Beautiful House but Sales Team is not honest

I love the beautiful house that was built. The workers made sure to build the house with great care. However, there are portions of the house that are different than what was discussed with me by the sales representative. In fact, there are quite a few surprises that have come up that were not communicated to me by the sales department. Three weeks before closing I was blindsided by what I was told was a "decision the builder made". I've tried calling to get clarity several times but I was told the Sales Manager and the original sales representative, Rena, would return my calls so ...

progress on the house was pushed back 2 times and then when it came to the end of the month they pushed us in due to rate locks even though the house was not finished to our liking. We went to 3 separate walk throughs and items on our punch list were not taken care of and a month into living here have still not been taken care of or even discussed when the work would be done. They contract out all the finishing work and this was not up to par by far! Base boards have paint run and over spray all over them. nail holes are still exposed and not covered up. corners of the baseboards are not ...

Our walk thru was rushed. After clising someone came and changed our outside circuit breaker. Asked the supervisor and we were told they were just installed to pass the city code. AC breaker now keeps tripping. AC is very uneven and keeps some rooms really cold and others hot. Outside patio lights do not work. Calking is already coming off. On line repair request no respinse!

Poor customer service and lack of follow through on commitments

Poor responsiveness to issues. Disorganization and lack of commitment to provide good service. Outstanding service items from initial walk through left with no follow through, and I’ve been in the home for 3 months. I have reached out to corporate, left messages and sent emails to sales, with no response. This is my second Richmond American home and the worst follow through in service I have ever experiences. I still have tape throughout the house’s interior and exterior from the first walk through, squeaky floors on the second level, items have gone ignored in my warranty requests. ...

I would like all prospective buyers to know that our home was deemed certified and ready for habitation 5 weeks AFTER the planned losing date. During our walk through 35 items were still listed as substandard and in need of repair. After moving in, we needed to move to a hotel for 8 nights while the builder removed construction materials from the sewer line that they were notified were blocking the sewer line 7 weeks PRIOR to their certification. We have turned in 12 additional service requests in the first 3 weeks in the home and ONLY TWO have been repaired as of 33 days in the home. ...

Review of Richmond American Homes

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been a mixed bag. The response time for repairs is generally prompt, with issues being addressed within a week, which is commendable. However, our buying experience was marred by the incompetence and unhelpfulness of our sales representative. There were instances where my family felt discriminated against, which left a sour taste in our mouths. On the positive side, the home itself is indeed beautiful, located in a gated community comprised of around 31 homes. This sense of exclusivity fosters a community spirit among homeowners, encouraging ...

Flodd Zone Where to even begin...I found out about flood insurance by the finance team that called me to keep me on pace for closing on the home. I was shocked and frustrated that we were a few weeks into the procedure and just finding out about flood zone and insurance required. I vented my frustration over the phone and they asked me. "Have you spoken to your sales associate? They should be able to tell you all of this." When I asked Jay he had no information on it. He just would tell me to sign the emails as they come through. I had to call several other people who work in Richmond to get ...

This is the second new build we have purchased and this was by far an inferior experience. Richmond was not willing to work with us throughout the process and treated us like nothing more than a contract. We waited 6 months for this home and when we finally signed they refused to let us select structural upgrades due to other buyers dropping out, even though we had offered to put more money down and had sold our old home and were living in an an apartment. Ultimately we just wanted them to allow us to select an $8k structural upgrade for a sliding door and they said no. We were non-chalantly ...

I don't even know were to start with this....the agent you guys have was one of the worst agents I have encountered, the day I was going to check the home, Myra knew we were coming driving 1hr plus and she did not even have the correct keys, When we arrived there, she just said that she did not have the right keys. So we went for nothing after that. She said the closing was one month from when we submitted the purchase contract and it took mostly 3 months also, she sent all the documents to escrow 2 weeks after we signed all the paperwork. For the final walk through. I am an elderly and I ...

After moving into our new Richmond American home, there were a multitude of problems uncovered. We submitted one warranty request for each issue as instructed. There were 15 requests created, and over one month later only 1 request has been addressed. We emailed the sales office, no response. We purchased solar for the home, over one month later solar is still not activated. There was an issue with the county and the property address, at one point there were 4 different mailing addresses for the same property (only 1 being the actual address). A brand-new home and we have had a breaker ...

When we did our walk through, we were told all repairs would be done on a timely manner, which has not been the case. We are going on our third month and we still have several issues, that have not been addressed. I was told by our Sales Rep and Builder to create tickets in the ticketing portal, but this has done nothing to escalate our reported issues. We have talked to our Neighbors and they are also experiencing the same issues with the Builder and Repairs. This is unacceptable in my opinion when purchasing a new home.

The quality of my new richmond america home is very disappointing. There were many, many issues during my initial walk thru before closing. Some major as the oven would not work without tripping the breaker. Since I would not sign off`on the home as is, the scheduled a final walk through 7 days later and said all issues would be taken care of. On my final walk through, only have of the items were fixed. I signed off only because I already gave my notice to move out but in reality I was wishing I wasn't in contract on this home. Since move in, there have been various issues found. Every ...

Sale Dept Great, Designer Ctr Great, Mortgage Company Great, Insurance Co Great but Construction Dept is lacking Pride and Supervision or actucally there is none and when you send emails you get no reply back and I not even sure they read them because nothing is completed or communicated back to you. Had recommended 2 friends and have gone back to them to express my disappointment and wish I had not referred them due to the construction department. Its just sad and heard from my New Neighbors they have had the same experience.

My overall experience with Richmond American Homes was a very disappointing process. I've had various issues with repairs and currently still need some touch up work done after being moved into my home for over a month. I was constantly told to input claims and after doing so multiple times on the same issues I would never get a response. I've had to be the one to make phone calls and get numbers to higher ups to make sure things would get done. I felt like I was doing the jobs of others and it was ultimately a huge inconvenience. I also had zero communication with my sales agent. When I ...

This is my fourth time buying a home, and it has easily been the most difficult, stressful, and complicated experience I have ever gone through. From dealing with the lender at closing to finally getting the keys, nothing has gone smoothly. I could have handled some bumps in the road, but this has been absolutely unbearable. Now, I am struggling to get warranty issues addressed. Before this, I had only heard positive things about Richmond Homes, but my experience has been far from what I was expecting. I truly regret choosing to purchase from Richmond.

Between a 2 month delay, showing up to a scheduled walk thru 3 times to a home that was clearly not ready for a walk thru, the superintendent not providing a completion date but instead saying "any day now", not communicating with utility company to understand what is pending, the home left sitting with minimal progress for 4 weeks while they wait for a meter, not fixing/completing any repairs leaving it all for us to submit claims AFTER moving in, 2 months after move in only completing 1 repair, & continuous lack of response from superintendent and customer service; what was supposed to be ...

My first walk-through went smoothly, and we addressed all issues. However, my second walk-through was disappointing. I drove two hours only to find that the issues hadn't been resolved.
