Great experience, first time buying a brand new house

During the homebuying process, I was lied to about many different things and almost walked away from the company due to trust issues. Do not believe the sellers when they tell you anything. Get it in writing, although they will go back on that as well. They are only telling you things to get you to buy the product. The mortgage company that partners with Richmond American is manipulative and will not work with you until you threaten to leave them and get a mortgage elsewhere. Recommend refinancing as soon as possible if you did go through them. The overall quality of the house is adequate. Many details are missed throughout the home. Although there was plenty of time to finish the house, the finishing touches were rushed and repainting led to a lot of paint on the floor throughout the house. The carpet has many different items underneath it and is not smooth. It will need to be replaced as soon as we can afford it. There are many things about the house that I wish I could have done something before such as the discolored wood in the back fence since it has been there for so long, the sod used is not good, and the longer cabinet shelves do not have a middle of the shelf support. There were good things about the home and buying process, but if we weren't so attached to the area and the floor plan, we would have gone elsewhere for sure. We were pushed to close yet the house wasn’t completely ready. We have a long list of items on the final walk-through that are still pending repair. Quality of grout and tile work is terrible. Trying to coordinate getting these repairs completed has been more than frustrating. Have left here about a month and already have a hole in the side of the house that has appeared along with a giant crack down our garage wall just to name a few. Richmond blows a lot of smoke about repairs. Good luck! I was warned and I didn’t listen.

Concern Regarding Wall Issue in My New Richmond Home I specifically chose to purchase another Richmond home because of the exceptional experience I had with your team when I bought my first Richmond property. While the new home is stunning, I have significant concerns about the quality of construction in one area. The wall above the fireplace is visibly uneven, something that was not immediately noticeable during the walkthrough but became apparent on the first day we hung a television. Being informed that this issue is not covered under warranty—just two days after closing—is both surprising and disappointing. I have always associated Richmond with superior quality and service, which is why this experience feels especially disheartening. Home buying experience was very quick and easy for the most part. Quickly of home seems like a quick done job with cheap materials. Not attention to detail.

We have a bad experience with warranty take a long time to fixed and toilets very small and quality very low that sad

The house was purchased under the assumption that it is new and will be covered under warranty if something is not right. That was a big mistake. The house was not ready on the date of closing with plenty of outstanding defects identified during pre-closing walk-through. The builder was not willing to fix them all before closing and forced us into closing or lose the deposit. The construction crew were working on the house even on the revised closing date. Then the repairs just stopped after closing and we have to chase down the superintendent constantly to work on the promised repairs. A lot of defects were still not fixed and now we deal with warranty team and it tried to exclude many defects that have been identified. I had a great experience with their Agent, Megan, on purchasing a new home from Richmond. She was very professional, resourceful and transparent throughout the entire buying process. The home is beautiful and reasonably priced for all the upgrades in the final price tag. When comparing all the Builders & amenities in the neighborhood, Richmond Homes definitely stuck out to be the better option, by far. No disappointments!

Purchasing was fine. The readiness for walk-through was an issue twice. The first time I verified on Friday that the house would be ready Monday. I was traveling from 10 hours away to get there. When I arrived they were framing the driveway to be poured and there was still work to be done inside. The second time it was still not totally done and we discovered that where there was supposed to be an 8 ft french door per the JIO, there was a 5 ft empty opening. I closed anyway thinking it would be handled quickly. I have been out once since then and it wasn't done yet. At that time I also discovered with the help of Richmond staff that there was no modem in the utility closet to set up internet. I plan to be there the week of Thanksgiving for most of the move-in and I have no idea if it's been resolved yet. ... More

He was evasive, loud mouthed, disrespectful to me on multiple occasions. I do not want him on my property. I note Paul has a visual deficit, he 'cannot see ' the simple and obvious items that need repair and attention. Sales by Jill was fabulous. Very kind , knowledgeable and professional, attentive to all my new home questions. Paul is a down size to Richmond homes. He is not welcome on my property after his aggressive behavior. The home is wonderful. We had a great experience purchasing the home. The only thing we have had trouble with is responsiveness to issues, but it is in the process of getting fixed.

Once we closed, the sales person was non responsive. We have questions and have sent emails, with no response. The drawers are very shallow and don't hold any of size
