We recently purchased a new home and unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing. From the moment we moved in, we encountered multiple issues, from the carpet to the paint and even the appliances. The carpeting was poorly installed. The paint job throughout the house is subpar, doors and trim were painted carelessly, with drips and rough edges everywhere. The installed appliances were either low-quality or not properly tested before handover. We’ve already had multiple issues, including a malfunctioning dishwasher and a fridge with cooling problems. Everyone was so helpful, from the sales team to the loan officers. Always had time to answer all our questions. They always answered on time and helped us if anything was needed. The walk through of the home was easy and smooth. Home care specialist always responds he is very nice. He took care of submitting any minor problems we found in the home, that needed fixing.

Very courteous and professional team.

Richmond does a very good job of keeping you informed during the build and has been very responsive to questions after the move in. We highly recommend everyone take the time to look seriously at what Richmond offers in Buckeye.

Good workmanship and material.

We started looking at Richmond homes almost a year ago! We were a little nervous about buying our first home but working with our sales agent Carin - she really helped ease our fears. The process was seamless. From our many conversations, many times just stopping by the office and picking her brain to the walk through a to closing - it was an amazing experience! We can’t thank Carin and her team enough.

We had our own financing. You treated as if you were our lender. For this reason I would not recommend Richmond homes for anyone that does not want to finance through you.

Went to the model home about 8 months ago. Told the sales person that we wanted the same paint color inside and out to include the stone work like the model home. Elevation F. She said ok. When our home was built it was the complete opposite. Apparently, everything about our house had already been planned by the builder long before it was built. It seems the sales person told us this just to get a sale in my opinion. Since we were deep in the process of buying our home and it would be hard to get our Earnest money back; we begrudgingly decided to take it. The stone workmanship on the outside looks very poor and hurried. I told Chris the builder it looked like it was done by elementary kids. My friends who drove by said it looked "poor" at best. Chris said that is the way they do it now and nothing could be done about it. The only person I have meet who seems to have any moral integrity is Corey who works on the warranty. He's about the only one I trust. We have several issues that he is working to get corrected. Also, we thought that a couple weeks prior to having the house being finished; we would be called in to see if we wanted upgrades. That never happened. It is very apparent that the cheapest bathroom and sink fixtures were installed to save money. The reason we picked Richmond American is my wife thought they had a fine reputation. I personally don't and feel that way and I'm sure she has changed her opinion as well. After paying half-a-million dollars; sometimes I lies awake at night sorry I bought this place. Oh well, now that I have satisfied your request for my buying experience, you can file it in a black hole somewhere with others who are dissatisfied as well. One last thing; since ours is the only house that is finished and we see a lot of building going on around us; most of the sub-contractors don't even have a company logo on their vehicles. Our overall experience was great. The property agent,Stephanie, was amazing to work with. She was always there with answers whenever I had questions and willing to help anyway she could. And when we had issues with the house itself Rich was right there to make sure the issue was fixed and to make sure we were satisfied and happy. The whole process was great. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy.

My experience with the builder was with Sean, the superintendent. He was professional, attentive and responsive. His attention to quality and details was very much appreciated. Melissa represented Richmond as their real estate agent. She listened to my wants and needs and helped me find the perfect home for me. She was attentive and professional, Melissa kept us informed and worked very well with my agent to keep things moving forward and on schedule. Closed 12/31/24 with a list of items that were not completed and required additional work to be completed. Caught during home inspection or visual inspction before closing. Provided itemized list with pictures. Unfortunately, little to no response for these items to be completed.

Very happy to have been able to close earlier then expected.

Working with Richmond homes is a wonderful experience with you what options you have open for you, what you would want to actually get and how you achieve this dream of owning a new home of your choice. No confusions, no bs and no design your home drama. Simple choice make life easier and their offer to give those changes at affordable cost later on is another add on that you would want. Post handover support was great as well.

Great experience with Richmond Homes compared to our previous experience with another large builder. Ricardo and Rob were excellent with communicating, and Rob was great to work with and takes pride in his role and ensuring quality homes are built. The only aspect of the experience that wasn’t excellent is around some of the decision making at Richmond corporate (or whoever the decision makers are for designing model homes in the communities); in false advertisement within the models. I understand that all builders put items in the models that are not offered in homes, but this is a deceptive practice. If Richmond didn’t participate in this norm it would further elevate, differentiate, and build trust in Richmond from other builders. When trying to get a resolution around an item, we were met with an unfortunate response and attitude from Ava, and Daniel didn’t even return our calls to support. Fortunately, Ricardo, Rob, and Reon were great to ensure a positive experience- They are great at their roles and the reason we are satisfied with Richmond. ... More

The home-buying experience can be fraught with challenges, exciting and stressful. But because all Richmond Home American staffs was accommodating and approachable. All details were presented to me and my husband in a step-by-step process efficiently. Each step made it a memorable journey. My family and I, find it rewarding as they create a space that reflects our lifestyle and aspirations.. Ultimately, holding the keys to our new home made it all worth it.

Honestly the quality of the home mostly seems to be poor. The craftsmanship shows plenty of cut corners. We were lied about a free fence being installed in our backyard and then were quoted over $1000 by Richmond’s fence contractor. The air conditioner has yet to be installed 2 months after moving in and the installers of the HVAC system did a pathetic job. There are some nice features of the home but for the most part it’s clear this company is only after money and have no regard for the homeowner. Fortunately the superintendent of our community has always been helpful.

Your sales representative - Erika was very nice and helpful, if not because of her inputs, we would not have been purchasing this house.

Our experience with Richmond American was mixed. The trust level and interaction with a offsite sales representative was poor, but the follow up with the construction supervisor was excellent. The quality is what is to be expected with a starter type home.

For any new buyer, please make sure every conversation you have had to put it in writing, monitor and follow up. We were given the key of the house, that was not fully ready, filthy and missing items ( mirror, bathroom glass, window glass - FILTHY FLOORS). We had owned three houses, and this by far was the worst transition ever. PM on the community needs to learn how to communicate with owners on status of request.

We just purchased a house about a month ago, well, there were some issues and delays on documentation but all were justifiable. But so far we are loving the place. The house is beautiful kids love it.

Our home represents a very good value for the money. The builder and sales team were responsive and helpful. They were very low pressure in their sales tactics. Our interactions with the builder’s lender, Home American Mortgage, weren’t enjoyable. We got a great interest rate so it was worth the hassle though.

I purchased my home at the end of 2024. We were able to close 2 weeks after I first decided to purchase the home. It's my first home purchase and everything seems well built and cleverly designed. The sales and construction team were great to work with through the walk through and took care of all repairs I requested, including minor paint touch ups. I'm excited to be in my new home and everything has continued to run smoothly.
