Pulte in Indiana builds some nice homes and we had a good experience with sales and Mortgage folks. Due to the skyrocketing home prices and Pulte trying to sell as much as humanly possible to get money, their workmanship went down quite a bit. Along with high turnover rates in their own employees on the construction side, it’s becoming a bit of a nightmare. If your planning to buy a pulte home, I would still recommend but understand you need a high level of due diligence and its best to get all their work double checked by outside parties.

Building process went well, however the workmanship when the home was closed was unacceptable. There was a cut out on the wall, caulking missing in places, areas not painted.

It was great until closing approached. Rather than move date back Pulte rushed. We have been in our home 6 weeks and have submitted over 30 work orders and spent hours scheduling and arguing over repairs.lte

With Pulte you get a mixed bag. Overall the people we’ve worked with directly were conscientious and well intentioned and responsive to our questions and requests. The finish workmanship detail has been very poor, especially with regard to painting (front door entry, spiral staircase, front exterior) and front brick work. Very sloppy on detail. The price/value of the home does not equal the price. We felt rushed to go to design before we were even sure about getting a mortgage. As the building process progressed, it would have been nice to change a few things. Design should go through options better. Products used are definitely lower quality and pride of workmanship lacking.

I expected them to be more forthcoming about information of delays in finishing the build. They ignored the fact that people are selling their homes and it is important to have a time frame.

I expected a more quality build. The floor looks like the material was left over from a store. One of the doors didn't latch properly and the bedroom window is leaking quite a bit of air causing the room to be cooler than the rest of the rooms. It is only a one bedroom home so I expect the heat to be very consistent.

Overall have been happy with my new home. However, I did have an issue where I needed to file a warranty claim due to a pipe leak, and it has nearly bred 2 months without resolution. I am still waiting for repairs to finish and have not been given a timeline for when to expect them to be done. Very unhappy with how this issue has been handled.

Biggest disappointment was in the very shoddy workmanship, with painting of doors. There are dried paint runs and finger prints on the doors. It was brought up but they never addressed it, pretty muy new us off. Garage floor lines are crooked or not square and cracked floor. Molding already coming off the walls in less than six weeks. Address plate was poorly painted as well, was supposed to be fixed and they never did. Overall very disappointed in the quality, especially when you pay as much as we did got this home. I DON’T recommend PULTE homes.

Pulte Mortgage requires a lot of disclosures when you purchase from them. And at the end, they sell your loan. I’m still waiting on a 30 day walkthrough after 6 weeks of living in my home. It’s time consuming to get your issues looked at and discussed with the builder. Pulte does build a beautiful home though.

Frustrating Close Process

The overall build process was good, but we were severely rushed through the close process. We were asked to sign off on items that weren’t fixed in order to not delay our close. We were promised multiple times that the remaining items would be fixed immediately. But we’re over a month post close and most of these items remain open. Multiple times we’re been told they were coming by to fix then nobody shows up.

It's difficult to thoughtfully rate our home buying experience in such a brief summarization. By far there are more positives than negatives. Building a home is a huge undertaking, and no matter how hard you plan, there will be things that go wrong. Unfortunately those are the things that stand out when asked in a rating like this. Our sales rep., Gita Adib, was lovely and very helpful. Our field manager, Shawn Turner, was very nice and responsive to our concerns. We have to say that after closing, responsiveness is NOT good. We were given 30 days from closing to email a list with cosmetic concerns that we wanted addressed. Most, if not all, of our concerns were noted at our "Celebration" walk through and not taken care of. Appliamce s are look like the lowest price ones and cqbinet drawrrs are falling out because they used wrong size od screws used. Third time and seems like it will keep happening until all replaced by longer screw sized.

We just built a home through Pulte in Estero Florida. We went with Pulte because it was either them or Lenar in our HOA. I think the process went very well but certain things that we have experienced recently are the reasons for the mixed review. I bought a new brand new house for $800K and in less than 2 weeks of receiving and haven't even moved there and I found a significant water leak in one of the bathroom, haven't the entire wall to be damaged and full of mold, cousin me a big disruption on my plans to move in.

While we are mostly happy with our purchase, there are a couple of things that prevent us from giving a glowing review. The plumbing fixtures that were used seem to be low end items. While we expect that there will be some issues with new construction, Pulte's customer service team has been unable to respond quickly or give us a time frame for their team to address the issues.
