Purchased the home last year, purchase was not very efficient because there was to many people involved. A lot of moving parts in the purchase, which was ok but person helping with purchase did not communicate with us. I had to do a lot of follow up calls to find out delays and problems with build. We initially put down 1000 dollars and told we would get the money back, at the end we did not get it back. It was applied to the purchase price which was not part of the purchase. There was so many problems with the in house lender, starting from problems with uploading documents to the ...

Great home plans and Nice community

Home plans at Seasons at Green Valley Ranch by Richmond American Homes to be unique and spacious. The community appears to be well-maintained and welcoming, and I would confidently recommend it to our friends for a visit to the sales office and model home. However, there are areas where I believe the builder could make improvements: 1. The Home American Mortgage department could benefit from enhanced communication practices. 2. It would be helpful for the sales office to provide clearer information about layout differences between model homes and actual homes. 3. I recommend that the ...

Sara Jensen did an excellent job from start to finish. But after receiving the keys we ran into some issues and the wait time to resolve them was unfortunate. We still have them and hopefully soon can get them resolved. Other than that we love the area and overall style. Plus the overall feel and look to the home is great. Thanks again Sara for making the experience memorable.

Mixed Experience: A Review of Our Home Purchase Journey

We recently went through the process of purchasing a home, and while there were certainly positive aspects, there were also some significant challenges that we encountered along the way. Let's start with the positives. Firstly, the front office sales team was exemplary. They were consistently cordial, communicative, and attentive to our needs throughout the process. Their professionalism made navigating the initial stages of the purchase relatively smooth. Secondly, securing a mortgage through the lender was surprisingly easy. We appreciated the efficiency and clarity they provided, ...

Four weeks after closing, still waiting for repairs to be made

I wish the builder would pay more attention to the details and quality of work. I had unfinished doors and cabinets. The bathroom countertop was scratched quite badly. The rain gutter was missing, I had to point it out and then and it took 4 weeks to get them to install it. After four weeks, I'm still waiting for repairs to be made, such as replacing a damaged door weather strip.

Richmond American Homes responded:

The sales and escrow team were great, but the construction team not so much. I closed escrow a little over a month ago and have yet to get a response or warranty issue taken care of. The quality of work on the kitchen cabinets, the garage walls, and paint throughout the house is very poor. I’m still waiting on someone to acknowledge or resolve the concerns.

Richmond American Homes responded:
Hi, Christine. I reached out to our local team for an update. It's my understanding they're actively working to schedule a time for your remaining items, so hopefully we'll have things wrapped up once we can align with your availability. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

While everyone was “nice”, we had an overall horrible experience. From 3 different superintendents to a scam of an experience with Home American mortgage to endless lies and deception to over a month delay to then move in with electrical not working, 20 roof tiles broken, horrible craftsmanship to then no one caring and it taking weeks upon weeks to get responses until we went to corporate to now 2 months after we closed and still an outstanding list of 30+ issues with no resolution. Would avoid Richmond at all costs.

This was the worst experience in regard to communication period. Our agent Mayra shared no concern with my and my wife's concerns to the home purchase. She seemed simply satisfied to getting the signatures required and the deposits then after that she simply disappeared! She made numerous blunders. Not mistakes but huge blunders and wouldn't answer her phone or return messages as needed. When we finally got to move into the house, we had to wait 30 days to receive the builders' incentives appliances. Washer, Dryer and Refrigerator!!! The house is pretty awesome but here we are waiting for the ...

Purchased and contract was to close in 2 months on a specific date when the home was to be completed. 1 week after contracting the insurance provider is the one that told me the builder is closing 2 weeks earlier. I could go on and on about the disappointment but let's just say the home was no where completed when I closed. The title company was hacked- not there fault but the had no communication an entire 2 weeks before closing. I never knew where I was signing or when. It was not a good experience. I bought the home December of last year. Inspection had minor issues. Afterward, the second walkthrough also had not fixed issues. They asked me to waived inspection because it was a new house. Maybe I should not have agreed. In addition, even though I paid 20%, they didn't go over that I could opt out of paying taxes every month. I also submitted a request to fix more minor issues. It was hard to get the issues resolved.

Beautiful House but Sales Team is not honest

I love the beautiful house that was built. The workers made sure to build the house with great care. However, there are portions of the house that are different than what was discussed with me by the sales representative. In fact, there are quite a few surprises that have come up that were not communicated to me by the sales department. Three weeks before closing I was blindsided by what I was told was a "decision the builder made". I've tried calling to get clarity several times but I was told the Sales Manager and the original sales representative, Rena, would return my calls so ...

progress on the house was pushed back 2 times and then when it came to the end of the month they pushed us in due to rate locks even though the house was not finished to our liking. We went to 3 separate walk throughs and items on our punch list were not taken care of and a month into living here have still not been taken care of or even discussed when the work would be done. Poor responsiveness to issues. Disorganization and lack of commitment to provide good service. Outstanding service items from initial walk through left with no follow through, and I’ve been in the home for 3 months. I have reached out to corporate, left messages and sent emails to sales, with no response. This is my second Richmond American home and the worst follow through in service I have ever experiences. I would like all prospective buyers to know that our home was deemed certified and ready for habitation 5 weeks AFTER the planned losing date. During our walk through 35 items were still listed as substandard and in need of repair. After moving in, we needed to move to a hotel for 8 nights while the builder removed construction materials from the sewer line that they were notified were blocking the sewer line 7 weeks PRIOR to their certification. We have turned in 12 additional service requests in the first 3 weeks in the home and ONLY TWO have been repaired as of 33 days in the home. ...

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been a mixed bag. The response time for repairs is generally prompt, with issues being addressed within a week, which is commendable. However, our buying experience was marred by the incompetence and unhelpfulness of our sales representative. There were instances where my family felt discriminated against, which left a sour taste in our mouths. On the positive side, the home itself is indeed beautiful, located in a gated community comprised of around 31 homes. This sense of exclusivity fosters a community spirit among homeowners, encouraging ...

I don't even know were to start with this....the agent you guys have was one of the worst agents I have encountered, the day I was going to check the home, Myra knew we were coming driving 1hr plus and she did not even have the correct keys, When we arrived there, she just said that she did not have the right keys. So we went for nothing after that. She said the closing was one month from when we submitted the purchase contract and it took mostly 3 months also, she sent all the documents to escrow 2 weeks after we signed all the paperwork. When we did our walk through, we were told all repairs would be done on a timely manner, which has not been the case. We are going on our third month and we still have several issues, that have not been addressed. I was told by our Sales Rep and Builder to create tickets in the ticketing portal, but this has done nothing to escalate our reported issues. We have talked to our Neighbors and they are also experiencing the same issues with the Builder and Repairs. This is unacceptable in my opinion when purchasing a new home.
