Because it's my first home, I really expected to have a good experience. But it's been terrible. My house came full of defects. And I have to beg for the warranty to be fixed. There were things I asked someone else to do myself because I gave up.

Still waiting for refund from purchase, have not received an update when it will happen or why it’s taking so long it’s been over 6 weeks since we took possession of the home. That is the reason why I deducted starts.

Nate and Jessi were both very pleasant to work with. Both are professional and personable. I would recommend Richmond American Homes.

We recently purchased and moved into a new home. Overall, we like the house. Unfortunately, many of our blue tape items were not taken care of prior to moving like we were told they would be, including items that should have been resolved prior to closing. The responsiveness of the team has been less than ideal. Several of our items (broken concrete, broken screen door- to name a few) are still unresolved. We recognize we are not the only customers. However, when you purchase a home, there are certain expectations that have not been met.

Not honoring the pre closing agreement to fix the standing water, backyard useless warranty rep and manager lies nothing is fixed fraudulent tendencies. I Strongly recommend staying away

Most of the actual buying facts that we responded to were not correct or they were altered to fit Richmond Homes. We were told we were purchasing our home at 2.99 3.99 4.99, never happened. We put an additional $15,000 dollars down to qualify for all the great rates, but that dismal a difference either. We. Were quoted a price, and interest rate and payment from our sales person. They were not accurate and when we went back to question him he left quite. We had know one to help. Even though it was quoted in print it didn’t seem to matter. Rada was great to work with. She was always helpful and there when we needed anything or had any questions. Five stars to Rada.

We bought our first house and in general we are very happy. I would have like that they have spend a little extra on some of the products Special the cabinets in the kitchen, I would have prefered more draws. The light installation is fine but there is some details that could have been fixed for cost less than a $100 and I would have been happy to pay the difference. The findings we have had they ahve respond very fast and it have been a pleasure to work with them

When we first started looking at the new Westridge homes, we were greeted and treated with excellence in customer service from Abby at the sales office, it continued with HomeAmerican loan officer Shawna who guided us thru the process with ease, Steven at the home site was extremely helpful and completed the walk thru before we moved in and repaired any small items. Recently Madison went thru the 30-day walk thru, to again repairing any items that came up after a month of living in the home. We are extremely pleased how well Richmond American has taken care of us and made everything so easy. Their secure portal made submitting documentation so easy. Richmond American has made the buying process the best we have ever had, and we have bought 3 new construction homes so we know and speak from experience. I really love the home itself, but getting issues identified during inspection addressed has been a real pain. The process feels slow and frustrating, and it takes way too much follow-up to get things resolved. The house is great, but I wish the post-inspection support was smoother, more responsive and reliable.

Jose and Anthony were extremely knowledgeable, professional and quickly responded to our questions and concerns.

We love the neighborhood and most aspects of the house. The employees have been top notch. The location is good and the spacing between the houses is nice and that is what enticed us to purchase. The overall quality is not great. Its obvious Richmond is mainly concerned about low costs by using cheap supplies and not finishing key rooms like the laundry room. The cement in the basement is obviously not level and you can feel it even under the carpet and pad. Speaking with neighbors they experience the same issue. This is 2025, leveling cement is not a new technology. Its clear low cost vendors were used who don't care about their work. The landscaping is cheap and its obvious it was only installed to meet the HOA standards. Putting in plants that look like weeds doesn't add to the curb appeal of the property. Mulch in key areas smells when its wet and washes away quickly. Again, another example of low cost/poor quality. Richmond needs to decide what market they want to be in moving forward. if you are going to keep selling $1.1 million homes or higher then it might serve you well to look at quality. Higher end buyers are not going to want cheap quality for that price point. If I would have known about the cheap quality, we would have looked at other home builders before Richmond. Experience was fantastic. Everyone involved was on top of their game. Home buying process was fast and smooth. Any minor issues that have come up since moving in have been addressed in a timely and efficient manner. And this is only the beginning, there is so much help that Richmond American offers for the first year. Would definitely buy another Richmond American Home

I was told my house isn’t worth the asking price and it could appraise for less. It did not. They used this as a sales tactic to convince me to buy at an inflated price. They offer incentives but it’s a far stretch to get them to utilize all of them. Tried negotiating with them for weeks and ultimately gave in to them because we were tired of their games. They didn’t make the sales experience enjoyable. Defects started to show close to closing. The assistant superintendent was giving push back about work being completed. The actual superintendent was extremely helpful and the warranty company has been responsive. In the end, I learned a lot of buyer bewares to look out for. You will experience it almost anywhere with a newly built community. I just wanted to express my dissatisfaction with this specific community. ... More

We enjoy our new home and love the view. The walkthrough, purchasing, and handoff process went great until they tell you the things you need to do before you can move into the house. Beware that you need to seal the grout, fill the joints in the garage floor, and run a new sprinkler control wire so that we can add zones for the back yard.

From my experience there were many issues with buying a home from Richmond. I feel I got ripped off over and over again. My dad bought a home from Taylor Morrison and I can tell the difference in the quality of the his home and he had overall a better experience. If I wasn’t locked in I wouldn’t have bought this home from Richmond. Never again

1. Poor Workmanship From day one, the home showed signs of subpar construction—sloppy finishes, sloppy installations, and corners that clearly prioritized speed over quality. 2. AC Broke Within Three Months Our central air conditioning failed just three months after move-in. With 109 deg temp inside home, we had to stay I hotel before it was fixed. 3. Front door lock broke in two months. It was replaced after a month. 4. Cockroaches Emerging from the Sewer Then came the worst: cockroaches crawling up through the drains. This often means there’s a plumbing issue—like cracks in the sewer line or P-traps that have dried out, offering pests a highway into your home These pests aren’t just gross—they carry allergens. The builder has not yet addressed this issue. We are dealing with all these during hot summer months. What a shame. ... More

I love my home. I’m grateful everyday the entire team played a role in me obtaining the American dream. There were some small hiccups, however the were addressed and handled with urgency and respect for us. I have told several friends about this builders product. Respectfully

Overall I really love my house and I would provide a mostly positive review for Richmond American Homes. The sales folks and financing team really made the process easy as a first time homebuyer and I think I got a good price and deal on my house. The house did not have window blinds and did not have a screened in back pation, but after I insisted to have that installed prior to purchasing the home the sales staff agreed, which saved me the time and money of installing those myself. The post purchase process has been good but I was a bit let down after I inquired about horrible weed growth in the grass, I was told during my closing walk thru that the lawn was treated for weeds and they will not be a problem, but after 1 month of purchase, the weeds are everywhere, when I called to ask for assistance in getting it treated properly like I was promised, they said it was my problem. Moving from CA to AZ was not an easy decision, very Nice Sales person Janna made little bit easier, got a beautiful house in Nice location. everything was smooth, little bit of missing quality issues like water leak, but they fixed it very fast in few mins after calling.. warranty person Melissa also very nice and quick response. Overall we are very happy with house Richmond American built. may be just one request, allow one or two customer request also along with their pre selected designer items, please also consider design phase functional aspect example not having single drawer under bath sink. Chris was only Richmond employee who we could count on and he even gave us faulty warranty information Richmond pushed for closing in two weeks and didn’t have the house issuesready at closing until three weeks after, causing numerous 5 hr one way drives for us to let workers in to fix things we were told would be fixed before closing.
