Richmond is the best! Everyone was very hard working, helpful, diligent, and kind. No question went unanswered and if there was a problem it got fixed. Couldn’t recommend this builder more! We have been in the house for 1 month and absolutely love it. Thank you Richmond America :)

Sales people were great…ever other part of the buying experience was not good.

The home buying process with Richmond was difficult. There was a lack of communication and hiding information across the board. The actual quality of the home is poor and the workers lied countless times about what they fixed before move in. Now I don’t receive any responses for requests to fix issues within the home, including ones they claimed were fixed. The mortgage company (because you are forced to use their mortgage company and insurance company if you want to use the credits) sold the mortgage without notifying me. The insurance company was deceitful as well they provided one quote and then the representative I was working with stopped responding and their colleague completely changed it. ... More

Richmond American delivers quality construction and impressive floor plans at very competitive prices. Some of the usual problems with quality of workmanship that are easily corrected with applied attention to detail. Staff is responsive and easy to work with. Very happy with all aspects of my purchase.

Great experience! Love my home so much! The sales agents were very kind and knowledgeable! Would recommend Richmond American homes over other builders in the area. Their level of construction is top tier and they offer really great floor plans that are hard to find else where!

Unfinished home upon closing and it's been a hassle to get anything fixed or finished in the 30 days since closing. Still waiting!

This is our 13th new home that we have purchased Over the past 59 years of marriage and the 2nd worse experience. The home wasn't even ready for move in even after closing. They even left the home dirty and dry wall dropping everywhere in the garage.

The sales rep, Jennifer, was a pleasure to work with! She answered our questions and messages at all times of the day. She went out of her way to assist us in this purchase. The site superintendent, Arnold, and his assistant were very responsive and professional to work with. They made sure things were corrected after the initial walk-through. Very much appreciated the on-site team for this development.

Richmond builds the exact same home differently (e.g., garage is finished in one, but not the next). Then they claim that code does not require it be finished. All of which may be true, but why am I be punished for making a down payment when the lot is released. Then my neighbor comes along gets the garage finished and pays less for their house. Only one example of how inconsistent and unprofessional Richmond can be.

What should be a very nice home is actually somewhat of a nightmare. The home looked great initially, but after moving in and taking a closer look, I found so many problems, I hardly know where to begin: horrible stucco finish work, many ungrounded light fixtures, scratched appliances, front door not hung plumb, damaged grout, no screen door handle, no product shelf in the primary shower, I could go on and on.

I looked at a few different builders in the area and this one stood out for building with above average materials and not making them options. Beautiful area with views of nature really won me over as well. The process was so fast it’s surreal. They all worked together like a fine oiled machine. I saw it a closed in less than 3 weeks. Amazing experience.

Review I just submitted for Richmond: I am overall happy with my home. I love it. It’s very comfortable. Sales person Glenda was amazing! I am disappointed in the workmanship of a few items. Some things I know can and will be fixed but there are a few big things. One, the drywall in the home is terrible. You can see bowed areas in the hallway now that we have painted. The drywall is literally cracking at the seams in other places, so you can see clear seams and cracking of the walls coming through. Now this will need to be fixed and I am told my paint will not be fixed. The builder paint which is of course a different color than my newly painted interior will be fixed, but not my paint. I’m not happy about the inconvenience this will cause of course but now the expense of repainting due to nothing I have done wrong is unacceptable. The second big thing is that apparently my home is missing some AC connectors and returns in a few rooms making one room that my daughter lives in very warm. We’re waiting for the parts for that and hopefully there will not be damage. So those two major things that will require literal cutting into the home are very unfortunate and disappointing to say the least. It would be appreciated if at least Richmond could not just dismiss my request to fix my paint after the drywall gets cut into. At this point, I’m on the fence about whether I would recommend Richmond. I suppose it depends on how these two huge items are handled. ... More

It’s been a month since we moved into our new home, and overall, I’m very satisfied with our homebuying experience. The entire process went smoothly, and I truly appreciate everyone who helped us along the way from our New Home Sales Consultant Santiago, to the Home Superintendent Dylan, and the Ashland Home Care Representative. They’ve all been responsive, professional, and always available whenever I reached out. As for the house, we’re really enjoying it so far. It’s bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Every corner reflects quality and care, and it’s quickly become a place we love coming home to every day. 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointed with Richmond American Homes – Poor Communication and Follow-Through I purchased a home with Richmond American Homes in Second Creek (Commerce City, CO), and my experience has been extremely frustrating. Once the sales rep completed the sale, they completely abandoned me. They stopped answering my calls, texts, and emails — not even a courtesy response to my follow-up questions about my home or the promised post-closing items. To make matters worse, the construction supervisor has also failed to take responsibility for sprinkler lines that were buried on the property Line that were supposed to be repaired. Despite multiple requests and reminders, nothing has been fixed. It feels like as soon as they handed me the keys, they disappeared and stopped caring altogether. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and accountability from a builder as large as Richmond. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, follow-up, and customer service has left me completely disappointed. If you’re considering buying a Richmond home in this community, be cautious and make sure you get every promise in writing — because once you close, you may be on your own. ... More

Buying the home was made easy by PJ the sales agent. So far have been upgrading the house before actual moving in. All issues so far have been taken care of in a timely fashion.

Where do we start… We purchased our house sight unseen. The quality looked great on the brochures!! It is far from it. They use low grade contractors that don’t care how they build it. The craftsmanship is horrible. We have had SEVERAL issues on our house from day 1 and still going to day 95. Yeah sure they will send out their contractors but be for warned they will only patch or do amiss poor job repairing anything you ask them. We are living in hell and wish we could take it all back. We tried several times to contact their corporate center only to be ghosted!! Absolutely terrible communication throughout the entire process. We have never made a worse decision than this building our lives and we have built several houses. If we could give them zero stars we would……. You all have been warned! ... More

A couple things, first the sales representative was horrible, total lack of response to multiple inquires, I felt many times he blew us off. As far as the home, I’m mostly happy but there are a few issues I would expect a seasoned builder to get right. First not all studs are 16” on center, a big problem I noticed when mounting brackets for TVs in what I consider logical places. Some I found were 17, some at 21, very frustrating. Also electrical outlets, same with TV locations, they are not center in walls where they should be logically. This shows poor care in craftmanship

We purchased a new build from Richmond American and were hesitant about the "new build nightmare" you hear so much about. But, so far, we have no regrets about purchasing this home. When we did have an issue, we were able to get the help we needed, and the issue was resolved on a holiday within a few hours.

Suri was always professional, understanding and very responsive to questions or concerns. We think very highly of him and his overall way of going about business with Richmond Homes and a potential buyer. I will recommend him to anyone inquiring about buying a home and steer them towards Richmond Homes and tell them to deal exclusively with Suri. I know that any sales person's main thing is to sell a property but with Suri we felt that making sure we received a quality experience along with the home in the manner we could best afford was also foremost in dealing with us. We never felt pressured or pushed towards things that were not needed. His knowledge of the home product itself and all of the features, appliances and overall features impressed us and helped greatly in the home buying process. I love the home but here are the issues and this isn’t all of them. The air vent is located right next to the shower so it blows cold air right on you in the hot shower that’s a poor design, closed the air vent and that resolves that. Electrical issues lights blink in one area and fireplace makes a weird clicking sound repetitively that’s maddening. The major issue is I haven’t can’t cook a meal on my stove and I’ve lived there over a month because no one wants to fix or take responsibility for it not working and I’m currently going through the GE appliances website scheduling an appointment two weeks out so it’ll probably be two months in before I can cook a meal on the stove which is frustrating. ... Overall, mostly positive experience. The sales, and construction team were professional. The only exception was the representative for American Home Insurance, who recommended and attempted to push the highest possible insurance and underwrote a policy for $750K for a $500K loan. Needless to say, it was cancelled immediately after closing. Only minimal items noted after move-in. For example, ship item sticking up from under carpet in one room.

If you do not use Richmond to buy a home, shame on you. I would rather be homeless, than live in a home that is not Richmond. Do yourself a favor and consult Richmond for your home buying needs.

Very good experience. Would do it again

I would have liked to have a person at the home realtor office helping out with qualifying for loans, signing and assisting on important papers. None of that was done, it was assumed that all people have computers, tablets, or phones. Everything was rushed and signed papers need to be signed at the last minute, late in the evening. When everything was done the gentlemen and the lady who presented the house, showed how everything worked and how to take of it and if anything need to be corrected give them a call. I thought that was good.

We had a good experience. The Sales person was awesome.
