Once you make your decision they lose motivation to do anything. Don't take their word at face value. Check and doublecheck. Because they will tell you one thing and do something different or nothing at all.

Sales kept telling me the wrong closing dates, costing me tens of thousands $ in lodging costs

A 7-month delay that cost me almost $10k in temporary lodging, moving trucks and movers, storage units, and repairs to items that were moved an extra time to and from storage. Sales strung me along with faulty closing dates. A design center stipend should have been given yet they offered me nothing after telling me a July closing date but delivery in January the following year!

Tradespeople were extremely sloppy in their work in all domains. I was not present for gliding or would not have closed given the issues we saw regarding bad tile work, scratched up cabinets. Fortunately, warranty service/customer care has been very responsive and helpful

Although Pulte has been responsive to addressing the numerous issues I have had with my home there are two big problems. First a lot of my time was wasted in getting issues resolved. Second numerous other small annoyances remain but I’m to exhausted to deal with them. I would never buy a Pulte home again. Life is to short.

If you start this process with low expectations, it's not bad. Do not have high hopes in these areas: Excellent communication Pride in craftsmanship Timeliness Customer service is hit/miss Ability to get materials in stock (not Pulte's fault, that's a supply chain issue) Ability to hire quality framers (that is Pulte's fault) Workers paying attention to detail Feeling like you, as the customer, are important. I've purchased new homes before and this was my first time with Pulte. It was not that great of an experience. They have major communication lagging between their own internal teams. Their Mortgage Group was descent and easy to work with. Construction was always behind which is expected but they were not even ready for initial walk through date. Had to set up a second walk through. Be on top of your stuff as you get close to the closing date cause no one else will be doing that for you.

Our homebuying/building experience has been rough, but the more I deal with Pulte the more I can see that it all depends on who you get. We have seen some Pulte representatives be absolutely amazing, while others make you hate life entirely. My only advice if you are moving forward with building a home with Pulte, is to meet all the people that will be involved with your build. If a single one of them don't seem like they are going to be amazing, then run as fast you can! No one that we have meet at Pulte has just been "ok" at there job. Everyone seemed nice until they started delaying the date of closure. We had to wait 3 extra months. It feels like the house was rushed. Two days after we moved in, the cloth rack in the master bedroom broke (this had the same amount of clothes that I hung in my apartment) that speaks a lot about quality. Less than a month after move-in, the stairs has cracks already, the drywall in the basement has dents (noticed this on day 1), the vent was not open, had to call them to come fix it, part of the exterior design fell off (still waiting for them to fix it), the guest shower head is falling off ...

Sales was horrible after signing contract meaningless threats about rewriting the contract. Warranty department is non responsive and sent a Warranty call for another home to ours been a month and the issue they caused is still not fixed.

The preaproval was amazingly fast. It made me feel confident that when the time would come to finalize, it would be equally fast. It was not. I couldn't believe the amount of hoops I had to jump though to get this home. I wish I had been warned to spray pesticides to kill off all the bugs that made my home theirs throughout the build process. We had to forego the radiant barrier with no replacement option. Pulte homes was supposed to be energy efficient and now summers will feel a bit more uncomfortable. The tile job quality of the 9k shower isn't up to par. It's uneven. The recessed ...
