We thought Pulte homes are highest quality and workmanship but after moving we are disappointed with the way construction happend. It seems like rushed construction made distortions, defects. we are raising warranty tickets to correct them. Also we bought this home just for school purpose but school zone changed next day of our move in. So please tell customers likelyhood of changing school zone

So I would like to give my opinion on the whole pulte process, initially given a day in October to close, they wanted it done by September so I agreed and went ahead with it, Steve did a good job finishing things up and house looked good at closure, a couple of issues existed which he was prompt with, even though he got sick he still responded, I do appreciate that, still one more issue we are waiting on but I am not sure if its due to health issues so I of course will be patient, now the mortgage side was not very well done, I think they wanted to close so they could quickly turn around and sell the mortgage off, which they did in 11 days, before the first payment was done, I was told by pulte mortgage that they gave the new loan holder my current mailing address which never happened, never got a letter stating the change in loan holder, after multiple calls to pulte, the letter was resent, also was told they had a breach with their system, which explains why I could never get set up in it, finally after getting multiple tries I was able to get a real person who did not have our current mailing address , why I should have to spend hours doing this is ridiculous, anyway, thats my story, thanks ... Took 8 months to build which was longer that was told. Cost was high plus interest rate increase made it go up even more. It's a great house and we like it a lot, but it took a lot of sacrifice to purchase.

IMPORTANT: Above ratings are distorted (lower) because of 1 group. 1) Pulte HQ communication was excellent 2) Customer Service once moved in was/ is outstanding. MIke and Chandler understand and truly exhibit the meaning of customer centric. .A few things they did made such a positive impact and we appreciate them. 3) Sales after P&S was fine for very minor things but several key and critical aspects , so important to us, were a challenge after challenge and frustration. They lacked an understanding of how to communicate, work with, exhibit even some flexibility and how to value customers. although 99% is as expected there are lingering issues not resolved since closing about 40 days ago. There is an gas odor coming from the sinks especially bathroom sinks that a plumber was supposed to come and fix but the construction site manager told us they should have contacted us we have not heard a word. The HOA was to approve putting gutters and storm doors so we could add these and again no word after sending in the information. Pulte Mortgage was a total insane disaster and luckily we were able to scramble at the end and pay with cash for closing. Pulte Mortgage put us through living hell for weeks and would have caused us to lose all our warranties because they could not close in the name and just told us to change the title after we purchased. The best term you could use for Pulte Mortgage is a group of complete morons and incompetent buffoons. I have had 4 major issues to communicate with Pulte customer service and they completely side stepped 3 of the 4 by telling me i had to deal with it myself (items affecting the entire community not just us). If I could change something it would be the elevation and house selection which was rushed and not explained at all. Explanation about structural add ons to the house was poor and lot appearance features like height and elevation not explained. I had no idea the about the details like shingles, garage door appearance etc. Craftsmanship and, closing has overall been good.

Our experience with Pulte Homes was a mixed bag, as there were positives and negatives. The construction of the home and quality of workmanship were positive. The support we received as customers along the way was not. We had to ask questions repeatedly to get responses. When we made simple requests we often received passive aggressive answers and countless excuses from Gail, who was supposed to be an advocate for us. Our Pulte Closing Coordinator treated our title company and agent in a very negative and condescending way, which was upsetting. After closing when we drove over 30 minutes to pick up our keys, we were treated with skepticism instead of welcomed as new buyers who had already paid our down payment. Our customer care manager was kind at the pre-orientation walk through, but then transitioned to being short with us and "putting us in our place" - we feel far from supported. In a world where customer is king, we feel this experience has been underwhelming to say the least. We are happy with the home, but the overall feeling of being unsupported lasts and it's important to give an honest review of this. ... More

The onsite sales team were great to work with - very professional and helpful. They exemplify a brand of excellence. Kudos to the onsite sales team ! I cannot say the same with the construction side. My home was originally scheduled to close in June and eventually it closed near the end of September. I understood this was due to the sliding glass door and window parts being fabricated outside the USA as well as some issues with the distributor resulting in Pulte not being able to obtain the parts to finish the job as originally scheduled. It is also my opinion that the windows and sliding doors are not the best quality that could have been used. Pulte scheduled the closing while there were still issues to be resolved such as bedroom windows that could not be locked, and window frame closure strips and screens were not installed prior to closing. During the walk through several windows broke upon opening them and they had to be repaired. The ceramic wall tile in the guest shower was improperly installed where the ceramic tile window sill was installed "above" the aluminum window sill making it impossible for the aluminum closure strips for the windows to be installed. This will require the shower tile to be cut out so that a new corian sill can be installed to be below the aluminum window sill - all of this I have to deal with after I had already moved in. In addition my home inspector noted an electrical safety issue with exposed wires on the motor for the garage door opener which still has not been covered. When I pointed out the exposed electrical wire to Pulte's onsite construction manager, he responded "they are all like that and that is how it is." The post closing customer service team has been good to work with at scheduling to get these items fixed. ... More

My home took 4 months longer than the original estimate, and almost 8 months longer than homes the same builder built in another community. We had to inspect the house almost weekly to bring issues to the attention of the construction manager or they wouldn't be resolved. And despite that, it has taken several months to resolve all of the issues. And these aren't small issues either. It feels as though they're building them as fast as they can, forgetting to compare to plans, and then expecting the owner/warranty to fix issues after the sale. I don't appreciate it.

For what we paid for the house, was expecting better finish quality. The lawn is not in great shape, one of the kitchen cabinet doors broke within the first month, the trim work is not neat, the master bath took 3 attempts to get the tile fixed and it is still mediocre, etc.

Please take your time when doing a final walkthrough and do not rush. If more time is needed please submit in writing for the time. I missed more things that needed fixed than I realized. I suggest Pulte Homes use a better product in their showers. When sitting on the Master bathroom bench be careful because once the product is wet, you will start sliding. I will be installing a hand rail and sitting on a towel to prevent any mishaps.

I have built five custom homes before our rowhome and I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the build and the lack of high quality products in our million dollar home.

The plan and the layout of the home is one of the best in the market. However, the quality control of the execution wasn’t upto the standard you’d expect in an expensive home such as this. Tthere were several issues identified during the final walk through that the closing had to be pushed by a couple of days. So many minor issues with paining, drywall, flooring, caulking etc. had to be attended to during the first few days after moving.

After closing on the house during move in, we realized the floors upstairs were not level in several places. The builder sent in people to repair while we were trying to move in. The builder in charge of the repairs has been great in trying to resolve the issues. Ultimately, they waited to work after we left. When we went back after the repairs, the floors still have some irregularities. They say they will continue to level them. What is concerning, is the house should have never passed their inspection in the first place. It’s hard to believe that they never noticed the issues. I realize it’s cookie cutter, but Pulte should do better. There’s obviously not enough supervision with checking the work being done. I was considering building another home in their new development. Love my house and although a good journey, there bumps, unsettling surprises, delays, headaches and things that could have gone and could have been done better.

Without these 2 men, the experience would continue to be a mess. Pulte is not a trustworthy company to be honest and you have to be on top of them at all times. These 2 men who are our construction team have been the buffer and the silver lining to the rest of what has happened. We were not given a pre foundation meeting we should have had due to yet another firing of a construction manager which seems to be rampant (our neighbor had 4!!) and without that meeting we had NO idea our home was going to A) be on a ski slope and B) be set so far back we lose have our yard. NONE of this was explained during that crucial meeting we were not given. Yet the Vice President of construction (we think that’s his title) who came out here literally was condescending and a real jerk to us when we were so upset about this. He just kept giving us the company line. The city of Westfield is also another story. They gave us a song and dance how they were “concerned” about our happiness and then talked out of 2 sides of their mouth when it really came down to it. We had heard prior the city was not “pro-homeowner” but this sealed the deal. Not the welcome we expected to a new city either. The house itself is too new to know what will and won’t happen. So far we have had some minor issues that the two men i mentioned have gone above and beyond to make sure they’re done right. But as far as Pulte itself? We’ve experienced both a production builder and a custom in the past we would not go this route again. Barely any choices except for shades gray or white on everything with one choice for cream or a weird unfinished brown. No choice on exterior doors or windows. No changes. Not any. So it’s not the dream home for the price we paid but things we can change. The Lot we cannot. If we recommended building to someone, it would not be this type of building as they have become too rote and rigid as “production” builders. But the attitude of what we believe was the VP if construction towards us has completely soured us during a brief meeting and his attitude towards us after. Could not recommend Pulte solely based on the experience of his take it or leave behavior. I’ve been in customer service for 27 years and I pay close attention to how I’m treated. These 2 men gave the BEST customer service and continue to. Pulte should be fully aware how amazing they are to their clients and their attention to detail. Good Design and good location

Just submitted a list of items that need attention, will know better in a couple of weeks how to rate the build quality.

The house was delayed for months. It took 1 year a two months to complete. It sat in framing with mechanicals in for 9 months. Pulte is simply a company relying on its founders good name and reputation. The regional construction executives have no idea that the day to day operations and execution is being completed by unskilled day laborers with one English speaking leader whose idea of excellence in construction is based on their home country’s standards which is mostly sub par. I will not build with Pulte again. The aggravation of waiting so long and finally having a product delivered that you can not sign off on for closing has spoiled the building experience for me. We purchased a spec home so we will Half to upgrade appliances as we go, they were the low end KitchenAid. The final closing could’ve been a lot more organized as far as utility hook ups ,trash containers delivered ,code for the gate. All this took time, and I feel it should have taken place at the time of closing and receiving your keys. Steve. and Jose, the two foreman communicated well with us.They’re very best to get the punchlist taken care of before Taking possession. Some items did not get done due to parts availability, etc., it will be taken care through the warranty department. We had an okay experience with the home buying process. The sales office and project manager were great to work with. We had a very upsetting experience with the Pulte Mortgage lender who preapproved us at 1.5% lower than their actual rate. We used another lender who was more than 1.5% lower than the mortgage company and Pulte came fighting for our business. We lost trust in them. The building of the homes is okay. There is poor craftsmanship throughout the home. I will say that they were addressed but a new counter top should not have a nick in it or the floors have repaired scratches. There was a lot of paint droppings on the floor and carpet that needed cleaned off. A few knobs are cross threaded. Overall, being a new build more attention should have been put in the workmanship and quality. ... More

Just make sure you get clarification on everything

Overall the experience has been fine. I was set on the lot so I built with Pulte. Our sales representative, Jessica was misinformed on a number of items so we had to push hard to try to get what was promised. Dustin was excellent during the entire build. Quality of material and some crews need to be improved at this price point.
