GREAT Experience with Richmond American!

We had a great experience from start to finish! Andrew was a pleasure to work with and was always available to chat… even on his days off. We purchased from out of state and he held several virtual house walks that helped our buying experience. We also paid for a 3rd party inspector who came back and said “this is one of the best new construction houses he has seen in years”! This put us at ease. And even though there are always little things that come up after closing, they are always quick to react and have addressed everything! Nick with the warranty team have been great. This has been a ...

Exceptional Experience from the beginning to now!

I really can't say enough great things about my home buying experience. As a single person buying a home, it was all quite overwhelming but everyone has been so kind and helpful. Brent was amazing throughout the buying process (going above and beyond such as measuring the refrigerator space). Then, the get the house perfect for move in team (I believe his name was Zach) was outstanding -and then I've had a few issues but Nick/Rick have been very responsive and supportive, post move-in. I hope they all know how much their exceptional service has meant to me as a new home buyer. Great job all ...

The overall homebuying experience, quality of the workmanship, materials is good. Responsiveness to issues reported is pretty quick and we did not had any major issues except cosmetic issues after we moved in. We are very happy with Richmond American service

Overall good except some. For example, some minor work were found on final walkthrough still has not been completed yet.

During building process, there is no option to change some minor improvements. For example, I like to change the toggle switch to flat one, change the non efficient light bulb etc. The is only one water outlet in entire hose for outdoor. I would like to have one in backyard but it was not happened.

Experience of home buying is ok

The home is good, but my buying experience is not great. My home was not ready with the occupancy certificate on the date of closing. Builder suggested me to close it on that day and get the keys next or the following day. But I didn't agree to this, so we ended up in closing the home two days after the actual closing date, of-course end up in redoing some of the paper work and end up in taking other day time off for closing which is not good. Sales team, supervisor and finance team are all supportive and moved the closing date to later date smoothl to reduce my burden which is good. ...

This is my second home, but first time with Richmond. Sales representative is great. I appreciate Brad for his prompt replies and sharing progress every week. Construction manager was responsive to the issues reported to him with immediate actions. I am yet to evaluate with the warranty guys as I will need them very soon for the recently discovered construction issues. Overall not a bad experience but could have been better if Richmond had a better policy about after sales and service. This is not people problem, but the Company policy. Problem:. Most of the buyers will have trouble ...

Had a major water leak first week of moving in, had to have whole ceiling replaced in kitchen and living room

I would advise you get a third party inspector to ensure the roof won't leak. I'm also unimpressed with the quality of materials used for the cabinets - no slow close hinges or higher quality wood. Be careful to not be fooled by the "design package" document which shows just SOME of the design elements that will be included in your house. We were showed a design package with hexagonal tiling for the master bath, but instead, we have a cheap plastic master shower.

I did not feel great. Degine of the home is nice but the meterails use are very cheap and but house price is not cheap as they use the meterails quality.

Fairly disappointed with overall craftsmanship of home we paid a lot of money for.

Overall, I'm disappointed in the quality and craftsmanship of our home. After being moved in for just over a month, more and more issues are coming to light. Corners were definitely cut to save the builder money. The home seemed rushed to get completed as well. The silver lining to all of this is that so far, they have been fixing issues in a timely manner once they are brought to them.

Lending Scam to get earnest money

  • Anonymous
  • Verified HomeBuyer

They get you to sign the purchase agreement and put down earnest money under the impression you will get all these benefits, once purchase agreement is signed their lender has impossible standards. They will likely reject you despite being approved by dozens of other lenders. Further the lender requested that I pull my application which would cause a forfeit of earnest money. Do not trust. Do all negotiations up front. They have zero effort in resolving issues.

Richmond American Homes responded:
I’m sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience with your lender. I will reach out to the mortgage company and pass along your feedback.
