Overall the sale person, Jasmine, was a delight and honestly was one of reasons why I ended up purchasing the home. Patrick, the builder, was also great and listened and fixed the issues with the home when I went through the initial walk through. Corey, also great and helped tremendously to get all of the appliances registered under the warranties. Issues: Communication with my mailbox key. My mail box key was not given to me at closing and I was told that the post office had the key. Stood in line at my local post office only for them to tell me they do not have the key, Richmond has the key. Took nearly a week to get contact with Richmond (since no one was at the sales office (this was a different sales office from where Jasmine was stationed at), and I had to contact the Denver office to get a solution) to have someone at the sales office contact me. Sure enough, my mailbox key was at the sales office and the sales person made the remark that they had the key all along and I should have just swung by... Didn't contact me to let me know but instead made me do the unnecessary legwork of trying to find the key for two weeks. The metro district that is in this area is not good and will 100% take your money without helping you get your trash properly set up. This took countless phone calls over 3 weeks to get my trash can and to find out what day my trash day is... Richmond can answer no questions about the metro district and feels like its a scam in the end. ... More

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a smooth experience with a builder before in my life. Everything they had promised was done and then some. First home as a child in Colorado was a Richmond home and now, hopefully my forever, is also a Richmond home!

Still waiting for refund from purchase, have not received an update when it will happen or why it’s taking so long it’s been over 6 weeks since we took possession of the home. That is the reason why I deducted starts.

Rada was great to work with. She was always helpful and there when we needed anything or had any questions. Five stars to Rada.

We bought our first house together, and we went with Richmond American Homes because of the location and price. It was a way better experience than we thought it would be. Everyone we worked with was awesome, totally upfront and honest.

Everything was great. It was a smooth transaction from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

There was really no competition to compare in the area!

Purchasing/ management side was fantastic! The only downside is the builders. When I pointed things out to fix, the builders would cut corners ie. Asked for large rocks & trash removed from crawlspace. Later found out they moved it into a dark corner and put plastic on it to hide the issue... be sure to check EVERYTHING you point out to fix because if they think they'll get away with it they'll try to... their manager was good though I blame the workers.

Amazing employees like Bridgette and Chris made our home buying experience very pleasant. They are very friendly and helpful. They quickly responded to all of our questions and requests/concerns. Mortgage approval and closing went very well and fast.

Stuff breaks and I get it but when you’re told this has happened repeatedly as you’re watching your brand new home being filled with water it’s devastating. But the true anger started after that with a horrible response that I’ve had from Richmond since the flood.

We spent nearly 8 months looking at houses to make into our retirement home. We talked with 5 major developers/builders/sales teams and looked at over 45 houses with our realtor. Our first experience with Richmond American homes was with Shirley. Her teammate, Patricia, was showing a home to another buyer at the time. Shirley took us around to multiple houses in Jackson Creek and took the time to discuss options/differences and opportunities with Richmond American Homes. We then returned for a meeting with Patricia and she went over the specifics of timing, deadlines, and was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and engaging. We then continued looking at other houses, but continued to come back because of Patricia and Shirley. Patricia and Shirley have been heaven-sent. They are an amazing team, they are always willing to go out of their way to explain or assist. Shirley has even taken it upon herself to fix things on the spot after getting supplies out of her personal vehicle when we would flag her down as she drives by. Shirley has been very engaged with multiple contractors to fix specific problems and has coordinated with Brandon on multiple warranty repairs as well. Although we found many places that we liked, the engagements with Shirley and Patricia always brought us back to Richmond American, ultimately purchasing our new home. Finally, Patricia and Shirley continue to call and check up on us. They genuinely care and want to ensure we are happy with our new home. They make us feel like family and not just a transaction. Enjoyed working with the team. Exceeded expectations.

The home buying experience was pretty decent, however I didn't like how I was expected to read all my paperwork and understand all the terminology used, without anyone going over it with me. Being a first time home buyer it would have been nice if someone took the time to go over things with me. I couldn't share my documents with my realtor either. Responsiveness to issues is very poor, it took 3 weeks to address my garage door opener issue, and nearly 2 months to obtain a working set of keys to my home.

Went to the model home about 8 months ago. Told the sales person that we wanted the same paint color inside and out to include the stone work like the model home. Elevation F. She said ok. When our home was built it was the complete opposite. Apparently, everything about our house had already been planned by the builder long before it was built. It seems the sales person told us this just to get a sale in my opinion. Since we were deep in the process of buying our home and it would be hard to get our Earnest money back; we begrudgingly decided to take it. The stone workmanship on the outside looks very poor and hurried. I told Chris the builder it looked like it was done by elementary kids. My friends who drove by said it looked "poor" at best. Chris said that is the way they do it now and nothing could be done about it. The only person I have meet who seems to have any moral integrity is Corey who works on the warranty. He's about the only one I trust. We have several issues that he is working to get corrected. Also, we thought that a couple weeks prior to having the house being finished; we would be called in to see if we wanted upgrades. That never happened. It is very apparent that the cheapest bathroom and sink fixtures were installed to save money. The reason we picked Richmond American is my wife thought they had a fine reputation. I personally don't and feel that way and I'm sure she has changed her opinion as well. After paying half-a-million dollars; sometimes I lies awake at night sorry I bought this place. Oh well, now that I have satisfied your request for my buying experience, you can file it in a black hole somewhere with others who are dissatisfied as well. One last thing; since ours is the only house that is finished and we see a lot of building going on around us; most of the sub-contractors don't even have a company logo on their vehicles. That tells me that much of the work probably went to the lowest bidder. ... More

Honestly the quality of the home mostly seems to be poor. The craftsmanship shows plenty of cut corners. We were lied about a free fence being installed in our backyard and then were quoted over $1000 by Richmond’s fence contractor. The air conditioner has yet to be installed 2 months after moving in and the installers of the HVAC system did a pathetic job. There are some nice features of the home but for the most part it’s clear this company is only after money and have no regard for the homeowner. Fortunately the superintendent of our community has always been helpful.

Our experience with Richmond American was mixed. The trust level and interaction with a offsite sales representative was poor, but the follow up with the construction supervisor was excellent. The quality is what is to be expected with a starter type home.

I have never felt so undervalued as a customer. We sought out this home in March of last year before construction had even started and attempted to make the whole process as easy as possible. We were flexible with all date changes and issues that came up, and throughout the entire time, we never felt like we were a priority. It was extremely disheartening as a military family who had to move across the country for our dream home to face many hurdles and issues in this home-buying process, along with the extreme rudeness and lack of help by the closing director (Amy) who seemed like we were nothing but a problem and inconvenience. It was disappointing to feel so undervalued during this whole home-buying experience. With closing dates getting pushed by months, no assistance or consideration was given to me or my family to help deal with these changes. We were forced to shell THOUSANDS of dollars and live in a hotel for almost a month, while Richmond Homes refused to help or offer any concessions simply because " we are not inclined to offer concessions due to closing date changes." Our family suffered while Richmond Homes made their money off of us. The only redeeming quality of this experience was our construction project manager, Nick. Bought a Richmond American home in Paintbrush Hills subdivision in Falcon CO. Sales staff was very helpful and project manager was ernest about resolving what few Issues I had before closing. The cost of the home was reasonable considering how expensive housing has gotten in Colorado. From the time we signed a contract to closing was really fast as long as I was prepared to get the lending depart everything to them promptly.

Out of all the homes that I looked at, Richmond American Homes offered the best quality at the best price. Also, this was the only neighborhood where the current residents greeted me. I was impressed. I decided to buy the house that same day.
