While we understand that this is a new home development and that, as the first homeowners, there can be unexpected issues that arise, there have been several significant concerns that have impacted our quality of life. The most notable issue has been the severe drainage problems, which have significantly delayed the completion of our backyard. After months of waiting, these drainage concerns have still not been resolved. While we have been told that Richmond Homes is working on a solution, there have been very few updates or a clear timeline for when a plan will be implemented. Fortunately, many homeowners documented the flooding by taking their own photos and videos when their backyards were inundated. These records have become an important part of understanding the extent of the problem. There also appear to be concerns with the original drainage design, as water is being directed toward the front of the homes, resulting in substantial runoff flowing onto the streets. After approximately four months of waiting for a resolution—and even longer for some homeowners—a planning engineer and surveyor visited the community yesterday to assess the situation. We are hopeful this is a positive step toward developing a permanent solution. It has also been homeowners who have provided much of the documented evidence of the flooding, although we are unsure what documentation Richmond Homes has collected internally. The home itself is great and Solita was incredible. Home American Mortgage, however, was the most painful lender experience imaginable. We had to essentially micro manage them and continuously follow up to ensure we stayed on track to close on time. We were so diligent to gather all of the documents they needed and then they would go silent for a week. Coincidentally, when I reached out to ensure they had everything they needed, they would let us know they needed additional documentation. We had our own lender that had us fully underwritten in two days. These guys took over a month with a TON of back and forth. Almost worth paying the extra points to use your own lender. Purchasing my home with Richmond American Homes at Seasons at Riverton South Plumas Lake was a great experience from start to finish. I can honestly say their team made the process feel smooth, organized, and straightforward. Communication was consistent, the closing process timeline was above expectation, and they did a good job explaining each step without making it feel overwhelming. Whenever I had questions, the team was responsive and helpful, and the walkthroughs were thorough. I also appreciated the attention to detail and how they handled items that came up along the way. The home is nice and for the most part well made. Warrenty gal Gale for inside the house is amazing. We have a drainage issue so our front and back are flooded and killing the grass. There’s also a drainage cap missing. I brought this up as soon as we moved it. I messaged our sales rep Chris D. and he pretty much blew off the issue and said there’s nothing he can do to help us. He became rude about helping us after we bought the house.

Great home BUT. Our counter is coming OFF of the wall after living here for 2 WEEKS and we were told it’s OUR problem. NO. Our stairs have 4 staples per stair facing UP. Our children have suffered cuts and bleeding from our stairs. That’s an absolutely Ridiculous and I’m sure you as a company would agree that these issues, especially children getting hurt from your stair staples, is ridiculous.

Pretty exciting experience. Definitely took quite a bit of work but they really make sure that all bases are covered. Their also very responsive, always a super fast response.

My experience with American Richmond is overall neutral after my horrible experience with one of their sales representatives named Victoria. She at first was polite and responsive, however after I entered in contract her behavior changed and I wrote her a polite email asking a question to which she responded extremely rudely and dismissively to my inquiries. I made a complaint and sent the email evident to corporate American Richmond. Victoria’s manager also reached out at one point and instead of apologizing for Victoria behavior she began to answer the questions I had originally inquired to Victoria in the original email. When I explained to her the actual issue is Victoria rude behavior she then apologized but it just further proved that they don’t care about the customer experience. After that Victoria then later went behind my back told my realtor, the lender, the title company that I am trying to get her fired and everyone behavior toward me became cold. The home I am happy with but my experience was not good due to this and I will tell others as well. In such a large purchase it’s extremely disappointing to go through this. ... More

I like Richmond American home,this the reason buy house. All over is good,only I don’t like kitchen countertops. I have to pay for seal the countertops. Costumer service good,Katrina and Gayle both very nice,both did great job. I very happy and recommend other people

I would like to express my concerns regarding the materials and design used in the construction of the new house. The materials chosen are of poor quality, and it appears that proper attention was not given to detail during the building process. Additionally, the overall design does not seem to have been carefully planned. For example, windows were not placed where they are most needed, resulting in areas of the house lacking natural light. In some rooms, the windows are too small to provide sufficient ventilation and daylight, which significantly affects both comfort and energy efficiency.

I would have liked to have a person at the home realtor office helping out with qualifying for loans, signing and assisting on important papers. None of that was done, it was assumed that all people have computers, tablets, or phones. Everything was rushed and signed papers need to be signed at the last minute, late in the evening. When everything was done the gentlemen and the lady who presented the house, showed how everything worked and how to take of it and if anything need to be corrected give them a call. I thought that was good.

Honestly, the process of getting a loan was alot of work. Since we don't have a Realtor representing us. But everything else was smooth sailing. The representative and everyone involved was excellent with quick response to my questions or need. I will definitely recommend richmond home to my friends and family

We were misinformed by the sales agent with an accent on a number of things such as side yard size, HOA fees, if the neighboring houses were already sold, who our neighbors would be, possibility of switching to another lot, how soon the neighborhood will be built out and others. She is a talented lier.

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been nothing short of a disaster, and I feel compelled to warn potential buyers. From misleading information to shockingly poor quality and abysmal customer service, this builder has proven to be a master of deception. Before closing, we were provided incorrect school zoning information. It later became clear they had the correct details but deliberately withheld them until after the closing date. This blatant dishonesty alone should be a massive red flag for anyone considering their homes. Their claims of "good quality" are an absolute joke. On the very first day we moved in, all the toilets were inexplicably clogged. We desperately tried to reach their emergency team, but there was no response, forcing my family, including my elderly mother, to seek refuge at a friend's house in the middle of the night. The emergency team finally showed up the next day. Not only did they fail to apologize for this horrific ordeal, but they also didn’t reimburse me. This level of disregard for their customers' well-being is simply unacceptable. Beyond the initial plumbing nightmare, we've been plagued with numerous other quality issues. Doors, windows, and water taps all presented problems, and while some were eventually "fixed," these repairs often took an excessive amount of time, and new issues continue to emerge even after the so-called fixes. It's clear that their homes are built with the cheapest materials and/or minimal care. I've already saved several friends from making the same mistake, directing them to a more reputable builder instead. I urge anyone considering Richmond American Homes to treat them as your absolute last option. Be extremely cautious with their sellers, as they seem to prioritize making a sale over providing accurate information. I genuinely feel tricked and misled by this builder. Overall a very good experience. Walk through team was amazing. Some areas of concern were not addressed and I was left the supplies to paint these areas myself however DJ is great and responds ASAP

Bought a model house couple months ago already started having problems with water leaking everywhere there’s cracks all over my exterior walls and no one takes the responsibility.

Great group of people to work with. All very professional and courteous. People I would be friends with for life and invite to my home for BBQ and family events. My wife and I felt comfortable and important. Gail has been a blessing and on top of all repairs and follow-ups. Loan process was challenging but Chris made us feel appreciated through the process. We just moved in and noticed a couple of small issues we did not see during our walk through! As soon as I put my request in Richmond was on it!! Our community is still under construction and the Superintendent’s make sure that if their crews are being disruptive in any way, they put a stop to it! We love our home!!

Superintendent Kurtis knows what he's doing. They are all helpful.
