Pulte Homes Reviews in San Antonio, TX

We purchased a new Pulte home this year. I have purchased 4 other new homes previously by other builders. Tho Pulte builds a nice home, we’ve had more issues than expected. Things that should have been identified prior to posting it for availability. Plumbing issues with 3 sewer backups in the first 2 weeks. Drain lines apparently has construction debris in them. A leak between the wall that required a lot of work and remediation to fix. I’ve noticed other issues that will be addressed to Pulte once we’ve confirmed the most urgent ones are fixed. I’d say Quality Control is an issue that should be addressed. Not just pushing for deadlines in the construction process. As I stated, with my previous home buying experiences. I’ve never had the problems that have arisen with this home. Recommendation is for Pulte to improve Quality Control focusing on attention to detail and ensuring proper functionality of all systems in the home. ... More

My gave my overall buying experience a 2 star it might have been lower based on the actual house but my loan processor Ray did a good job and others I spoke with in the office including management and title were very helpful . Our builder did communicate well up until we had issues that we still need to be fixed on the final walk through. We went through and made a list and very little got done and is still left unfinished. Our brick in front looks terrible it was cut poorly and should have never been used it is embarrassing .We have looked around the neighborhood and none of the other houses with the same brick look like ours I believe it mostly should have been scrap brick used. I can’t honestly believe that it is pulte quality. Numerous bricks are fully cracked and chunked as well and they lied and said it is just natural stone.Other than that we have had electricity issues with our oven on thanksgiving of all days. It was a power supply issue that was supposed to be already addressed according to builder fixed . The warranty person is very unhelpful on top of it .There is also chunks missing out of our front door step driveway and sidewalk. It is brand new? There is a lot of gaps in the flashing out front that could get water and pest entry through in my daughters window. No caulking behind my bathtub my transitions to the carpet in my bedroom needs to be secured and it can poke the foot if stepped on and the hood in the kitchen is crooked. The water in the bathroom sink’s sprays everywhere out of sink and wets clothing. And there was never a cap put on my internet green box thing outside either along with a few other things. Although our builder said this would all be completed he dropped us after continuing to ask us over and over for a positive 5 star review on the first survey which after completing and giving a positive review as he asked he continued to ask me to submit a review repeatedly and did not complete any of the work asked. Overall I am happy to have the house but unhappy with the way things have gone since moving in with pulte and am extremely unhappy with the quality of the stone out front and feel it should be fixed along with the other stuff I listed before the one year walk through. I do feel we overpaid considering the quality of some of the home materials used. I would appreciate someone to reach out in anyway possible to remedy this. Me and My wife purchased a Pulte Home back In September. We still love the house the the easy process with Pulte Mortgage made the experience better for us. Would definitely recommend Pulte Homes to friends and family.

Eric our construction Manager was excellent. The closing at PGT Title not so much, did not introduce themselves.

The process and treatment from personal is awesome. Great example of Pulte pride and practice. A few finishing problems have notched my rating down a bit but otherwise Pulte’s reputation is still great with me.

The houses are overpriced for the quality of materials and workmanship. Every place in the house shows that the construction was rushed. Multiple things damaged which are getting fixed but it just generates a sense of frustration on why these were not addressed before closing - why not get things right in the first place. Issues pointed out by inspectors are often ignored. There is a blatant disregard for the house owners work schedule where some of the third party vendors show up at random times or just keep pushing schedules at will. Pulte installed the sod 1-2 days before closing so that they can save money on the cost to water it. Pulte is just here to maximize profit by overpricing their houses and trying to rush the customer to buy and somehow close the house. I would highly recommend going with a better builder even if you have to initially pay slightly more - not worth the harassment. There is no professional standard here. ... More

Craftsmanship is acceptable. The tiles look good. The doors and the cabinets are rough. Misalignment and loosen handles are common. The construction manager is awful after closing. He committed to touch up some of the issues while it was extremely difficult to reach out to him. The issues of water pressure, faucets, and a drawer rail are remained to be unsolved.

We like how they draw the room and space but their own loan company no good. The member working so lazy and in professional. Don’t really helping and blaming. We had recorded everything they said while they working. When we closing, construction manager promised to fix stuff, but they take so long and the end they didn’t finished. So make sure you don’t closed until they fix all stuff first l. We didn’t get all fixed even we moved in more than 2 months already. They hiring careless people to build the home. They need to fix a lot small stuff.

There have been a few issues with Pulte. The first day we moved in the AC was not working; the water heater was not working correctly for the whole month of June and almost halfway through July. The plumber came out anywhere from 5-7 times and finally got it fixed. The master bath faucet, when running the water the water splatter out. The oven was not preheating like it should. Pulte sent someone out and they informed us that the oven was good but that the electrical wiring was not hooked up correctly. So then an electrician was sent and they fixed the problem. However, in the process of the oven being fixed it was discovered that the microwave/oven was put in crooked and was being held evenly by a piece of wood. Matt, Pulte Project Manager was great!

Sales personnel were great, we worked with Chris an had a good experience overall. The build of the actual house really showcased the lack of tradesman quality, a lot of poor quality materials are being used. Rushing out on these homes is causing a lot of simple things to be missed. Construction manager Matt was very helpful and responsive. Warranty department so far has been great.

Honestly I wouldn’t buy another house in the future from pulte homes . Houses have nice lay out and nice space inside But materials look cheap and takes for ever to get something fix after closing. my yard was done poorly and now it’s my problem no warranty paid extra for landscaping not worth it

For the over-inflated price paid for a Pulte Home, we expect a better quality workmanship on the build with far better attention to detail in the build both interior and exterior.

Completely horrible AC UNIT everything broke

I think the main problem is that the Construction Supervisor is new to this type of house, so the subcontractors took advantage and did subpar work! Overall it is a good build, it’s just that all the little things have added up. It started with the HAVAC system wired wrong it took two appointments to correct. Gutter system installation was and remains incomplete. Promised a “Smart” home with Google nest thermostats instead Pulte installed old Honeywell T6 thermostats. Most requests for warranty service have been submitted twice.

As a long distance buyer, I was a difficult customer. However my construction manager was the absolute best. He was timely, enthusiastic and eager to help in anyway I asked. My sales rep was a little too millennial for my old fashioned tastes, but fine. I used a wonderful real estate agent, Charlin, who provided above and beyond service as my eyes and ears throughout the building process. The home itself is 85% wonderful. There are several major issues but most have been responded to promptly. Foremost unfixed issue is the disturbing lack of sufficient electricity sockets. Pulte paid a lot of attention to inserting speaker squares, everywhere, but forgot the plugs? They failed to adjust to a new code disallowing plugs on kitchen islands, so now I have a fairly useless, huge, powerless, hunk of pretty rock in the middle of my kitchen. There are not enough plugs anywhere in the house. Second unfixable item, apparently despite my questioning the slope of the property early on, no one realized that the back of my house would rise 10 feet above the ground. Pulte installed a basic, functional, staircase which doesn't fit the quality or attractiveness of the home. Third, Pulte contracted with At&t to install wiring and a router box. These do not hook up with the providers' outside lines, are way too small for equipment and are in a closet which blocks signal to the rest of the house. Finally, beware your property lines. In my section of this community, the homes are very close together side by side. I knew this when I purchased, but now I see this is not standard throughout the area. Further, pulte designed the homes with little attention to the close proximity. For example, they installed both homes' AC compressor units side by side, on the gated side, effectively eradicating room to pass through with any large items, like a lawn mower? My Pulte manager quickly had a second gate installed on the opposite side, resolving this issue for me, but ... The planners also installed a lovely walk in shower with a beautiful window that looks directly into the window of the next door house!?! My manager arranged for an additional blind for that window. Finally, the warranty people are very attentive, but really shouldn't have to come in and re work my entire valued ceiling due to poorly installed drywall mud. That has not been completed yet, but I'm assured it will be soon. All in all I've only listed the things to watch out for here. My review would be much longer if I told you all of the good things! I really do love my new home, with the great layout, stone tile, four efficient bedrooms, four semi bathrooms, and three large pantry areas. ... More

The Pulte home I purchased has fit our family needs well and works really good for us. For minor issues we have had, Pulte has quickly resolved them.

I’m very happy with my new home and the entire process with Pulte.

Very pleased and satisfied. Total enjoyable experience for me.

I love Cody my construction manager and Frank, they are honest and true hearts who cares about the Pulte home issues when they came up. I will not recommend Aaron. I love my Pulte agent Ana also, she is a force to be recognized. She bends over backwards to make sure you get into your home. I do love my Pulte home when you have the right people.
