Cheap and shoddy workmanship

Where do I start? On my escrow closing day, I got 4 remote controls for 2 garages. 2 worked and the other 2 did not work. I immediately notified the sales office, who assured me someone would be by to rectify that issue. Over a month later, still have not seen anyone at my door to rectify the issue. This needs to be remedied. During the final walk through I noticed 30-40 scuff marks on the primary bath shower floor. Gustavo assured me it was part of the pattern. I have the design book, there are no black marks in the primary shower tile. This needs to be remedied. Why put a tankless ...

The construction supervisor did not handle the issues appropriately or in a timely manner. Full of excuses and knows the issues but showed little care to resolve appropriately.

The craftsmanship for my home was not up to par. So many cosmetic issues so far and little things that should not fly by an assistant super intendant. They are going to work on fixing the issues but that is now time I have to spend being around for the lack of work that should have been done the first time or after the first walk. Rather sad to see this kind of work get breezed over just because the houses are going up so fast.

Builder is horrible

From the beginning to the end of the process of the build I wasn’t too happy on the quality of the house. The builder don’t see it as a big investment and brushed away your concerns. Everything on the house you expect to look new and flawless but it’s not. There’s some nail hanging out in front of exterior trimming. There’re some area that needed to caulk were missed. The location of drainage was too close to garage driveway every time I pull in always gotta worry about running it over. The appliance has some dents to it and they still installed it thinking we wouldn’t care. The list goes ...

Other than Lauren, The experience was extremely underwhelming. The quality of workmanship was disappointing at best and it became very clear that our Superintendents did not have their finger on the pulse with trades. During our final walk, it was explained to me by Sergio that i "cant expect perfection". That bold statement has been my Richmond American experience in a nutshell.

I have been trying to get items from my original punch list repaired with very little luck, on top of that I have several other items that I found (like breakers tripping for no reason, lots of drywall issues, flooring issues, broken tile, doors squeaking and hinge pins coming out etc.) that are also needing repaired. The major issue I have is repairs are scheduled but non of the contractors show or show up on a different day not scheduled, I'm beyond frustrated with it all. On the day of my walkthrough, the electrical was not working in the kitchen, no hot water, the back fence was crushed by a tractor, screens missing and torn and so forth. The person conducting the walkthrough for Richmond had no idea of the condition of the house because Richmond did not complete a pre inspection. All this means that Richmond rushes to get you to the closing table, hoping to push you into a long post closing list. Any buyer should be aware that it is highly unlikely that anyone from Richmond will come back to complete the "post-closing" punch list. I've not seen anyone, ...

The sales, lending and escrow staff were outstanding—it ends there with the positive experience. The house still does not have all the numerous dents fixed in the bullnose corners all over the house and paint was poorly applied—we still have spots that need painting near ceilings that have white paint brush strokes over the grey walls. There are holes in drywall that were not repaired, holes in exterior stucco were not repaired. There are paint and scuff marks on many of the door hinges, chips/gouges on interior doors. There are bare wood spots on the exterior door leading to/from master ...

I’ve been told multiple things that we have been ghosted on from paint samples to another layer of brick for my back wall. Everything is fine until the day you move in, then we are left to hang dry after. My gas line won’t even allow me to put a walkway it is sticking so far out. I’ll be leaving more reviews anywhere I can about this. 450k for mediocre quality with lazy superintendents.

Home was not ready to close, first walk was done without power, but corporate refused to move the closing date. Almost a month in the home and still asking for things to be fixed that were promised to be done since closing wouldn't be moved. Word to the wise, simply refuse to close if they don't fix things. Love the floorplan and location, wish the builder kept their word.

I would think twice before purchasing a home by Richmond. The quality is poor and they don't care about workmanship. If you find an issue after your walk through and closing they won't fix it. Make sure you document everything. Still waiting for a response to an issue the superintendent said he would take care of. It's been a month and half wirh NO response from him. Home buyer be aware!

The sales and escrow team were great, but the construction team not so much. I closed escrow a little over a month ago and have yet to get a response or warranty issue taken care of. The quality of work on the kitchen cabinets, the garage walls, and paint throughout the house is very poor. I’m still waiting on someone to acknowledge or resolve the concerns.

The home is over priced for the cheap materials used in building the structure. The workmanship is dismal. Multiple feature in the house need to be fixed from replacing windows, sliding glass door, driveway pavers, cabinet drawers and doors and quart’s shower wall. All of these items need to be fixed and have yet to be fixed. The Richmond American home specialist was notified of the issues and still has not reached out to set a time for repairs. We have been living in our home for three months now with no word. I would not buy a home from Richmond American again. I will never recommend them ...

It's a very low-quality build. I would have rated Builder 0/10 if I could. After moving in, we found so many errors. The builder did not caulk many gaps between trims (cabinet crown mold, bedrooms top and bottom trims, bathrooms, all over the house); too many to list. Most door knobs were loose. Trims were cut unevenly. Messy paint job. Thinking buying a new one is wonderful, but this for us is a nightmare. Please build with a heart *Richmond American Homes Builder.

While everyone was “nice”, we had an overall horrible experience. From 3 different superintendents to a scam of an experience with Home American mortgage to endless lies and deception to over a month delay to then move in with electrical not working, 20 roof tiles broken, horrible craftsmanship to then no one caring and it taking weeks upon weeks to get responses until we went to corporate to now 2 months after we closed and still an outstanding list of 30+ issues with no resolution. Would avoid Richmond at all costs.

The sales lady did fine and would always be helpful and made things easier. The first superintendent was terrible. Then you guys moved him to a different track which was a great idea. The guy who replaced him was much, much, much better (Mike). The tail end superintendent (Chris) was an absolute disaster. Everything was a hassle and all he would do would say he would get it done… but yet nothing would get done. The house starting out from concrete was already messed up. The framing was very shotty and showed poor skills to say the least. The finished concrete is awful. The trim is terrible. ...
