hike occurred without any prior notice or legal letter, how it is possible? Let us know who can help us to resolve the issue. ...

I'm a seasoned home buyer having built many homes during my adult life. Pulte was great in having a good selection of floor plans which would meet our needs. The pre-selected design packages reduced our stress of having to choose everything in the house. Customer service thus far has been responsive and all Pulte employees have been very nice.

Lee, the construction manager was great. He has been very responsive to our needs. However, dealing with PulteMortgage was less than ideal. I have an 850 credit score, but they were very nick picky before finally approving my eligibility for a mortgage.

Dan in the sales office was great. Chris the construction manager answered all of my questions. The house was completed and closed ahead of schedule. I love the new house, and I don’t even have a punch list - I can’t find a defect.

My recommendation would be to focus on quality installation of door knobs, hinges, etc. and some of the fine detail in that area. I noted poor craftsmanship in those areas. All others were excellent.

Bad experience to buy a home at Pulte

Overall, it is not worth to buy the home - house was not ready but pushed to close - after move in, noticed the quality of workmanship and materials are poor - found repair issues more than I expected - the warranty team responses the repair request quick but some vendors are not doing the repair good.

Build quality is not a 5 rated. it just average. all house have same issues, even till the issues not fixed at closing day itself. Grass is also not good quality. lot of other issues with homes.
