Expensive, not perfect, but very responsive!

I recently purchased a quick-close home with Pulte. I can’t comment on the design process. The sales team was very responsive and helpful before and after the process. They allowed me access to the home to get windows measured for blinds prior to close. The construction manager walked me through the home and explained the ins and outs very well. When I moved in the shower leaked, the dishwasher leaked and the AC didn’t turn on. The warranty team was extremely responsive. The AC was fixed in a matter of hours and the leaks were fixed quickly as well. Overall, I worry about the resale value of ...

Pretty smooth process for buying. We bought another persons house who backed out so I can’t speak to the materials selection process. We had to move our closing date back a day because final inspections weren’t done, which was stressful coordinating a cross country move. Then we had a plumbing issue on night one with water coming out of a ceiling vent but they were there the next day to help fix it. We’ve been in the house just over two months and have noticed some issues with quality.

Overall I would rate Pulte a 4 ob scale of 5, due to lack of flexibility in some changes/additions. Quality was as expected and follow up has been good. Some minor is Pulte should have alerted the new owners, like no mail delivery after 60 days and “smart Home” with coordination between Guardian and Spectrum would have been appreciated. Communication on details.

Good Overall, but Lacking in Final Touches

I gave an overall 4-star rating and a 3-star for quality due to a few unresolved issues. During the walkthrough, the builders mentioned they would return to seal and buff the seam on the countertops in the owner's bathroom, which remains an eyesore—but that follow-up never occurred. Additionally, there are noticeable inconsistencies in the paint finish, with some door frames showing mismatched areas where gloss paint was used instead of semi-gloss, affecting the overall appearance. The buying process was great!

Had a rocky start to the home buying experience as builder kept pushing to buy lots that we were not interested in and spending a premium for those lots. Once we came to an agreement on the lot, the process with the builder Project Mgr. Nick was actually very pleasant. The design center was a little bit of a disappointment as some of the items we selected before our actual meeting were discontinued. I think all around house buying is a really stressful experience but Pulte does a good job of making sure that you’re comfortable throughout the whole process and they make sure you are in the loop with Every step. Jeremiah is a god send. He always checking up to make sure your home is up to par and is so attentive to his buyers.

Overall, I could tell that high-quality materials were used throughout the home. I also appreciated the prompt responses to any questions or service requests. Quality of home and materials was overall up to standards and workmanship was 8 out of 10. Our building manager was knowledgeable and responsive. Some original design decisions were unusual and sometimes difficult to make a change. Appliance quality was satisfactory but upgrades not available. Fair price. Home buying process and staying on schedule was very good however.

Our building manager, Don H, was very responsive. He addressed our issues in timely manner. Our sales person did use the sales tactics and said prices are going up "next week." Eight months later, I saw that the price remained the same. I am disappointed.

I must say, we have only been there 2 months, so it may be too soon to rate it. We would know more in 11 months. We had a good experience through out the build. But I am truly disappointed, rather, upset by how the final presentation was given. I had asked 2-3 times if they will clean the house before we move in and it was overwhelmingly a disappointment. Yes, the house was cleaned but not well enough. After a clean, workers would come back with dirty shoes and track the dirt through out the house. We started this in June and moved in January, and the entire process was seamless. Our complaints are with the trades. There are so many oops in our home that need to be fixed that we feel bad for the project manager. We have baseboards with dents and door frames with notches that clearly should have never passed final inspection. We have walls that had indents that the painters completely missed. The quality of materials used is what drew me to the Pulte Homes at the beginning of my search for a new home. Pulte in comparison to the other builders, the Pulte Homes aren’t just cheaply put together. I also like that they offer the larger homes with large lots where you have space & privacy from your neighbors. The homes are strategically placed to give the homeowners the utmost privacy.

I'd have liked to give 5 stars instead of 4 stars, but the inability to make changes to customize was an issue. No pocket door option, no custom-built closets, and having to buy packages of appliances with no individual appliance choices were issues for me. The home we built on the East Coast gave us these options. Our construction manager David was fabulous though.
