They need to be micromanaged

Throughout building process we had to continually ask Pulte to do things that we had asked for/were part of the build agreement. Also, getting anything done through the warranty is a joke. Our kitchen sink has been leaking for over two weeks (we moved in 2 months ago), an outdoor outlet has never worked and is still not fixed, our upstairs bathroom leaked and damaged the ceiling in the main living area the weekend we moved in and is still not fixed. We have a list of about 7 things that we are waiting on Pulte to remedy. There were also a lot of things the Sales Team ‘sold’ but then later ...

Follow up to correct deficiencies was bad. I felt like I was chasing the project manager to get things done..its ok ..I just did it myself..shutters that we paid for didn't get installed and took forever to get a schedule..not happy at all..

Pulte Homes - The whole sales process was amazing, when it came to building

The whole sales process was amazing, when it came to building that when we started having issues. We have issues in our home that still need to be fixed. we thought we had a 30 day evaluation check list but that was all lies. We are still missing a rack from our stove and Zack the construction manager said he ordered but that was a month ago and still haven't revived it. I and very dissatisfied with the construction part of the home, and something need to change quick.

Still waiting for Pulte to resolve serious issue

Pulte has agreed to address a serious design flaw in my new home. They have limited the actions that they are willing to take. I hope that the actions that they are starting to take will somewhat resolve this issue. I realize that I'm insignificant in the scope of this large corporation. However, my spending almost $500K for my house is huge and I was hoping my new home would be a wonderful sanctuary of peace and enjoyment.

Made a list of repairs with Builders during walk through 2 months ago which they promised to fix but have only fixed one MINOR issue. There is very little communication. Once you close with Pulte, they forget all about you. The warranty department is no better. They set up appointments and when service arrives, the repair man doesnt repair the issue that the appointment was for.

Pulte Homes responded:
We are very disappointed to hear that you have had an unpleasant experience and we apologize for the frustration. If you are still waiting for a repair, please reach out to our customer care team at socialcare@pultegroup.com and they will work to resolve the issue. ^Abby

I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the house-it just did not feel like it was cleaned after the work was completed. The front entryway and garage were stained with footmarks and junk.

Pulte homes are nice homes but leave a lot to be desired. Sub contractors are sloppy and problems are not corrected prior to settlement. Project manager was not responsive to problems.

Cheap Materials, Missing Basics, and Useless Parking

  • Saba R.

I purchased an unit from Pulte Homes and was shocked at the lack of value. The unit came with no microwave, washer, or dryer—basic appliances you’d expect to be included. The paint job was sloppy, materials look and feel like the cheapest options available, and the overall construction quality is poor. The parking garage is another major disappointment. The space is so small that even a small car can barely fit, making it essentially unusable. If I could go back, I would have researched more and inspected every detail before signing. Buyers should be aware that “brand new” doesn’t ...

AC units for the home are entirely too small. My house won’t cool past 78 on a 100 degree day. People who work for pulte say the units only rated to cool 18-20 degrees below outside temp. Let me know how comfortable you would be in a 80 degree home in Texas. The contract company they use for HVAC is just spinning their wheels patching and plugging the system without recognizing and replacing/remodeling the entire system. Please tell me how a 2.5 ton unit is expected to cool a 2500 sq ft house. A multi million dollar builder cannot even provide the homes they build with adequate HVAC systems ...

Pulte Homes responded:
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re truly sorry for the ongoing HVAC issues and the frustration they’ve caused, especially in the Texas heat. Purchase - I felt pressure - I was told there weren’t many units like what I wanted But when I moved in and even until today it’s clear there are plenty! I was mislead about ability to use the yard (there is none) it’s nothing but a hill. The house itself is full of mysterious things! So far I’ve had issues with hot water, WiFi that required drilling, my AC has been repaired, The Carpets (vendor never called to schedule repairs) the Gutters that are affixed in the wrong direction (it’s been 5 days still waiting on vendor to call to schedule repairs) the concrete pour in the garage and ...

The sales experience went exceptionally well. My sales person was extremely responsive and follow through was fabulous. My issues all arise from the work of the vendors as detailed work was not completed at final pre-closing walk through nor has it been followed up as promised post closing. I am beyond frustrated and so disappointed.

Very disappointing experience from start to finish for this process. We were made to feel as if we did not belong in this neighborhood from the first day we came in to view the model home. The person walking us through picking out electrical gave us bad advice which will cost us more headaches and money in the long run (an electrician or contractor should be walking people through these decisions, not someone from sales). Then we got a new sales person halfway through who never checked on us and was hard to get ahold of. Post closing we have had issues in our home that have not been addressed ...

Sales was good as well as mortgage process. All add on items were over priced for the value furnished. The French doors in the den were installed off center and had to be reconstructed after move in. Many items were missed or damaged. The warranty department is all about excuses for not doing the work. Instead of fixing the items now they keep saying wait for the one year mark because they only fix items once. Pulte used to be a great builder in the 90s but are only interested in getting more money for junk. Not satisfied at all.

I love my home I think it’s very beautiful. Minor and some major concerns after only a few months living here. Construction was fast; however with speed they lacked attention to DETAIL. Half my electrical outlets throughout the house don’t work. Finding trash in the walls and outlets. Prepare to not have grass on closing date!

While designing our new home, everything has to be in the STANDARD choices, regardless of custom’s needs (health and safety issues)! After closing, all issues that I reach out to the customer service were pushed away to 3rd parties, none was resolved by the customer care department! Everyone was great prior to closing. During my pre-closing walk through I identified several things that needed to be addressed, and the project manager promised that they would be done the day of or after closing. They were not, and many still have not been addressed 2 1/2 months later. In addition, I uncovered multiple additional issues with sloppy workmanship after closing and submitted requests for them to be addressed, they were no acknowledged. I don’t even know where to begin, I probably wouldn’t go with another pulte home if I had to. Scraps left behind in my new house when I moved in, work wasn’t completed correctly. Basically no effort in making sure it was fixed correctly. Dustin yelling at my partner for having concerns over the quality of the work done on the house. Honestly it was the quality of the craftsmanship of the house that soured the whole process for me.

We chose to build with Pulte because of the quality they promised. We loved working with our sales rep but our construction manager not only didn’t know what was going on, but flat out lied to us a number of times. We are two months in and still having to deal with warranty because of lazy craftsmanship. Most of our issues with the quality are cosmetic, yes, but every where you turn in the house has issues, the base boards, the paint, the door hardware, scratches on the cabinets (the most expensive cabinets they offer), countertops, toilets don’t flush, the list goes on and on. As the trades ...
