Over all it was an okay experience. The workmanship seems rushed and we don’t feel like it was detail oriented due to it was a bigger company with many units that were being worked on all at once. With staffing changes within the company, as buyers we suffered insufficient communication which lead to some complications with our overall process.

My overall experience with Pulte has been fair not great. I'll start with the positives then go into the negatives. The staff at Pulte Mortgage do a great job of staying on top of the home buying process. I've been in my new home a little over two months and it's starting to feel like home after living in hotels and an apartment for almost a year. We have been in our house for about 7 weeks and the biggest thing I noticed is how best up the cabinets got during the remainder of the build. Our cabinets have so many knicks and scratches. Also, two of the side panels of the kitchen cabinets have what looks paint overspray on the bottom. It looks absolutely awful. It's disappointing because they don't look like brand new cabinets. Pulte should consider covering the cabinets after install to protect them.

I had a great experience through the home buying process, however after closing the experience left much to be desired. None of the walk through items were completed prior to closing. I had to drive through a snowstorm to get to closing as they did not move, only to get to a dirty house with none of the punch list items completed. It has also been a bumpy process getting things done on the punch list and for new pop up items. During this time of shortages of material and labor Pulte was able to get our home built- just later than expected. We had 4 projected closing dates. It seemed that the focus was on getting the building done more than on the home buyers at some points. When we closed there were some issues and the important one was addressed but some of the other items are still waiting attention. We do like the design and basic quality of our house and would buy from Pulte in the future

Unfortunately having a home built at this time is a challenge. Trades have not been consistent with following up. We still have not had our termite barrier done after more than a month. There are still red tape marks in and around the house. We found our microwave does not work properly after being in this house less than a month and we have to wait for a service to come and decide to fix or replace it. I was in overseas and could not get the inspection check. Site manager has did the inspection and checked everything is good, but I have issues with door locks for garage door, bedroom door, and ground floor bath door has closet lock, and some other issues were reported via email to site manager but no response. Not satisfied because if pulte can’t take care of minor issues then I doubt for major.

In this crazy time with supply issues and home prices continuing to rise, we feel we got a great house in a new community. I think building with this builder, although we knew supply issues were a concern, they were able to keep the construction going and delays were minimal. Happy with the process. While the Pulte sales and the Pulte title groups were exceptionally good, the finish quality and the HVAC work in the home was sub-par and in some cases incomplete. Calls for warranty work were also sub-par.

Overall the experience was a good one. From the moment we met our sales consultant to the very end at closing, everyone maintained a professional and courteous attitude. We chose to finance with Pulte mortgage and besides some minor communication issues everything went well. The closing was smooth and much better than I was expecting. their field manager is super friendly and try to offer help for everything they know. However, the sales promised to refund $500 for replacement of microwave, however, the house closed more than 3 mont, still not receive it, asked couple of times to their sales, either no response or no helpful information.

We were okay with the process until the long brick delay. We got told the same thing every time, the brick is delayed. We are pushing back close a week, finally when I spoke up that I was displeased it seemed to light a fire under them and a couple weeks later we got some progress. Also, when we did our final walk through we had several things that were not corrected and several items new that we found. We were basically told if this list keeps going we wouldn't close.

Good experience overall. However, Pulte doesn't offer customization. It would be nice if 1% to 2% of the budget was for personal customizations especially for older people. In the noise of building there were too many lapses on their part of what we wanted. Their response usually was that "is was not in the contract", well yes, if Pulte didn't write it down and put it in the contract. But overall the workmanship is good, layout is good, and response from company is good.
