The company refuses to solve any of the problems you point out about the homer unless you get someone who is very knowledgeable to argue with them. Things such as bumps all over the floors and a gaping gap between the floor and the parking garage door, half an inch crevice between the stove counter, walls that are protruding by about 1-2 inches, which are all normal according to Pulte. The small problems involves a crooked oven and microwave, which is useable but it could look better. Another is random nails missing from door hinges, which again is useable, but really could just not forget the nails maybe? Either way, I understand there may be problems with a new build, either due to lack of attention from the workers (they had beer cans all over the place when we came to check the unbuilt house), or unpreventable problems like shrinkage, but I really do not like being told obvious problems are "normal". ... Everyone was very helpful through the entire process. I would not recommend the upgrade to the cabinets- they are substandard and not worth the price. Not what we expected for sure.

We were initially very excited to work with Pulte to build our home, but quickly saw that what matters most is not customer satisfaction, but the bottom line for Pulte. I understand that Pulte a business and profits are a part of that, but as the build progressed I was shocked by consistently shoddy workmanship. For example, we had multiple crooked walls that weren’t fixed on their own even though they were visibly crooked. We had to insist they be fixed. Some contractors used were dishonest about mistakes they made that had to be fixed later, and the contractors were trusted over us by Pulte despite us having photo evidence of the issues. Issues in our flooring that were bright up early on (gaps in the wood that weren’t filled, which we can feel through the padding and carpet now) and gaps in the wall that we were assured would be fixed properly were not and have affected the aesthetics and comfort of our home. They tried to rush our closing even though the house was not ready. The finishes that needed to be fixed before we would agree to close were thrown together and poorly done. No house is perfect, but I was genuinely surprised by the poor quality of work overall. When friends ask for my advice on building a home, I will not recommend Pulte based on our experience, especially given the expense. ... More

Pulte associates were all great to work with at each step of the buying & building process.

A good experience overall. Our sales rep was forthright and honest. Our construction manager stayed on top of construction issues, although he coulbetter communicator. communicator. Ultimately, we're very satisfied with the home.

Now that we are in our home we see a major lack of attention to detail. Paint on flooring, trim and carpet. Adhesive in various places on flooring. Vinyl floor has an obvious slit that just had glue applied over that area. Caulk drips that won’t come off. Water damaged door. There is a lack of care for the new finishes in our home. A response to theses issues has been non existent so far.

The whole process with pulte has been a struggle from the get go, there was a lack of communication throughout the process and many questions that we asked to get answered that were not. After moving in we have had many issues with the home just within the first month and as of now the value of the home we paid for does not seem to match the quality expected.

We love our new home. It truly is our dream home. If I could change anything it would be the quality of the paint. We have been in for two months and already need to repaint the entire first floor due to scuffs , peeling and drywall breaking off. I don’t want to ding the crews because everyone did a nice job but the paint is the least durable paint I have ever seen .

Overall smooth process from initial contact through closing. I would recommend Pulte Homes . Only concern is with some of the sub contractors paying a little more attention to the detail in each portion of the building process.

Working with the Field Manager was great. I think the quality of workmanship is not so great. I feel the home was completed as quickly as possible. They did not take the time to do the trim work. Nail holes are sticking out or rough. Had to seal my own grout behind the stove and master shower. We were told they use good insulation, but the home has a chill to it. Overall we love the home and the layout is great.

The final product is poor quality. Bad craftsmanship throughout the entire home. They rushed through the build it it shows. We have structural issues as well as "cosmetic" issues. It seems the structural issues would not have been brought to our attention by our construction manager and WE had to bring these to his attention. So it seems they knew about the issues but wasn't going to tell us. My worry is what else was rushed through during the build that we cannot see. We were turned away originally in March only to have our contract accepted in May with a huge price increase. The price increase was marketed on a higher quality home since it is now "Pulte" and not Centex anymore. I would be afraid to see what the Centex product was if this is the better quality home. Been a pleasure dealing with Pulte before and after the sale of our home. There are always minor issues once you close on a home and they have been very responsive and rectify any outstanding issue immediately

First the walls are so thin that you can hear any conversation from one room to the other with the doors closed. Second, the finishing touches are simply the worst. Third, a large amount of things have to be redone, it never ends. After living at the house for some time now things are still trying to be corrected.

Need to stay vigilant & don't assume anything. Caught numerous mistakes missed by Pulte Field Manager

All aspects of the build were great!

I understand in this economic climate there's a lot of "hurry up and wait" with subcontractors. A week before close you look at the house and think certainly it won't be ready. They then rush to close because they have to meet their month-end quotas. Two days before close we do a walkthrough ("Build Quality Celebration") and point out a lot of cosmetic, attention to detail issues. You then don't get another opportunity to inspect the house. I close and it turns out a number of walk-through items weren't completed, such as a missing outlet cover, trash in the garage, trim separating from the wall and doors not flush. After a week of no response after requesting "Customer Service," the initial response is these should have been addressed at walk-through, anything post-close is a "maintenance issue" and "wait a year for the house to settle." In addition to missed walk-through items, almost immediately I start discovering stuff like a wall of outlets not working (wiring issue), two doors not flush and lifting off their hinges, and a bathroom drawer collapsed because the back of the track was never secured to the cabinet. I'm told those aren't structural. But minor things really make you start to question major things. They blame the subs, say they use the same subs as other builders, say this is common to all new homes...yet these are all things that would have been caught if their construction supervisor had come in after the subs and inspected the work. It makes you question what quality assurance processes are in place. The starting place never seems to be resolution but the knee-jerk reaction seems to consistently be to throw the contract legalese back at you...which is effort that would be better directed in addressing the issue. We had a great experience. However, there are a lot of finishes overlooked or rushed. We haven’t been in the house 2 months and we already have along list of issues. There needs to be a person who only works with new home owners for the first few month after close. After close, the project lead is done and customer care isn’t super responsive.

Overall good experience, frustrated by all of the delays but understood the causes

The sales people are great,design team does great job, building process could be better,in spite of waiting close to 9 months from giving deposit at closing time there are deficits in work and finish quality, once Pulte receives money at closing responsiveness of all vendors in correcting deficits before closing date takes back seat because they are so busy doing work on new homes , I guess Pulte got the money from you so where are you going to go.

Don't be so excited to close, that you overlook items in your home that should be fixed, installed, or completed with the the highest quality before closing. Also if your gut tells you something should not be a certain way don't be afraid to question it and then follow up on it.
