Purchased the home last year, purchase was not very efficient because there was to many people involved. A lot of moving parts in the purchase, which was ok but person helping with purchase did not communicate with us. I had to do a lot of follow up calls to find out delays and problems with build. We initially put down 1000 dollars and told we would get the money back, at the end we did not get it back. It was applied to the purchase price which was not part of the purchase. There was so many problems with the in house lender, starting from problems with uploading documents to the ...

If you don’t do any upgrades the quality of material used is very cheap. A lot of simple mistakes are made. Seems like they rush through the process of building these houses. In our experience we had a leak, excess foundation, solar panel box put on wrong, flooring was scratched, carpet was lumpy and you could see the seems, breakers tripping and paint that needed to be redone. They give you a matte finish which scratches and stains very easily. Overall I am happy with my home, just wish everything was done right from the start. It’s a hassle trying to get all these issues fixed while moving ...

we love the city, the community, and the housing styles and brevarde. love our location but the home, the finishing, was rushed too much.. so many things are defective or not done correctly. a few major items also. some are very very negligent that should never have occured unless the team wasn't caring or paying attention. very unprofessional in the finishing items both inside and out. very difficult process to get corrected

Poor customer service and lack of follow through on commitments

Poor responsiveness to issues. Disorganization and lack of commitment to provide good service. Outstanding service items from initial walk through left with no follow through, and I’ve been in the home for 3 months. I have reached out to corporate, left messages and sent emails to sales, with no response. This is my second Richmond American home and the worst follow through in service I have ever experiences. I still have tape throughout the house’s interior and exterior from the first walk through, squeaky floors on the second level, items have gone ignored in my warranty requests. ...

Finish painting not complete. Areas where a second cot of paint were needed didn't get taken care of after the walk through. other items such as doors not latching closed and sliding door adjustments ere needed and not taken care of after the initial walkthrough where they were identified. Now I have to file a warranty claim and that is inconvenient and time consuming. The office staff were great and tried to be helpful.

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been a mixed bag. The response time for repairs is generally prompt, with issues being addressed within a week, which is commendable. However, our buying experience was marred by the incompetence and unhelpfulness of our sales representative. There were instances where my family felt discriminated against, which left a sour taste in our mouths. On the positive side, the home itself is indeed beautiful, located in a gated community comprised of around 31 homes. This sense of exclusivity fosters a community spirit among homeowners, encouraging ...

This is my fourth time buying a home, and it has easily been the most difficult, stressful, and complicated experience I have ever gone through. From dealing with the lender at closing to finally getting the keys, nothing has gone smoothly. I could have handled some bumps in the road, but this has been absolutely unbearable. Now, I am struggling to get warranty issues addressed. Before this, I had only heard positive things about Richmond Homes, but my experience has been far from what I was expecting. I truly regret choosing to purchase from Richmond.

Between a 2 month delay, showing up to a scheduled walk thru 3 times to a home that was clearly not ready for a walk thru, the superintendent not providing a completion date but instead saying "any day now", not communicating with utility company to understand what is pending, the home left sitting with minimal progress for 4 weeks while they wait for a meter, not fixing/completing any repairs leaving it all for us to submit claims AFTER moving in, 2 months after move in only completing 1 repair, & continuous lack of response from superintendent and customer service; what was supposed to be ...

This was my FIRST home buying experience and it went fairly easily. The sales team was exceptional, the loan team was okay, the building team was also fine. The loan team had some gaps in communication throughout the process due to their volume of applicants. The construction team also felt pressed for time and breezed through the inspection but they completed most of the adjustments.

I bought the home December of last year. Inspection had minor issues. Afterward, the second walkthrough also had not fixed issues. They asked me to waived inspection because it was a new house. Maybe I should not have agreed. In addition, even though I paid 20%, they didn't go over that I could opt out of paying taxes every month. I also submitted a request to fix more minor issues. It was hard to get the issues resolved.

Mixed Experience: A Review of Our Home Purchase Journey

We recently went through the process of purchasing a home, and while there were certainly positive aspects, there were also some significant challenges that we encountered along the way. Let's start with the positives. Firstly, the front office sales team was exemplary. They were consistently cordial, communicative, and attentive to our needs throughout the process. Their professionalism made navigating the initial stages of the purchase relatively smooth. Secondly, securing a mortgage through the lender was surprisingly easy. We appreciated the efficiency and clarity they provided, ...

When we did our walk through, we were told all repairs would be done on a timely manner, which has not been the case. We are going on our third month and we still have several issues, that have not been addressed. I was told by our Sales Rep and Builder to create tickets in the ticketing portal, but this has done nothing to escalate our reported issues. We have talked to our Neighbors and they are also experiencing the same issues with the Builder and Repairs. This is unacceptable in my opinion when purchasing a new home.

Purchased and contract was to close in 2 months on a specific date when the home was to be completed. 1 week after contracting the insurance provider is the one that told me the builder is closing 2 weeks earlier. I could go on and on about the disappointment but let's just say the home was no where completed when I closed. The title company was hacked- not there fault but the had no communication an entire 2 weeks before closing. I never knew where I was signing or when. It was not a good experience. I felt sorry for the sales professional doing everything she could but the disorganization ...

I came across Richmond by luck, on the MSL website. I had an awesome realtor couple Aurora/Hector. After seeing multiple homes and meeting sales people I went with Richmond. I will say that my sales Rep Lawrence since day one I met him was very pleasant. I say that because I am a first time buyer and I do not always match what I show on paper, if you know you know what I mean. Lawrence was the most informative, respectful, transparent, funny, knowledgeable sales rep I ran across. He let me ask all “non dumb” questions that every sales people were seemed annoyed to answer. I would like all prospective buyers to know that our home was deemed certified and ready for habitation 5 weeks AFTER the planned losing date. During our walk through 35 items were still listed as substandard and in need of repair. After moving in, we needed to move to a hotel for 8 nights while the builder removed construction materials from the sewer line that they were notified were blocking the sewer line 7 weeks PRIOR to their certification. We have turned in 12 additional service requests in the first 3 weeks in the home and ONLY TWO have been repaired as of 33 days in the home. ...

progress on the house was pushed back 2 times and then when it came to the end of the month they pushed us in due to rate locks even though the house was not finished to our liking. We went to 3 separate walk throughs and items on our punch list were not taken care of and a month into living here have still not been taken care of or even discussed when the work would be done. Our closing date was changed twice due to missing electrical and gas meter. Moving my family from the far side of the state, made our experience even worse on so many levels. After the final walkthrough and after we moved in, we noticed a few items that still have not been addressed. For example, we have a temporary oven. Still waiting for the one we ordered, in the laundry room the wrong fuse amp was installed. Its supposed to be 20 amp instead of 15, therefore we haven't washed our clothes going 2 weeks! The laundry room cabinet is partially installed, front porch light is not ...
