I am a realtor and have worked with many new builds for my clients. Some I have had issues and others I have not. With buying my own home from Richmond, I was happy to see how easy the process was and how great it was working with the lenders and sales agents. I also appreciate the quality of work that was taken in to building my home. I also loved the incentives being offered at the time of purchase. It definitely made it more affordable in the current market.

Everyone we worked with was up front and honest throughout the process. Everything happened quickly yet we did not feel rushed. Our new home is amazing, no issues and everything that was supposed to happen after we moved in happened when we were told it was going to happen.

Any way, it seemed that he tried to tell the house as kindly as possible. But there are some defects like torn screen, stuck door, grasses, and what is surprising me is no plumbing on the deck roof. Rainwater was flowing like waterfall to the point of damaging grasses. Please see the site.

Purchase process and delivery of home was terrific. The purchase value is terrific because we got a terrific price and interest rate compared to the market. The quality and craftsmanship is average but all builders homes, even custom homes, are that way since they do not use top quality materials and labor. We are still very happy with our purchase!

Although unable to select features & finishes, we were able to move in rather quickly and had financing options available. Also, we were provided with home insurance options. The financing and insurance recommendations came in handy as we were moving from out of state and were unfamiliar with local providers. The on-site project manager, Edgar, is very knowledgeable and responsive.

From start to finish, our first homebuying experience was fantastic. Our sales associate Janna was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us find the right home for our needs. She patiently answered all of our questions and made us feel confident every step of the way. When we outlined specific must haves in our home including a large center sliding door into the backyard and tile flooring with a specific color scheme Janna found the perfect lot that matched. The quality of workmanship in our new home was solid and we felt that Richmond American stood by their product and our community superintendent Travis kept the tradesmen honest. From the flooring to the finishes, the home reflected a high standard of craftsmanship. It’s clear that this builder takes pride in delivering homes that meet modern day expectations and include features that are unique and timeless. One of the things we appreciated most was the transparency throughout the process. We opted to use the builder's in house mortgage company, HomeAmerican Mortgage, and our Loan Officer Lisa kept us informed about timelines, costs, and next steps. Our Loan Processor Judy was quick to answer our questions and helped to ensure that the process went as efficiently as possible keeping everything on track for a timely closing. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! BUILDING TEAM AND MANAGEMENT DEREK, TOM, KEN, CHAD AND RICH AS WELL AS THE SALES TEAM KELLY WORST EXPERIENCE

So far, overall, we like the home and the neighborhood. There were incidences for us that could have definitely been better. There are 2 problems we had purchasing this home. One being that before we moved in, we did our our first walk thru to blue tape any last-minute imperfections that could be addressed and very little of it was actually addressed and Jesse kept trying to divert my attention and make excuses as to why those things were'nt done. Im also pretty sure that he took all of the blue tapes off before I got to the Final Walk thru for those areas so i wouldnt notice. I believe that the issue really lies in being overloaded with houses to inspect when it really shouldnt be rushed. There are the other checkups for the first year, and we understood that, but these things we requested were more than fair for the final walk thru before we moved in. The Second was the Insurance side. The agent i was forced to go with was awful, didnt even qoute me for the right house 5 times and was just sluggish. I think it would be fair to let people choose who to use for their insurance needs, especially if they have a relationship already built with their own agent. ... More

Good service and friendly

We love the house we purchased and everything about it seems to be built extremely well. 30 days in, the afters sales support is extremely through and helpful as well. But that leaves the mortgage side. They have special breaks for you if you use their mortgage company, which we chose to do. I have extremely excellent credit and easily qualify for the house, but the mortgage company treated me like complete trash. The mortgage loan officer was absolutely horrendous and this was by far the worst purchase experience I've ever had. They wanted to rush the process for me, which is perfectly fine, but then then would be painfully slow on their end. They would say if I provide something, then we would be good. I would provide it and then 2 days later they would tell me that it was rejected and now the offer is worse. This went on for 3 weeks. Each time, the offer worse and worse. Eventually, they said that I could purchase the house as long as I don't live in it. What's the point of that? I got them to correct it, but then they still had that in the agreement in closing and didn't tell the signing agent, so I had to call and get that form thrown out. In the end, I ended up over $50,000 worse off than the offer at the beginning. They turned my very nice, bubbly wife into an extremely angry person. That's almost impossible to do. Then, to top it all off, the allow my contracted buyer's agent to renegotiate the deal with them, collecting 33% more commission than we had in writing. They also said that the builder would hardball us on price and there wasn't room for negotiation on the house. This breach is not something that I take lightly and will continue to pursue. They cost me more money than agreed to line a firms pocket that unlocked 9 doors for us in 2 afternoons. We then complained about the mortgage process to the agent, and he said, I'll investigate. Still waiting for an answer. If I would have know all of this, I never would purchase a home with them. I would be living at a different address. I would never recommend anyone purchase a home from them. Their homes are extremely nice, but I would leave them as a ghost town, filled with empty houses collecting dust and rotting back into the Earth. Stuff breaks and I get it but when you’re told this has happened repeatedly as you’re watching your brand new home being filled with water it’s devastating. But the true anger started after that with a horrible response that I’ve had from Richmond since the flood.

I had a deeply disappointing experience working with Richmond American Homes and their mortgage services(Home American Mortgage). As a first time homebuyer, I expected guidance and support throughout the process instead, I felt completely abandoned. Calls went unanswered, my questions were ignored, and I was left to navigate complex and stressful decisions entirely on my own. This was supposed to be an exciting milestone, but instead, it became a source of anxiety and frustration. I would not recommend Richmond American to anyone, especially first time buyers who need responsiveness and transparency. We had a very easy process in buying our new home. Crystal was great to work with!! Kept us informed throughout the entire process. We couldn't be happier with our new home and the whole experience.

I did not meet the builder. However the staff that showed us the home, collected our information and provided constant assistance was awesome. Whitney, Nicole and Steve (I think that's his name. He marked all the places where minor repairs were need before we occupied the residence.

We just moved in and noticed a couple of small issues we did not see during our walk through! As soon as I put my request in Richmond was on it!! Our community is still under construction and the Superintendent’s make sure that if their crews are being disruptive in any way, they put a stop to it! We love our home!!

Superintendent Kurtis knows what he's doing. They are all helpful.
