Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been disappointing from the beginning. Upon purchasing our home, we discovered several issues that needed attention. Unfortunately, the response time to address these concerns was unacceptably slow, and commitments to fix them were often delayed or missed entirely. It took countless follow-up conversations to see any progress. Contractors claimed they attempted repairs but couldn’t access the home, despite no arrangements for entry being made. Have been very disappointed in the product I received for 700k. The workmanship is reminiscent of a lesser quality builder. Definitely will NOT purchase nor recommend a Richmond American home to anyone.

Bought a brand new home with Richmond Homes via our own realtor and mortgage broker. Whole process was smooth, minus our first original interested house being sold beneath us the day we said we will put in an offer. We lucked out though and got a better lot anyway. The disappointment lays within the craftsmanship. We had paint run off on the roofs, blue tape from BOTH inspections not taken care of until we pushed and pushed and pushed for a fix but the pre inspection lady just brushed it off and said “that’s just a smudge, it will wipe off”, when clearly it was not. Great sales staff but very sloppy work

Sales experience was pleasant but a lot of issues with the house such as carpet, caulking, stucco, paint and drywall all done very poorly all of which have not been resolved. Past the 30 days no one has reached out to fix any issues.

Warranty issues and fear that I made a mistake buying this home

I have been in my home for one month and have multiple issues. I had a major roof leak, which has been a fight and has not been complete. The soil surrounding the home is so bad and was not compacted that every estimate for landscaping has mentioned to complete the yard adequately, that I would need to put in about 15k worth of dirt before doing any landscaping. The recent rains have caused major movement in cement and my driveway is already heaving. The cement in my backyard cracks more and more every day. Susan the sales rep did a great job. Dylan did very good with walk through items. Steven the loan officer is an incredible professional. Ryan the processor was always responsive.

Underwriting process was very bad. Loan officer Steven and processor Ryan have done awesome job. Whoever the underwriter was on file was just a disaster. The Underwriting process was very frustrating, overwhelming and nerve wrecking. Please please pay revisit your underwriters because they can cost you business. I had a very strong file but it still gave me a headache.

I like my home, but I almost backed out over struggles with financing. The portal would allow multiple page uploads on pages that didn't need them, but would not allow on pages that needed them. I had to supply the same paperwork several times...4 times on one issue. I was living in a motel and didn't have access to a desktop or laptop. I would receive alerts that I would need to supply something "immediately" that I had already supplied or my financing was going to be delayed and I would loose my buyer's incentives. The beginning was rough. But Jeremy ( RH )and Steve (loan officer)Jennifer (loan processor)step in where my own realtor fell out. The team that does the walk though was amazing!! As a real estate agent I’ve had many interactions with RAH. As a buyer I was disappointed RAH has stopped allowing buyers to select their upgrades and designs. This made our purchase a bit hard and honestly more expensive on the back end in order for us to get what we wanted. Do better Richmond. For the people giving you business. It caused a delay of a few months and we had to spend several thousand on an apartment. They wouldn't sell us the lot we wanted because our down payment was contingent on selling our house. After weeks of negotiating with the realtor for Richmond American homes we were finally ready to commit. On Thursday we had been in touch all day and I finally sent a text saying we were ready to go to contract. The realtor should have called me at that time and secured my earnest deposit He didn’t respond until the next morning by which time the price of the house had been raised 5k and no amount of proof that he was in the wrong made a bit of difference.
