My only issue is repairs that promise to be fixed have not been fixed or partially fixed. And every home in my subdivision foundation isn’t showing like it is on my home. It seems like another piece of siding should go there. So unfortunately I’m not happy until this matter is taking care of.

I have had to loose four days of work and Im still counting because not all the work was done in a workmanship like manner (it was all subpar). I have photos if you would like. From day one...my yard was completely trashed, I had no hot water, the air was not working, the refrigerator was leaking heavily (they came out twice to fix it). The microwave was installed wrong and it is still not working properly (the vent is not working, this will be the 3rd trip and another day lost at work for me). The materials were bad. My front door had severe damage and had to be replace along with the casing/frame to my pantry door. Nate (warranty guy) looked at the Roof from the front and he has some concerns. The plumbing under the sink was not hooked up properly and I had a water leak and it has cause damage now that needs to be fixed. The dish washer was not installed properly, Sam has tried to fix that twice. The subcontractors tracked cement all over my drive way, garage, entry way and back patio. ugh! The sub contractor installed my down stair light/mirror/sink incorrectly, they had it pinned against the wall instead of centered. I have had a problem with every appliance. Im afraid to run my dishwasher. I have photos of all these things and the long laundry list of things I had problems with from DAY ONE and its still on going. I just discovered my screen sliding door does not lock. I will be rating Richmond on Yelp. I try to be as patient as possible, but I will never get my days lost at work back. We've had to gradually accept the sad truth that, in this day and age, you can't find anyone who will deliver an acceptable product. The housing industry is no exception. Over many months, we observed the building of our new house, in addition to multiple homes in our neighborhood and others. What we saw was subpar work, done hurriedly by workers who either A) don't know what they're doing or B) simply don't care. They obviously put quantity over quality, and the proof shows in the final result. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain here in detail Richmond's failings during the building process, but let's just suffice to say their over-reliance on vendors has created an inefficient and dysfunctional system. Because incompetent craftsman cannot do the job right the first time, Richmond and the buyer spend precious time and effort arguing over who is responsible for items which need fixing. On the occasion Richmond actually accepts responsibility, getting someone to come over and do the repairs is an entirely different challenge altogether. We had to constantly monitor the building process just to keep everyone honest, and were forced to move into a house with multiple unfinished issues just to close on time. Throw in the fact that their in-house lending entity treated us like potential money launderers, and I have to say having Richmond build us this house has been the most stressful experience we've ever been through. Quick and easy experience for home purchase

The process wasn’t difficult, overall great experience working with Amber.

With any new build it’s common advice to be involved in the building process as much as possible. The sales representative was awesome and ensured I had ample walk through given the lead time to closing. In said walk throughs, I listed items that were below the standard or in need of repair months before closing. The week of the final walk through many items had not been resolved and new items came up. The construction team was not aware that my closing was the next morning even though the final walk through and closing had been scheduled and I had come back from out of town. Initially there was pressure to keep the original closing date but I was not willing to close with the home in its current condition. Corporate or whoever decided that because there were so many issues remaining they would push closing. At closing corrections had clearly been made. Workmanship to final touches of the home were bad. Grass had many dead patches. Plants planted sideways. Sprinkler installed with wrong sprinklers. Had to higher painters and cleaners to remove paint off of fixtures and repaint. Drywall repairs due to break in that happened while the home wasn’t mine cracked almost immediately. Interior door did not close (fixed by moving plate - sticks off the wall). Warranty repairs left more damage to paint / wall. Exterior of home need washing. Sliding door not level when installed has to be completely replaced. They installed mandatory white cabinets that have construction hand marks in them that I cannot seem to get out. Construction dirt / hand marks in freezer and refrigerator upon move in. Dryer not hooked up to vent (found out after drying a load of clothes of course). Any damage done during construction is essentially painted over. I can see where damage was. Beautiful floor plan but if you are hoping to buy new so that you do not have much maintenance this is not the builder for you. Upgrades are required to make the home appealing if your hoping to eventually sell it or rent it. I love my new home ,Richmond American home you the best they take of you

Not only were there delays along the way, the whole process was extremely unprofessional. Our inspector found two leaks prior to closing and they were less than accommodating. The first walk through was put on us as homeowners to point out deficiencies (which 30 days after closing 90% of the list has not even been discussed). Upon moving in we noticed a THIRD leak which was blamed on everything else and it took 3 plumbers to come in to identify and remedy the problem. Sewage came INTO our house from the toilet they left unattached AND we found roofing screws in our drain. Warranty said they "do not cover clogs" so this was put on us as homeowners. Our floors are currently tore up with hopes to be completed before the end of the month. These are only a few of the major concerns with our build with Richmond Homes. ... More

It started with being told Richmond wanted to close at the end of September. I was told at the end of the month they had no intention of doing so and the construction crew had until the end of October to finish. My family moved across country and had to live in hotels and Air BnBs paying out of pocket. The garage flooring was left cracked with nails and glue still on it, ice maker in refrigerator still doesn’t work, home wasn’t pressure washed, yard was trashed during irrigation maintenance which still floods my yard. I had to reschedule movers multiple times due to Richmond’s delays. There was also u used paint, times, vinyl planks, long pieces of wood, and dead frogs left in the home. This is just to name a few things. I am now choosing to deal with it myself rather than Richmond. Terrible home buying experience over all. ... More
