Poor communication from field manager

Communication from construction/field manager just has been really poor that I have to give a poor rating despite all other parts of the process being relatively positive. Initially provided dates are never right and promised dates have been broken too many times. I assure you that these problems are not supply chain related because items arrive on time. The problem is in giving incorrect information too many times over and over.

Buying/building with Pulte has been an absolute joke. Everything from the lending process to the post build expectations. Had I known then what I do now, things would have went a lot differently. So many empty promises and lack of empathy from the company. We have been moved into our house for over a month and there are still a ton of things left unfinished. The company and the project manager expect you to take time out of your schedule to meet with tradesmen, schedule appointments, and see projects through after you've already moved in. 0/10 recommend this company

Sales: Taylor in our community was great. He was eager and great to work with. He did a great job of explaining everything to us, the process and all that jazz. He also steered us in the way of things he would personally recommend rather than what was the most expensive. He was always responsive and helpful to get us the attention we need. Design: overwhelming! Pulte actually did a great job and emailed us over the PDFs so we had an idea of the features we wanted to see and look at. Constant changing of closing dates and the numerous quality issues

They took a little over a year to build our house. We had multiple major issues that seemed to not be taken seriously. I felt like had I not pointed out the issues that they would have allowed them to remain and done whatever they could to have hidden them. I am not speaking of the pulte builders, but the contractors that they use. Overall I expected a memorable experience and I received one. Unfortunately it is not a memory I want to look back on. At the end of the day the issues were repaired and pulte does offer a warranty so we will see what other issues arise in the next year.

Every bit of the process was like pulling teeth and getting any information on the process was abysmal. Lack of materials aside, getting any updates on what was happening, when things got done, or any sense of urgency was unbecoming of a company so reputable. It was evident that the build manager was so inundated with extra work and handcuffed by his superiors that he was unable to do his job properly. Make sure you get everything completed before you close. Once you sign off, all the promises to get punch list items correct fly out of the window. I am now on month 2 and its like pulling teeth to get a response from anyone. When I do get a response, more promises that are not fullfilled.

The quality of work in the materials for the price I paid is what really upset us. Issues are notated and the lack of responsiveness to those issues is taking time pose closing. The exterior property like siding, caulking, painting was poorly done. I guess that’s what you get when you have guys working in 10 degree weather so the builder can close, get their money, and put out a poor product. During the homebuying process there was surprises that came up such as location of the home on the lot, the grade of the property, upgraded options I selected were not fully explained, etc. I tried it ...

I do not recommend Pulte Homes.! After signing purchase agreement things go down hill fast. Our realtor said he could not believe the poor level of customer care we received from a once reputable builder. We had a stressful, frustrating experience trying to fulfill a life long dream that has gone on for 14 months and is still not complete.

We had our house closing on 17th December after quite a few postponements. We happily entered our dream house with a sense of relief and belief as we got this from a reputed construction company. Within 48hrs of closing , during a family gathering, I heard a big sound and water came running from the roof ,making a puddle and dripping from the brand NEW house. There was work finished after closing and the house was left in a mess. Paint spilled on the floor in pantry was the biggest issue. Then I went to cook and my stove shuts the breaker off every time I preheat it. (It also happens if I plug my toaster oven into that side of the kitchen so it’s not the stove. The electrician finally came after a month of complaints and missing the first appointment. He insists it was the stove and told me to call whirlpool (who told me they’d call back, which hasn’t happened yet). And the electrician replaced the breaker just in case. Our home had many delays which I understand is out of the builder’s control to a certain extent. But the quality of the build is sub par - there were many issues we found at our closing walk-through that took months to be addressed. Also, some of the materials, such as the paint, are very low quality. Our appliances have dents in them and most of the sod laid in the yard was dead when they laid it. Communication from the builder is not at an acceptable level. I will never build a Pulte house again and would not recommend anyone else.

There were so many issues after we moved in. We still have some and most importantly our upstairs usually get warmer as compare to our ground floor. Cannot figure out what going on with heater issue though they say it’s fine.Not expected so many issues will be facing after moving to a brand new home. Also we are not satisfied with the quality of materials used ( especially bathroom ) and workmanship ( exterior and interior issues).

Pulte Homes in 2021 has had great demand in the area of Hopkinton, MA, hence the bidding process went to a whole new level. We ended up paying a premium for that, and had barely any time to go over our options for upgrades. The Upgrades were insanely priced not at all worth the money they quoted. The rude and arrogant sales agents at Legacy Farms didn't make it any easier. Up until the last min we were going through so much stress of not getting the correct or enough information, which in hindsight wasn't worth it. Our wood floor had three nicks/dents in it. Looks like someone dropped something and put a nick in the wood. We also have splits going down the wood planks. We have, what I believe to be Caulk or some other film all over our tiles on the floor and wall in both bathrooms and on front door. This is the worst home buying experience I've ever had. Once we signed the contract, all communication stopped. No updates, no information on when the build would start, nothing. Once we moved in, we hired an independent inspector look at the house. He found issues with the roof, HVAC, and some other minor things. The roof is yet to be repaired. HVAC came out and worked an entire morning re-wiring the A/C unit and thermostats. A/C wasn't even connected. We had no heat, no A/C. They did not finish the house and fix what was missing. Some examples no bathrooms mirrors, No water in the refrigerator, Details, etc etc... I close a month ago and they haven't fixed the things they had to fix. I haven't move yet and the closing was a month ago. My advice is before you close make sure they have finish everything, because you will have to make appointments and appointment to get it fixed and it takes lots of time. I think this should be easier since people dream is to buy their house. But ended up being stressful. Thank you.

Be careful when signing a contract. You have to make selections at that time that cannot - or will not - be changed. You are given the choices on the day of contract and have to decide then. No changes allowed.
