No builder is going to give you a "perfect" experience. Pulte did a good job, but plenty of room for improvement. Construction-wise there are a LOT of small touches missed that collectively take away. Many of these things wouldn't really even cost anything except a few extra minutes of care (something that used to be called pride of workmanship which sadly is a lost art in our society). I will say that compared to DR Horton homes nearby, Pulte is head & shoulders above. I did not rate Pulte 5 stars for quality of workmanship and value for the price paid. While I understand I did not purchase the highest upgrade, I somehow believe from past buying experiences with another builder, that Pulte could still have done better for the price paid. As a big construction company with strong buying power, Pulte could have done better in terms of quality of carpet installed, the stove which is still a burner instead of flat top, and the lack of over-the-stove microwave, all of which are already reasonably priced these days. Medicine cabinets should have been installed in the two full bathrooms instead of just flat mirrors as a space saving strategy. As this unit I bought is already designed for a certain model, I should have been offered the chance to have a refrigerator and a washer/dryer installed at the time of buying so that those are already in the unit at time of closing. Of course, for an extra price for those appliances. This would have saved time on my end upon move-in. The employees are why I gave 5 stars for trustworthiness and responsive to issues. Just had a couple of calls made to get someone to come and worked on a couple of issues, but still in due time. Will I buy again from Pulte? Yes, overall, but I hope to see truly better value for the price paid even if I don't have to go for the highest upgrade. ... More

Superintendent was terrific

This is the first time my wife and I have gone with a big builder for a home and the process couldn't have been more smooth. Despite choosing our lot after the structural choices were made, they let us make a few small adjustments that greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the house. During the build process, the super was in contact with us frequently and made himself available to answer any question we had, even getting back to us in a timely manner if he didn't know the answer off the top of his head. We've also talked with our customer warranty rep a few times since moving in for general questions and minor repairs (due to damage from movers) and he's been responsive and helpful each time. We haven't had to file a claim for anything yet, but we expect that process to be similarly handled if the need arises. ... More

I bought the house sight unseen as I live in another state far away. For what the builders offered it seemed like a good investment and the pictures from my real estate agent of the house looked decent. So I took a chance and went ahead with the purchase. About a month after I was able to take a vacation to stay at the house. Overall it is pretty nice and seems well built. Being a track home there were some attention to details that were overlooked or missed but were/are taken care of by the builder.

I love my new Pulte home. The team has always been quick to respond and has provided great customer service throughout the entire process.

Great experience from start to finish. Very responsive during the build process and went the extra mile to make sure we were completed satisfied. Wouldn't hesitate to build with Pulte again.

We purchased the Firewood model because it was the only builder in the area that had first floor master. I would have preferred the laundry room on the first floor instead of the 2nd. I would have liked to be able to see the prices for the material at the Show Room earlier than selection day. We were allowed to see the material but had no opportunity to ask anyone prices until Selection day. The flat paint used as standard will come off with 1-2 wipes if it gets stained. You most definitely will have to repaint if you don't upgrade the paint - which I wouldn't recommend because you can get paint contractors for cheaper. We've built several times before, this is probably the worst paint job in our 3 experiences of building. I wouldn't recommend the Standard flooring or cabinets, they definitely are substandard quality - You WILL upgrade floors & cabinets. You're given receptacle boxes for fans but not even a standard fan was offered which was standard with other builders we've built with. Our biggest set-back was no Internet access for over a week - on a week I was working remotely. This situation was a hassle with Pulte & our Internet provider. The cable couldn't be run from the street box to the house due to "broken pipes." And neither Pulte nor the Internet provider would take responsibility to fix it. Multiple calls to Pulte & the Internet provider resulted in a blame game. Currently, getting the HOA agency or Pulte to appropriately manage the "gated" community has been a hassle. No one takes responsibility when you call. One quotes the other is responsible. In the mean time, come sun down people experiencing homelessness, groups of teens walk about the property - on more than one occasion in the "gated" community. Multiple calls to the HOA & Pulte from several of the residents in the community resulted in closing the main gate & leaving another gate open. We're from the Midwest. Arizona homes are definitely inflated compared to the Midwest. However, we chose a new build over an already inflated existing home that would need updates & upgrades. We may build with Pulte again, knowing however that we will put about 30-35% of the sale price in upgrades. This area was important to us & was the only builder in the area with a first floor master (Firwood model). ... More

Chipped bottom corners and some paint with scratches, nails left outside the windows

They were very responsive to any problems we had. There's 30 days after move in to address any issues. The only thing I would advise, if you've never had an HOA get the guidelines before you buy. It's very restrictive to someone who's been a private homeowner for all their lives.

At our final walkthrough, we were told to watch for any issues that may need to be addressed within the first week after closing. We kept a list after moving in and reached out to the job site manager on day 6 to go over the needed repairs. He told us that he would have everything scheduled or repaired within 2 weeks. We have now been in our home for nearly 2 months and the only issue that has been partially addressed is the touch-ups on our cabinets. We still have nails on our roof, paint on our windows, cabinets that don't close properly, cracked hardwood floor boards, torn screens, etc. and I'm starting to seriously doubt that these will ever be addressed. I had texted him (his preferred method of communication) 3 times over a 2 week period to check in on the status of the repairs, and only heard from him 3 days ago. He says that everything is now scheduled, but after so many empty promises already, I'm a bit skepical. My advice to anyone buying a home from Pulte is to go over everything with a fine-toothed comb BEFORE closing, because after closing, good luck getting anyone from Pulte to return your calls. ... Just an amazing experience from first contact to moving in and even a few small follow-up items. Everyone from Sales, Design, Mortgage and Field (Courtney, Tonya, Eric, Tim and Ben) were just outstanding!! There are always a few hiccups here and there when you're looking at a house transaction but never once did Pulte let us down. Most recently a special thanks to Ben who continued to stay engaged with us even though he could have easily told us to contact warranty about small things. I think he went above and beyond to make sure we were thrilled with our house - and WE ARE!!

The sales office, design, contractor and closing team were amazing and very helpful with with all our questions and concerns. Pulte was right on time for the closing and convenient with remote closing. I recommend Pulte to family and friends.

I chose Pulte not only because of the appearance of quality homes, but because it came with high reviews. This is one of my biggest mistakes. Half stars should be an option!

Let me begin with a positive, our location contact person Laura has been a huge help in the home building process and has gone to bat for us more than once. Our builder Lincoln has also been helpful and patient with us as well. My major issue is the quality of the products and the workmanship. We were very excited to purchase a new home in an area we love, but I am still waiting on actually enjoying my new home without finding something wrong. Typically it's little things you would feel silly pointing out, like spackle left on an outlet or portions of wall that may have only gotten one coating of paint rather than two, caulking that is missing in spots or was not properly applied, or a scratched up stainless steel sink. There are bigger issues (like the master bedroom heating up at night if the door is closed because the AC is not flowing properly) that we have complained about and are in the process of being fixed. But my issue is, THIS IS A BRAND NEW HOUSE! After putting so much money and thought into this new home, I am not completely happy with what we received. Don't get me wrong if you don't pay attention to details Pulte is fantastic, but if you sweat the small stuff, I would look elsewhere. ... More

Loving my peaceful, new townhouse in Parkview at Hillcrest. I purchased a Magnolia end unit and couldn’t be happier. Great community, convenient to everything. Excellent experience with Pulte Homes and my Field Manager Francisco was top notch and always accessible- Five Star Rating.

EVERYTIME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH CONSTRUCTION, PULTE MAKES EXCUSES AND TRIES TO GET OUT OF FIXING THE PROBLEM, BY SAYING ITS NORMAL AND THINKS HOMEOWNER SHOULD EXCEPT THE DEFFECT.

The project was completed on time and no issues till now.

Everything went as expected. From signing papers to closing on time. Pulte definitely made it memorable. Will definitely recommend them

We had a great experience with Pulte!

Settlement was poorly executed. We were remote and everything was last minute. No consideration for our existing plans. Once documents were deliverd and explained it went well but getting to that point was not good. Wouldn't use Pulte's settlement company again!!
