Disappointing service and process.

My wife and I had such high hopes when we started the process with Pulte and after closing and moving in we are extremely disappointed in the building team and the service provided. It seemed to be the epitome of bad service and very poor customer service. From the design center to the building team and management. The process throughout was more than frustrating. We took the time to walk through the designing stage and were given our upgrade options. We picked out several upgrades and signed off on a contract with the designer to then be told that an important option we signed off on could ...

Pulte homes are built using C-Grade Subcontractors at best, who are incentives-ed by quick turn over. Pulte Field managers advocate for the builders and reward poor quality work, and not work for the home owner. Much attention is paid to the model unit but not to the purchased homes. I would recommend hiring a private Project Manager and Inspection agency to oversee the construction.

The house looks nice but the workmanship is poor. Only a couple of days after moving in we found many issues with the house. Crushed ducting in the attic, air conditioner breaking, cabinets not installed correctly, appliances not installed properly, wiring done incorrectly, and poor job on the wood floors to name some of the issues. It has been evident the work was done without any regard to quality in mind. The builder did not follow through on several things we were told were going to get done. When we would call to ask about the issues with the house no one was helpful in how to get it ...

Price not worth for the quality of work done. Spent money on upgrades to get good quality/brand new items not items that are used somewhere else and items repaired due to damage done while transportation or installation. Issues are pointed out multiple times but never been looked into.

3 main issues throughout the 19 month construction process...yes...19 months. 1.) Poor communication throughout the organization 2.) Poor timeliness in the building timeline 3.) Quality of workmanship was below average. If you're looking for a builder with a lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and blatant basic construction flaws, then Pulte is your company. A company that is clearly interested in THEIR bottom line. Worst buying experience I've ever had in my life.

For the money I paid, I should have received a better quality house. For a $550K, cheap material seem to have been used. Everything was extra and not came with the base price.

We thought we were going to have a beautiful home built for us. We walked through the model and fell in love. Unfortunately, we ended up receiving a completely different product than what we were anticipating. We feel very mislead. We have many issues with our house. We are hoping everything can be fixed, but I'm not feeling too optimistic. I believe for the amount of money spent on this house, the craftsmanship and attention to detail should be close to perfect. I am not at all pleased with the quality or lack there of of this house.

Lacking an eye for detail....

This is our first time buying a Pulte Home, we've owned a DR Horton home. Pulte did offer everything that we were looking for in a home, which was the reason why we went with Pulte. But Pulte lacks that eye for detail in the workmanship of their homes. Poor caulking technique throughout the home, grout on the tile that was not cleaned up before we moved in, lack of detail in their sheet rock cutting. Follow up is poor to get the work completed. Would I purchase another Pulte home in the future if given an opportunity...probably not.

Good from a distance

Pulte homes go up quick and look good from a distance. It’s clear that the work is rushed and vendors are under paid by Pulte. Pulte will fix anything you point out but it’s a job to find everything. Why should I have to??? The finish work and paint is rough at best. The home was dusty and needed to be cleaned. They delayed closing because work needed to be complete which puts you in a bind with your move in date and forces you to settle with many mistakes. It’s a quickly built home but it offers a poor value.

We love our house and location but we had no shortage of issues from the very beginning and all the way through in working with Pulte. There is a clear leadership issue in this region. I would buy one of their spec homes but I wouldn't build with them ever again in South Carolina. The location is key and the houses are beautiful once they're done just be prepared to fight for what's right along the way.

We didn't get truthful information about the number of basements in the addition from the sales person and that is why I am giving a 1 star review on trustworthiness. I feel like this is basically a good home, but we can't get some of the last detail work completed which is why I am giving a 1 star review on responsiveness. I'm also frustrated because it's early June and one of the few sunny days we've had since we closed in April, but there are no landscapers working in the addition. At this rate it's going to be fall before we get sod and landscape.

Be very careful of doing a contingency with this company. They will start building the home prior to the contingency expiration. Get things in writing from your sales rep so that you have proof of what they tell you. Upgraded cabinets to a level 3 and they were not installed correctly. Placed hands on stair railing end piece, with some weight behind me and it broke (inside is pressed board). Paint used on walls is poor quality (1 wipe with a washcloth and it comes right off). The only highlight to our home was our Project Manager Mike was friendly and is working hard to help fix our ...

Pulte does a poor job inspecting the quality of their installations. They prioritize speed and will accept risk if it results in a short cut. We had many issues with our kitchen and it was on us to find and report them. This put a lot of stress on us. We did not find all of them and are now stuck with some damaged cabinets.

We are not happy with the quality of the house built by Pulte. Our previous home was also a Pulte home and was in a great condition after more than 10 years. We are disappointed to see that the quality has gone down with the new house even though it is a more expensive home. There were many errors in the building process that we caught and had to bring to the field manager's attention. There were still many issues that need to be addressed after the closing.

The finishing of the house is below average and the price paid for the house seems pretty high. The corners are very rough and not finished as per expectations. Those were not smoothen for a nice look. The baseboards were left with holes; though the field manager send someone to fix those but those are still looking pretty rough. The paint on the baseboards is not smooth; it is still showing the filled holes different from the paint. The transitions and turns of the baseboards are not aligned and shows big gapes. Pulte did not meet our expectations with respect to the quality of workmanship of the house. There were so many drywall issues before closing which Pulte didn't bother fixing and asked us to close the home first and rest will be taken care right after closing. It's been 6 weeks since we moved in and our drywalls were not fixed as promised. They kept postponing dates and only performed temporary fixes and not resolving the issue as a whole. Due to this we are unable to settle down in the house as quickly as we could. If I could build a home all over again, I would go with a different builder.
