Disappointed with workmanship - very difficult to get Pulte to repair issues that were noticed when we first moved in.

We have been disappointed with the workmanship - we have had a list of as many as 15 items that needed repaired after we first moved in. Two months later, we are still waiting on most of them.

I chose Pulte because I knew I was going to use some upgrade materials. Bottom line the contractors are fair to mid. I would not recommend a Pulte home over any other reliable builder.

Not worh for money. the quality of materials was very bad and the design was not great. There is no room to take fridge in the kitchen , we strgulled a lot. we need to remove the stove to put the fridge inside , poor design. The front door doesnt make sense both the powderroom door and front door hit each other. the door will damage in few months itself . All the door quality is poor. The door stoppers are not planned where to place also. The staircase rails are just placed it can fall off any time its not glued also. Stove and granite is not connected in the side and the back of the ...

A little below average for a new home builder

As is typical with new home builders, particularly production builders, they will be more responsive when they don't have all your money yet (i.e., you haven't closed). Once you close you've got about 30 days to figure out what's not right (regardless of warranty), after that you might as well be invisible. We have bought new homes from a couple of different builders over the past few years. I would rate Pulte as slightly below average. Their after close responsiveness is about average (and average being not that good anyway), but their build quality, at least for our home, was below ...

Would I buy a Pulte home again... Questionable

Not sure where to begin so I will start from the time we decided to purchase the house. The front office seemed to be playing games with buyers. When we first started to look at this neighborhood they had the bidding process going on and we went on to bid so many times for specific lots even though there were plenty of open lots. Without a solid reason, we couldn't figure out why they wouldn't just open up lots. Seems they were a bit greedy and wanted people to pay more for the land than they actually were worth. Hence we gave up after multiple bids and losses due to outrageous amounts ...

Financed through Pulte. Lived on property approximately 2 months. Construction still going on in the rest of the development. Dealing with attitude and disrespect from construction workers who seem to forget that I paid A LOT of money to live in the home they built. Home quality- walls are paper thin. You can hear family members in the next room. You know EXACTLY where other members of the household are based on sound traveling through walls and floors. Property grading could have been better in regards to drainage, appearance, and livability. THE BIGGEST ISSUE. Based on home ...

Overall we are not happy with Pulte. They delayed the delivery of the property for 6 months, they changed the delivery date twice. They made us spend a lot of money waiting. We do not receive any incentive for delays and additional expenses. Low quality materials and finishes. I recommend Lennar without a doubt.

The quality of workmanship is low and it takes forever for them to come and fix the issues. The materials are very good but it is the opposite when it comes to workmanship and after sale support.

Horrible painter vendor

Pulte’s painter vendor did a horrible job. It’s obvious that the painter vendor only used 1 coat of paint on the walls, doors, and trim. At this price point, Pulte needs to provide more oversight of its painter vendor.

NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED

Pulte started out with a bang but began to fizzle out after our commitment to buy was signed. Our sales representative, Hanna, was excellent and had a firm grip on steering us through the buy/build process step by step, with weekly updates & pictures of the how things were progressing, but then was moved to another Pulte location and we were passed off to others within Pulte at our location. Things went downhill rapidly from there. Several weeks at a time would pass without contact from anyone at Pulte, "just the sound of crickets," before we had to reach out to them for any progress updates. ...

The home we bought was to be completed between Jan. and April with Feb as their goal. We closed June 12th. The interior of our brand new home was really dirty. We found shoddy workmanship everywhere we looked. There are holes in cabinets that expose the insulation. A week before our close we were at the property and heard a bulldozer hit our AC Unit. It knocked it off it's foundation and slammed it against the house. It was dented all over. We called and complained and we were told they would take care of everything. All they did was replace the dented exterior. The unit turns on with a ...

Love the design of the home, love most of the materials used, but I would only recommend going with this builder or any other builder if you having nothing but time, patience, and not be in a hurry to complete. That being said… The build took 1 year and 1/2 years to complete. Had I not paid beyond full price for this home considering the current market, I would have been more forgiving and flexible with the quality of the home. I do understand supply constraints and labor shortages, but Pulte really needs to figure out how to hold their contractors accountable for their work. The ...

Mixed Experience: Workmanship Issues and Delayed Response with Pulte Homes"

  • Syed A.

"Although my overall sales experience with Pulte Homes was positive, I must admit that I encountered some unexpected workmanship issues after closing on my new house. The quality of the construction did not meet my expectations, and I found it disappointing that the reported issues were not addressed in a timely manner. It would have been more satisfying if Pulte Homes had been more responsive and prompt in resolving these concerns, as it left me feeling frustrated with the state of my new home."

Build quality could have been lot better compared to neighboring home builders. Abit High price for what I got. Mortgage APR deal details are not properly shared prior to purchase.. mortgage and sales team wasted my closing costs credit .. very very bad issues observed pre-inspection.. ready to move in home is there in market for 3.5 months and lot of thin airline cracks seen inside and outside . Too much delay on fixing minor items which missed fixture during closure.. service and build quality could have been lot better..

Had a good customer experience overall. Very disappointed with the quality of my home. You can tell things were done rushed with no care how it would turn out. Painting throughout the house was horrible. Hard to believe that was done professionally. There were a lot of scratches on everything (appliances, countertops, floors, tubs, walls, baseboards, cabinets).

The most important things like roof, structure, foundation appear to be just fine. I just think fit and finish on cosmetic things lack true craftsmanship and attention to detail for what I would consider luxury homes at this price point. Pulte “sells” their internal QC program and it was nonexistent on the interior finishes phase of the house. I purchased a Pulte home in a different state over 10 years ago for a third of the price and I was much more impressed. This go-around was definitely disappointing. Home buying options in Santa Fe are limited and I would not say don’t consider Pulte, ...

Although, was not 100% completed by our close date. We trusted Pulte's Contruction Manager to complete our Punch List within a reasonable period shortly after our close. We are now over 30 days since our close and unfortunately, many of our punch list items remain incomplete or poorly done. Because we are now 30 days past our close date, Pulte's Construction Manager now refuses to respond to our texts and emails regarding the open issues. I suggest the buyers beware and do not close until your home is complete and satisfactory.

We had multiple issues with the final details of our home. The final paint was subpar, sloppy finishing with gaps on baseboards and stairs. We also had a roof leak in our bathroom the first week we moved in. With the price we paid, the finishing details should have been better. We delayed closing twice to have major issues addressed like bowing walls and mal-stained landings.

It has many details in finishes and things that don't work like windows and doors that don't close well, nothing they can't fix if they wanted to; Unfortunately for me they don't answer emails or calls and when they do they ask you to make an appointment.
