Not a good first time home buying experience

I have been in my new home for 3 months and have yet to be fully settled in the house. My floors were not to standards and what is worst the “replacement” has been just as bad; now I am waiting to get my floor redone again. My wife and I have noticed the workmanship was not as good in other areas but the main thing that stood out was the bad tile work. The responsiveness has not been up to par when asking for something to get fixed.

I'm very happy with my home. I got exactly what I asked for. Good communication during the construction. Pulte keeps you informed all the way through the construction process. Toward the end of our build process we encountered a few problems with about a month or more to go til closing. When brought to the attention of our construction manager they were either down played or we were told it was suppose to be that way. When asked for things to be fixed we were given alternate methods to fix the issue instead of just fixing it the right way the first time. These issues led to moving our closing date multiple times and at the end still had many unfinished problems. These problems were suppose to be fixed immediately after closing in mid March and here we are mid May ...

From start to finish, the communication throughout the building process was exceptional. Pulte scheduled weekly meeting calls to keep us apprised of the progress and answer any questions that we may have. Once the house was built, the follow-up on the minor issues that needed attention was equally impressive. This is our second Pulte home and we trust them to deliver on the quality and value.

We absolutely love our construction supervisor, Carlos. He was so personable and always very understanding. Although, the crews that Pulte decides to hire for drywall, texture, painting and especially Landscaping are crap! Having no construction experience, I feel like I could’ve done a better job! The landscape company that was hired for our neighborhood does the BARE MINIMUM!! They DO NOT roll out the ground before lying down the sod. We did not have any dirt in some areas and even had areas full of mulch under patches of sod. Since the ground wasn’t rolled out, we’re having drainage issues ...

Although our salesman was new with Pulte he was fantastic!! He always made himself available and he is the sole reason my husband and I stuck it out with Pulte when things became rocky. Our first construction site manager refuse to ever meet with us then out of the blue he quit. The second site manager was 100% better and communicated with us weekly. There was a 60-day delay in the construction of our house. Delays happen with construction; however Pulte did an extremely poor job at communicating these delays. This was the worst home buying experience I have ever had. From the sales person who lied to us over 4 times, from personally having to talk to people to get things fixed proved that this was not worth the investment in time. Timelines were way off when they told us of the bill, they kept realtor in the dark and also messed up the title service paying our people. This is not acceptable when you are selling 350K homes.

If we had to use Dayna, sales, again for anything we would not buy, build or even think of owning a home. Working with her was the worst experience for us. She continued to call my fiancé by my last name and Jose when that isn’t even his first name either. Matt, our builder, we would work with him on any home at any time. He was amazing and followed through every time and timely.

We had a couple little hiccups with design choices and small things being wrong during build, but our field manager and sales consultant were always responsive. In the end, things went really smoothly despite some COVID-related delays at the start. And we overall were very happy with the quality of our home.

The virtual purchasing experience was quick and painless. It helped that the home consultant actually lives in the neighborhood and can give honest feedback about Pulte and the ins-and-outs of the new community. We liked the virtual design center appointment too as it was easier for us to narrow down on our picks and not spend on other things we would have seen if at the center in person. The build process was fast however even though we were told the house would be done by mid-November, this doesn’t mean the whole house, just that it was structurally sound. The workmanship is sloppy and lazy. All the finishes in our home look terrible and have issues. I’m terrified to think of things behind the walls that we can’t see. There’s no quality assurance and no follow up to reported issues. Do not build with Pulte. I wish I could move back to my DR Horton home.

Poor quality sub contractors

A multitude of problems during the building process due to faulty, below standard construction. Pulte failed to hold their sub contractors responsible to fix major issues in our home and two months after closing we are facing major renovation work in our home to fix the problems. We have little faith that everything will ever be fixed properly. We were lied to multiple times about issues we brought up before closing with promises that these issues would work themselves out or they would be fixed.
