Dissapointed

The only thing i would give 5 starts to is the response and effectiveness of Customer Care Manager Chris and the Building Home Manager Loren. Anything else i would rate very poorly. The quality of the materials and home is very poor. Not withing 32 days and the brand new dryer breaks. The poor quality of the paint in the house. Not even a good welcome from the sales department. You are pretty much left alone to figure out you way around with the community. Was not given any directions or instructions as to how to get into the community with the sticker and fab was not even activated, ...

Our Experience with Pulte Homes

We are very disappointed in the representation of Pulte through their sales representative Jane. She was extremely aggressive and rude when we asked about a drainage system that was placed in our backyard. The drainage system was not represented on any surveys, nor was it disclosed to us. When we saw the house it was covered. Instead of trying to come to a solution we were told "Just cancel" multiple times. This was very unprofessional and unreasonable as we were to close on the property in a few days. After speaking with her supervisor a solution to the issue was presented to us but not to ...

Our home built by Pulte is ok. Why do I say that...just ok. It lacks the crisp, detailed, workmanship as we saw with the model home. Switches are not flat to the surface, tiles are chipped, door stoppers are not placed as should have been, AC vent system is not effectively designed and installed...ect

The starting home price is deceptively low and then you pay extra for everything. Some of the workmanship was excellent and some was pretty average. Most of my concerns have been addressed about problems I discovered but, over five weeks later, a few have not. I have appreciated Pulte's willingness to work with us to get things taken care of.

All comes down to details. Trades hired are either going way too fast or don't care. If the sub-contracted companies bring their own installers, same thing. Either go too fast or don't care. Either way, the customer perception is the subcontractor work is poor. This has to be corrected for future builds. Items customer notice the most: Flooring, drywall, paint, trim, light fixtures. One solution would be to bring in a 3rd party audit before final walk-thru with customer. This would help ensure a smooth transition to the buyer.

There were several issues from the closing process to finally moving in the home with several different things incomplete or never addressed during the building process. Currently still undergoing finishing touches to the home by the builder.

Too many decisions made for the customer, not by the customer. Mirrored floor plans create windows facing neighbors windows. Electric switches & conjoining lightening fixtures aren’t conducive to clients lifestyle. No rear porch option available. Would appreciate concrete driveway option and finished interior of garage. Should avoid nails in drywall as nail pops are visible. Hold subcontractors accountable for quality workmanship and to follow blueprints.

Would be a plus if Pulte hired some carpenters who know what a framing square was. Walls are so out of square it is hard not to cast your eyes on the defect. One short wall between doorways is 11 inches in length and 1inch out of square from end to end. It is a common problem through out the house, Very disappointing. Also a damaged washing machine that should have never been accepted or installed flooded our home and ditto for the dysfunctional water softener that re flooded our home a week later. There were other issues that have been addressed such as failing to cap the gas line to the ...

I closed at the end of July - but moved in at the end of August- I relayed a number of problems- no drainage holes for irrigation, foot prints in cement walkway, hot water heater tripping circuit breaker every day, no lock on courtyard gate, shower doors only open in, and now after rain last night - a leak in the roof of my garage - I am disappointed with the lack of response

Paper thin walls.. but otherwise pretty nice so far. Ongoing construction is terribly messy.

The walls are extremely thin. You can carry on conversations from one side of the house to another without raising your voice. And you don't have to bother going upstairs to talk to someone.. they can hear you right thru the floors. They could do a better job keeping the other construction sites clean. I've never seen houses under construction with so much mess around before. Other than that, it's nice being in a new house with new appliances. I'll definitely do more research into wall quality before I build another new house.

Seems like a good house, rushed finishes

The bones of the house seem really good and high quality. They rush the finishes and so the stuff you see everyday and the imperfections get pretty annoying. They are supposed to take care of all of that within a year though, so we will see. The warranty seems decent. The price seems high, especially since everything is an upgrade. But this is Santa Fe, and everything is expensive so it was okay for Santa Fe. It’s definitely better than other areas of Santa Fe. But, you could get a lot more in other parts of N.M. and a heck of a lot more in TX.

We started the paperwork for our new home on January 28, 2019. We also worked with two other mortgage companies for our loan. We where putting 50% down and financing 50% with the intentions of paying the house off in 5 years. We got home on February 5, 2019, which I spent 2 complete days getting all the information to all the mortgage companies for their underwriting companies. After 2 weeks we where pre-approved for the loan with the other 2 loan companies and our own bank. Pulte mortgage people we worked with where Sally and Sarah. Extremely poor indoor texture.

We were extremely happy with the building process until they started the interior buildout. The sub- contractor that Pulte used to install the interior texture did the worst job I have ever seen on texture. We actually asked Pulte to re-do all the texture in the house which they gladly did but it was impossible to get it all done to a quality standard. We were extremely disappointed that we had to live with the inferior texture but we had to close on our home as we had sold our existing home.

Construction process was good up until closing. Day of closing there were still workers in the home. Landscaping had not begun. The walk prior to closing had the home still waiting to be cleaned. The closing with Pulte Mortgage went well. Came back to house to find workers had left trash and some items were incomplete. Landscaping was not completed until almost 60 days after closing. Field Manager was unwilling to address items from the 30 day list due to our schedules not lining up during the summer. He said that policy was the reason. I reminded him of the fact the home wasn't ...

Too many negative happened during construction. Not the slightest bit of cooperation from the building side. Landscaping was a complete joke. Only positive results were from the sales, design and mortgage areas.

Let me begin with a positive, our location contact person Laura has been a huge help in the home building process and has gone to bat for us more than once. Our builder Lincoln has also been helpful and patient with us as well. My major issue is the quality of the products and the workmanship. We were very excited to purchase a new home in an area we love, but I am still waiting on actually enjoying my new home without finding something wrong. Typically it's little things you would feel silly pointing out, like spackle left on an outlet or portions of wall that may have only gotten one ...

I believe Pulte Homes is struggling with a skilled trades labor pool, as well as sufficient job site supervision. While there are a number of things that are flawless with our home, there are also a number of things that continue to be issues that should have been addressed. Pulte Homes presented themselves as craftsman that could provide an upscale home backed by a national brand. When push came to shove, the real answer, from their own mouths, is that they are just a production builder. If you are the type of customer that expects great attention to detail, you will need to be ...

Nice Home but Attention to Detail Needs Improvement

My neighbors have two story homes, and one of my neighbors has the ability to look into my shower from their second story windows. This is a privacy issue. The garage floor has several cracks in it, even though the house is new. The home warranty covered the repairs, though. Regarding security, the front patio and driveway lights were on a 30 minute timer vs. allowing the lights to stay on all night. I had to file a service request to get the lights fixed, when this issue should've been addressed before the close. A Maytag dryer purchased from Lowe's in 2016 was brought into the home, ...
