Will never have Pulte build me a house again

The homes and community are very interesting. You can count on Pulte to finish what it started, unlike other builders who initiate a community then end up leaving parts of it to another builder that the community looks hodge podge in the end. The sales and design process was great, but execution leaves more to be desired though.

We were told our house would have a door from the garage to the back door. It does not. When we asked they stated it was mark off of the plans we signed. Yes marked off AFTER we signed them. They have yet to really attempt to fix this. The workmanship in the house is lacking. There are foot prints in my driveway and metel rhubarb is showing through. They laid my drive way very inefficiently. We cant even get into the third car garage without driving over the sprinker that they set right at that corner. The other houses on the block have a much different angle for their drive way.

Would recommend pulte to anyone, the process was quite easy and the kept me in the loop all the way.

Pulte builds a great home....the workmanship is top notch and they make sure it is done right. The homes are somewhat pricy, but if you value a home that is built to last, they are the builder for you.

Pulte is a quality builder. My home experience has been very satisfactory! A few issues have cropped up but Pulte has been pretty fast to respond with quality fixes for the issues. I feel confident in my purchase.

I suggest being very involved in building process from start to finish. If you're not, the completed product will be less than satisfactory. As for the mortgage company, proceed with caution.

Try and avoid moving in while construction is ongoing. Home incomplete at closing. Garage unfinished. No driveway. No yard.

Pulte homes come with average standard options. The model homes give a false impression of what a Pulte home actually looks like. There are many options to upgrade with prices that are very expensive. The home was built very quickly which was a benefit. However, there were numerous repairs that needed to be made due to poor quality work in some areas. The construction managers were responsive to correcting our concerns.

The nicest home I ever purchased with the least amount of faults I’ve ever had.

I should be “in love” with my new Pulte home, but I am not! I’ll start with my salesperson Dave. He was all about getting us to sign the contract, no matter what it took. Our contract was contingent on 2 things: 1) 4’ bump out on the master bed room & the sale of our old home. Even though we mentioned this to Dave several times if not 100 times, he did not add the sale of our home to the contract. This became a problem when Pulte set up closing. While my husband & I worked it out, Pulte Mortgage was just awful! Moving on to the 4’ bump out, instead of the 4’ bump out, Pulte/Dave offered a 2’ bay window. The decision on the type took approximately 30 days & Pulte/Dave tried to blame the city & the plot plan, saying the lot was not big enough to allow the bay window. I escalated to both the city & Dave’s senior management. Finally Pulte agreed to allow the bay window, but not without me paying for it upfront! Dave told me afterwards, that I may have won that battle, but I would not win the next. The other option we wanted was 4’ extension on the garage. Dave told us we could not have it! Imagine my surprise (AFTER) moving in, that there was/is enough clearance to have added the extension on the garage. I will give Dave credit for always remaining professional (except that comment about the battle). He always claimed to ask “corporate” but the reply was always no! I believe Pulte sends employees to Dale Carnegie’s class “How to say no & still when friends & influence people”. The other issue with Dave was that he did not give us the “Design Center Catalog” before our appointment. We went in without knowing what was available & we were overwhelmed! Tips for New Pulte buyers: • You want to be “in love” with your new house! Don’t settle! And don’t rush! This is a 30 year decision! • Wait for the lot you truly want. The salesperson will tell you the price will go up! Yes, the price might go up, but it might not! You don’t want to “shoulda, woulda, coulda” on the lot! • Pulte won’t make all the lots available! Wait for the lot you truly want! • Ask for the plot plan to determine what options are available (ie: sunroom, garage extension. • Double-check the contract for sale of your home contingency! • Ask for the Design Center Catalog before your design visit! And don’t rush! • If the options are easily replaceable, go with builder grade (shower heads, water facets)! If it’s costly replacement later, upgrade now, but don’t expect the “midgrade” upgrades to be the very best! • Visit the construction site often! Be mindful small things: the placement of thermostats on the wall, lights in the closet, lights centered in the ceiling! Pulte is notorious for wasting space, so be mindful of opportunities to turn a nook into a closet! • Repeating: “You want to be “in love” with your new house! Don’t settle! And don’t rush! PULTE did a great job on our new home - home is very efficient and well designed. Could pay just a little more attention to the small details but they are small - I would buy a PULTE home again - I bought home on a discount but otherwise appraised just below retail price.

I have had two other brand new house build. The only complaint I have are the windows. All of them are cut on the frame and the edges are rough. That to me is just not right. It’s like you made them fit instead of purchasing them to fit. I have spoke with Lane a nice gentlemen for sure. But that truly bothers me! I recently sold my 4300 sq ft house in Goodyear my husband passed away to much house. I had looked at several homes. Always wanted a home builder by your company. The house was currently build did my walk through. Did not notice the windows until my blind installer measured and pointed it out to me!! ... More

Pulte was very responsive and always there to help. We had access to the house during the whole process.

We are satisfied with the quality of the construction. There were some issues with the balcony during the construction process, which was resolved satisfactorily after several conversations.

Pulte homes are good sturdy home builders, you can feel it when you walk into the home. Insulation is great. The follow-up on getting items fixed was wonderful and very responsive

We are very satisfied with the quality of our home. The only thing I wasn’t very happy about is the absence of a threshold in the area between the carpet and wooden floors. I eventually had the field manager install a few for me. Without the thresholds, I had the carpet tacks poking me a couple of times, even though I chose the 1st level upgrade. Had I known of this issue, I would have paid a couple of thousand dollars more to get the 3rd level upgrade.

Great experience

Recently moved in to our 3rd Pulte home. This one is in Palm City, FL. Excellent value for the money. High quality of workmanship. 30 day 'warranty' items are slow in getting addressed but we are making progress. Overall very happy with home and build experience.

Like all construction there where issues but any time we brought something up it was addressed and corrected. Pulte is a great builder and I would recommend them highly
