Overall our experience has been positive. This positive experience was driven by David, Carl and Austin. My initial support system was very lack and almost deterred us from buying but the crew of gentlemen came in and showed us otherwise.

Would highly recommend that home buyers have a pre-dry wall and final inspection and do not assume because it's new construction that everything is fine. My inspection revealed workmanship that would void the manufacturer's warranty.

Horrible Customer Service

We are now 7 weeks after closing and they still have not repaired items from the pre closing walk. We have submitted warranty items back from the beginning of September and no one has reached out.

Our house was built very fast. Because of the speed of the build, some details were glossed over. Window trim drywall is wavy around the windows. The painters that were used to paint our house are pretty bad. Many parts of the house had to be re-painted due to poor quality. The painters left a lot of paint spots on the floors and did not appear to use drop clothes while painting. The other problem is that they spread caulk and drywall on the carpet that I have been cleaning up. The ceiling drywall is wavy. What should have been a pleasant experience has been anything but. Closing was pushed back a month after the initial walkthrough and at final walkthrough several items had not been addressed. We have been in the house for more than a month and are still waiting for items to be corrected that must now go through a warranty company as it is past the closing date. The quality of the workmanship is not up to par. It seems as if there was a premium placed on finishing the work, not on the workmanship

The people I worked with, sales and construction, are outstanding and continue to be so. They are just being asked to do too much, too fast and the results show it. Lots of little/moderate problems that were indicative of this. Not real pleased with that, not much else to say. I chose to buy, so it is my fault. GET EVERYTHING DONE BEFORE CLOSING, even punch list items that they promise will get done asap because even these have been an absolute pain in the rear to get taken care of. And you think that's hard, warranty is absolute garbage, you have to get the top manager involved or you won't be getting a response. You would think buying a new construction would save you alot of headache amd give you piece if mind but it's the complete opposite for me. Too many issues from a leaking roof, leaking hot water tank, garage door replacement, back sliding door that wouldn't lock, unpainted stucco, shaking tiles in the master bath and appliances that were not hooked up. My case went from first lot flooded and they did not tell me anything at all when I noticed i had to request a lot change they have very bad communication for the closing the house has a lot of details to be fixed thru warranty request and still yet had not contact me after the superintendent told me he would take care of it he later backup and ask for a warranty request lack of compromise just wont recommend them at all really let them be your last option

They will over promise and under deliver. Everything was a quick fix during the walk around but they waited a month after closing and my consistent follow up to start making repairs that were supposed to be done prior to closing and then postponed by the builder to the week after closing. To name a few: -water hoses in the washer are cross connected -unable to use a broken tub for a month now and builder is MIA. -they show you better quality appliances and then go with the cheapest. -a door doesn't latch - ceiling was not properly painted -floor has stains -house wasn't ...

Listing out all the issues and horrible customer service we experienced would do nothing for anyone. So, save yourself the time and heartache and DO NOT BUY A RICHMOND AMERICAN HOME. Take your hard earned money and spend it somewhere else. All the reviews are true. Horrible craftsmanship, quality is cheap and customer services (after they take your money) is less than stellar. Since starting the process with Richmond American homes it has been a nightmare. The only good person i meet was the Sales agent, everyone after him has been horrible.
