I wanted to wait to write this review, after being in the home for a liitle. Overall experience was good, Erik in the office was great no issues, always took our calls and our questions. Our biggest problem is all of the finish work that was completed or not really completed. Alot of stuff was just touched up quickly so that they could close the house. Our baseboards/trim and walls are probably the worst; uneven and rushed. We still have people coming back to fix things; it just takes so long even though we've paid and we are in our home. It's really just an inconvenience to us as the ...

Be prepared to moved in and have trades in an out of your home for the first few months. Everyone is very nice, but after you move in you will notice blemishes and issues that may have you questioning the workmanship and value of your home. The good news, you have a 1-year warranty to ensure trades come in to fix issues (but read the fine print).

Beautiful Homes and Neighborhood

Beautiful homes and neighborhood as the title suggests. We bought our first home in NV and coming from the east coast. Little issues here and there but took the home care team 3-6 weeks to resolve the issues. Shower rod for 1 of our bathrooms was forgotten and didn’t get to use it for almost 1 month until I called Corporate Center. Otherwise we’ve been happy with our purchase.

Window is cracked already and I have to wait a month for a replacement. Paint is poorly done with drip marks all over. All the screws in the house are lose. The stucco is coming off already. The floor makes noise and it’s not even level. This house was built too quickly and with poor attention to detail.

Mixed experience with Richmond American Homes

I recently purchased a home from Richmond American Homes and wanted to share my overall experience. On the positive side, the home is well-designed, and the construction quality is generally good. However, my overall rating falls at a B due to a few notable concerns. One significant aspect is the lack of attention to detail during the construction process. This has required assertiveness on my part to address and have issues remedied. While the customer service from Richmond American Homes is responsive, it could benefit from more proactive problem-solving. Setting average expectations ...

Buyer Beware.

On the day of my walkthrough, the electrical was not working in the kitchen, no hot water, the back fence was crushed by a tractor, screens missing and torn and so forth. The person conducting the walkthrough for Richmond had no idea of the condition of the house because Richmond did not complete a pre inspection. All this means that Richmond rushes to get you to the closing table, hoping to push you into a long post closing list. Any buyer should be aware that it is highly unlikely that anyone from Richmond will come back to complete the "post-closing" punch list. I've not seen anyone, ...

Not the best

The home is over priced for the cheap materials used in building the structure. The workmanship is dismal. Multiple feature in the house need to be fixed from replacing windows, sliding glass door, driveway pavers, cabinet drawers and doors and quart’s shower wall. All of these items need to be fixed and have yet to be fixed. The Richmond American home specialist was notified of the issues and still has not reached out to set a time for repairs. We have been living in our home for three months now with no word. I would not buy a home from Richmond American again. I will never recommend them ...

First off, the house itself is very nice. The floor plan is awesome, the materials aren’t bad. It’s a very welcoming home. However, 1 month later. The screen door has popped off, the locks wouldn’t lock from the beginning, no body has came and fixed it. Our garage door opens our neighbors and our front door handle is coming lose. The home buying was incredibly frustrating. The loan process took way too long. Our loan officer Deacon kept us updated as much and as well as he could. From getting told “we’d close tomorrow” to it being delayed 4 weeks because of reasons I have never heard ...

The quality and workmanship was terrible when I closed so to get it fixed, we had to contact customer service, Jennifer, for every issue that needed fixing especially the one’s that weren’t fixed by the final walkthrough. Every time I call customer service, up until now, she does not respond for weeks and only responds when she’s forced to. She’ll say I’m not talking to her properly. Well guess what? When you don’t respond to customers who wants to get their house fixed because the builder didn’t do a good job to begin with…Customers will eventually get mad because you all don’t care about ...

We were told to sign and close escrow, even though the house was not finished. We were promised items on our walk through list would be repaired and finished before closing. Nothing was fixed, we’re three month in. Made two mortgage payments and the repairs are still not done. All our bathroom light fixtures were broken or damaged. Our dryer was damaged, we were told that it was all set up for us to call GE Cares. Called GE Cares. They had no record of our house even having GE appliances. I understand there are many other houses that also need attention. The construction of the house really ...

Extremely Poor Workmanship

I work in the remodel/rehab and new residential and commercial construction industries. The home I purchased fails to meet basic, minimum industry standards. Poor finish work. Five weeks since close and still not moved in because repairs not complete. Unskilled labor executing tasks requiring high-level, specific skills (skip trowel texture). New windows won’t open and told that’s how they are. False. Threshold improperly installed and told that’s how it is. False. Four property walks later and only the drywall and texture issues addressed, but these repairs were inadequate to the point the ...

From the start, we were bait and switched on a " promotional" interest rate. " get down here by tomorrow to get this rate", Then when we make the decision to commit to the largest financial purchase either of us had ever made, only to be told oh, wait, you cannot get that promotion because of a construction production issue. So.. we held up our end, but they mess up and we pay for it. Turned out, par for the course with Richmond. Next, the builder would not work with us at all during the build, we stepped into a build that had already started, however, it was only a concrete slab, ...

One of the 1st to buy and last to move in because they failed to preplan and see that the pole in my lot needed to be moved, took 2 yrs for me to move in and because it was rushed there have been all sorts of issues with the house. It's no wonder there have been several Class Action Lawsuits brought against them!

The sales agent is excellent, but unfortunately, the home is poorly built with numerous issues. Moreover, I discovered that the construction of the home did not adhere to building department codes. During the walkthrough, they may attempt to deceive you to cover their mistakes. So when the issue happens, they will not be responsible. I will be filing to the contractor board
