Darren looked to be burned out. Just did not care. Issues not resolved. To many issue still no resolved. Disappointing experience

The home buying experience with Richmond was not a walk-in-the park. We experienced a lot of miscommunications or lack of communication starting from their office agent, to their preferred lenders, to walk throughs, escrow and immediately after move-in. We constantly have to call, text or email and it takes days to receive an answer or a resolution to our concerns.

Poor workmanship and corrective action

Workmanship is very poor. Quality of products used throughout are less than desirable. Still waiting on repairs from initial walk through and 10 day inspection. Lack of communication post close. They were great to deal with in the beginning to buy the house. Once closed, it’s been complete opposite

Low quality builds for premium price

Baseboards aren’t straight, tile squares don’t line up, inside is horribly painted( paid 4k extra for that), granite countertops have paint all over them. Brand new carpets stained from workers. Cabinets are falling apart( again paid 6k extra for those) no hot water presssure in the shower. I could go on for days with the things wrong with this house. After paying almost a half a million dollars I expected my house to be in new condition. Would never recommend anybody to buy from Richmond American

First time buying a house and it's been quite the experience. Not all the things were done that were supposed to be prior to settlement. Never got everything I was promised in the deal. I feel like after everything was signed I became chop liver. I regret buying this house.

To know what I know now I would have made a different choice in purchasing a new home. My experience has been bad from the start. We originally wanted to design our own house but the lot we wanted “wasn’t available yet” so we decided on a pre approved plan. It was also on a corner and the bedroom and larger side of the yard was on the corner side away from the neighbors. Make sure all sales incentives are reflected correctly prior to closing. Sales team is non-responsive even if matters are included and followed up on in writing with the lender, Gallery, escrow and Sales representatives. I purchase this home with Richmond because of the reputation and quality of the homes, I love my home. Will I buy again from Richmond American? NO! Manger Kim it is the most rude, condescending, disrespectful person I ever came across. Richmond loan officer was very difficult to work with. Had to wait long periods of time to get responses. Total home purchasing took 3.5 months. Would have liked a definite answer. Was asked to get a separate appraisal then it wasn't accepted. Finally Richmond decided to share their appraisal after 3 months of back and forth on purchasing the home.

My experience with Richmond American Homes has been very poor. When I first visited the sales office I was treated nicely and given a tour of some models. I was offered a special offering of 4.99% with 10k of closing costs and 2% of base, when I returned within 24 hours to decide on moving forward the offer was no longer valid (I wish I would've backed out then) They changed the offering to 5.5% with only 5k in closing covered. Our Richmond Home experience was not good. We will not build with Richmond homes again, and would not recommend it to family and friends. If fact we would ask them to steer clear! We felt significant pressure to close the house at the end of the month, only to find out the following month had better incentives & that others got $20-30K more in incentives. My move in date was changed first "by mistake". Then a second time was changed 10 minutes before end of day, the day before with no notice provided to me. When I finally did move in there was no walk through and several items were not finished, to include; issues with both showers no range installed, and several leaks. Since then superintendents have been rude, cussed at me, and been generally non responsive.
