Sales lady Lori provided good information about the residence and options of the house. However, when providing information about lenders, the information was not correct The lenders, the home owners insurance, the sales department were not in sync when providing me the right information I would get an answer from one department then a different one from the other department, and so on. Home American needs to provide uniform current and correct information to customers. Also, Issues with the construction of the house have been brought up as well. This is my second home. The sales Departmrnt was not honest, and The lending process was the worst experience. . Richmond lenders was not helpful, constantly being condescending and making you feel like you should just give up. Questioning income, questioning why I didn't know certain things. An overall stressful experience that I hope no one else has to endure.

My husband and I bought our first home in March and just to sum up our experience I’ll write a small review for now. from the beginning our experience was less than favorable, our sales agent did not know how to handle any questions we had. Our home also did not come with blinds, fans, and bonus we got a broken front window that had been there since October and we moved in March 25th. Overall I can’t recommend this builder, in-spite of our repeated efforts to connect with the sales agent manager and work with someone else we were not assisted. Awesome experience with purchasing a home

Our sales agent Ricky Chase was nothing short of amazing. He explained everything very thoroughly and the whole process was smooth and seamless from start to finish. I was only disappointed in the final walk through the super Intendent was very lazy about getting things handled and done before move in so it put us behind. But Rick spoke up and got everything done so we can now enjoy our beautiful home!!! We absolutely love it!!! Thanks Ricky

Would not buy a Richmond American Home again. Grew up in a family with construction background so very familiar with quality and to rate quality would be a 0. The house was complete disaster and unclean upon receiving Keys. Everything we had asked for was denied. Even during walk thru and something as simple as door bell not working and comment made was "I wouldn't want one anyways, who wants to hear a door bell?" well needless to say, I believe there is a simple reason for having a door bell. LOL...anyhow absolute nightmare and they are very pushy to get you to close escrow without them on there end having everything completed. There contract is completely in favor of Richmond Homes with NO protection at all for the buyer. Anyhow in a nut shell we bought a Brand NEW FIXER UPPER from top to bottom. I really like my new home. The only problem I had is the two other bedrooms are super small. I have a three piece bedroom suites and they are all crunched together. So the bedrooms could be a little bigger. My pantry is to die for and so is my laundry room. We love our RV garage. (Our diesel pusher barely fits) but it does. On my walk through we had several things that needed fixed. Especially a hole in the master bath ceiling where the light is on the ceiling. Not fixed. Then …. How in the world did this get through inspection: in our attack the plumber needs to come back and fix the roof, then after that is fixed the roofer needs to come back. This needs immediate attention. I have called a few times. I have been in my home sense March 13, 2024. I need this fixed. The other issues can wait. On my builder Mike, he is super wonderful!!!! He works so hard and now he is short handed and trying to get everything done. He is a hard worker and tries very hard to please everyone. He is only one man and he can not do it all. My experience has been bad from the start. We originally wanted to design our own house but the lot we wanted “wasn’t available yet” so we decided on a pre approved plan. It was also on a corner and the bedroom and larger side of the yard was on the corner side away from the neighbors. We were assured this is the exact layout of the house we were buying and happy with our purchase. Then They built it “flopped” or reverse so now it’s jammed against the wall, our bedroom and large side is against the neighbors. This is exactly what I didn’t want. We were told by Gina, in the fine print the builder can do anything, anytime, for any reason and we’re stuck with this. There was virtually 0 communication from the builder A.B during the process. We had none of the pre walks of anything before our punch walk. At this time there were about 50 issues, including no heat, missing faucet, cracked countertop, missing lights, a loose paver at the entrance, missing backsplash, dirty inside, paint all over the concrete. I can go on and on. After closing we didn’t move in for a week because we made a deal with the new builders Tom and Dan, to take care of the issues. After a week not 1 single thing was done. After that week I brought my kids to their new house and my 7 year old daughter tripped on the loose paver and fell. This is her first experience at our new home. Since moving in they have slowly addressed some of the major items, but barely touched the list and we still have incomplete items all over. 2 weeks ago our A/C stopped working. It took 2 weeks to fix. There are so many things that need to be fixed, and the worst part is the quality of the craftsmanship mainly on the interior trim/doors/base. Every time I look at a door I get so frustrated because they all look awful. Walking down the entry hall you can see every stud in the wall. It looks so bad. I have sent emails and texts and pictures to the builder and to Richmond homes corporate asking for help. I always get the same response. Nothing. I don’t know what to do at this point. I have been slowly fixing things when I have time, but I work 10-12 hrs at my job. The only people who have made an effort to help us are Tom and Dan, but now they avoid us. So many errors in the home. So little communication when issues were brought up. We are over a month into our new build and the amount of issues are out of control. What is even worse is that we cannot get anyone to fix anything. I have been without a dishwasher the entire time. Items from the carry over list have not been attended to.

There hasn't been very many issues.

Darren looked to be burned out. Just did not care. Issues not resolved. To many issue still no resolved. Paul is now taken over for Darren and very hard to get ahold of and not getting communication on issues getting finalized. Emille was the worst. Not truthful Did not support the home office stated items that we were to have in our home that was not true. Of the 7 homes I have purchased she was the worst. She should not be apart of your company. It’s all about her and will lie talk down RAH I fill she scammed us . We do love our new home however and can’t wait for the list of issue get fixed by Paul ... More

All Issues noted on first walkthrough where not finished by final walkthrough, the kitchen sink was clogged since the move in date

This home was sold to us as located in Surprise AZ. We are hoping that is correct, we noticed that on this survey it was described as Wittman Az.

So far we’ve passed our 30 days of being in the home and still no follow up on issues that need to be fixed. I pass buy the contractors throwing up other houses very quickly and can tell it’s slapped together just like my house. We blue taped a lot on our first walkthrough and it looked like they just took off the tape and didn’t fix the paint issues. I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t pay $3000+ for a paint upgrade on the whole house. The cabinets still have yet to be fixed and they sent the wrong part. I went up into the attic and there’s huge nails sticking out everywhere. Low quality beams used and just slapped together with some having fat gaps between. All in all, Richmond, like most new builders, have quotas to meet and are trying to make as much money as possible and cheating out on the contractors. I don’t have confidence this structure will last long without major issues long term. It’s unfortunate for nearly half a million dollar house that sold for $250k a few years ago. But it allowed my wife and I a place to finally call our own and we love the floor plan and some of the upgrade options. Just wish the quality of work was actually appreciated and Richmond spent better money hiring better contractors that took pride in what they do. Other than Lauren, The experience was extremely underwhelming. The quality of workmanship was disappointing at best and it became very clear that our Superintendents did not have their finger on the pulse with trades. During our final walk, it was explained to me by Sergio that i "cant expect perfection". That bold statement has been my Richmond American experience in a nutshell.

I’ve been told multiple things that we have been ghosted on from paint samples to another layer of brick for my back wall. Everything is fine until the day you move in, then we are left to hang dry after. My gas line won’t even allow me to put a walkway it is sticking so far out. I’ll be leaving more reviews anywhere I can about this. 450k for mediocre quality with lazy superintendents.

Moses, Tyler, Matthew are all horrible and very unprofessional. Richmond American Homes will lie to you and do anything to get your business and once they have it, they treat you very horribly and unprofessionally. I will be telling all friends and family to stay away from Richmond American Homes.

Terrible experience not happy with home still waiting for several items to be fixed.

Sales was great, kept us informed along the way. Construction was also great, even explained the progress when we dropped by once in a while. Title was very efficient. But the Lender was a bit more difficult. At one point our income was not completely documented after we had provided all the asked for info several times. This almost caused us to fall out… last minute! After we had sold our previous home and moved to temporary housing. The processor finally got it all straightened out and we closed on schedule.

Baseboards aren’t straight, tile squares don’t line up, inside is horribly painted( paid 4k extra for that), granite countertops have paint all over them. Brand new carpets stained from workers. Cabinets are falling apart( again paid 6k extra for those) no hot water presssure in the shower. I could go on for days with the things wrong with this house. After paying almost a half a million dollars I expected my house to be in new condition. Would never recommend anybody to buy from Richmond American

Last week was a push and we ended up with a mess!! Very disappointed.

I’d like to let Richmond know this will be my last time buying a Richmond home. Although Sonja was an excellent representative for the company as her character always shined when we were around and continues to shine now if we need anything. She is really top notch!! Tim our superintendent was awesome and took care of us and still handles anything we need. My complaint or concerns are with the Richmond finance team. When I first walked through the doors, Richmond extended some offers if my family and I were to use Richmond finance and purchase before a certain month. Well my wife and I fell in love with the sapphire home. We had private financing already but we chose to use Richmond financing due to the incentives. I was pre approved and we were in our way. Then I get a call from the finance team saying Richmond can no longer move forward with my loan. This was unfortunate because Richmond also pulled all the incentives and 17k in closing costs that they were offering. What a swing of emotions, financials and trust Richmond displayed. My wife and I still decided to move forward with the home. My family and I lost out on heat incentives and 17k of closing all because Richmond put their needs above the customers needs. Never again!!! If it wasn’t for the amazing customer service Sonja and Tim had displayed throughout the build, my family and I would’ve taken our business elsewhere!!! I’m sorry Richmond you missed the opportunity to get all five stars due to your finance team and your company’s unwillingness to meet a customer’s expectations of everything I had heard about Richmond American Homes!
