After moving into the home I realized that all the appliances are very poor quality. My dishwasher was not working.. I had to call several times to get it fixed. not sure how it passed inspection. It is now fixed. The master bathroom doors are backwards. I have to get wet with cold water to turn the water on. Not a good experience. I expressed concern about this and I was told that it is correct. How is this possible? Who has to get wet with cold water every time you take a bath. Not happy about this… Landscaping issues on the back of the house it floods really bad. House gutters not installed correctly causing the back yard to flood. When I expressed concern with the flooding, I was told to contact my home insurance company if water gets in the house. I just moved to this home 30 days ago. I would think the landscaping issues would be fixed by the builder… I request my home light fixtures to be changed to black as it is in most homes in this neighborhood and I was told No. Not great experience so far beautiful neighborhood but home quality not the best it could be. ... Richmond had too many houses they closed on in the same week so mine got half done. Paint, drywall, doors, trim, stucco, list goes on forever needs final touchups that were never done before closing. Really expect a better quality for a brand new house at this price. Supervisors have been less than helpful getting things fixed and now I have had to take off countless days from work and essentially not been able to move in fully for two months now wait on repairs including full paint in all rooms and no one at Richmond cares about the inconveniences it has caused me because they got their money. ... The title says it all. From the initial contact with Colin, the home builders representative, to choosing a floor plan that met our needs, through closing, and move in. The entire process went smoothly and quickly without ever feeling pushed or rushed. I would definitely recommend Richmond American Homes to anyone looking to buy a new home.

Great Experience easy to work with we love our home

Not a good experience.

There were a lot of little things that needed addressed from our home inspection and walkthrough. The superintendent was super attentive to the issues that we experienced. The most concerning was the potential for shingle damage by wind. It was supposedly addressed but after Milton it looks like the area that they fixed had damage. Riding around the whole community, we saw no other homes with shingle damage so we are concerned of the quality of the roofers fixes that the home inspection brought out.

We agreed to purchase this home while still under construction when a major leak under the slab was discovered. At that point along with other issues like the grading of the property where water collects around the foundation I no longer wanted to continue with the purchase because of potential problems in the future. In the agreement once they have your money they are not obligated to give it back to you even if the problem is on their end because they are supposed to fix it but the repairs done to my house were band-aid repairs that they won’t accept for themselves. Most of the blue tape repairs to be done was never complete and the tape was just removed but we had pictures before and after. I would recommend new buyers to do some type of inspection before agreeing to any contracts. I will end my rant here by saying I will not be buying another home with Richmond American in the future. ... More

My home was move-in ready when I started the process and I absolutely love it. The community is friendly and lively. Our house was beautifully built and the team has been very responsive to my issues and concerns!

Our experience with Richmond home was outstanding. Customer service was on point took care of all our needs they took us through the whole process step-by-step, and are still in communication with us after our purchase helping us with whatever we need. Overall, our family is happy with everything.

Great people. Make our transition easy and less stressful. They guide and help us make everything memorable.

While we love our home and the build quality is beautiful, our overall experience with Richmond American Homes was disappointing. From the start, there was a significant lack of communication, which made the process frustrating and stressful. We often had to follow up multiple times to get basic information, and even then, responses were delayed or unclear. Additionally, I didn’t feel welcomed or valued as a customer. Buying a home is a significant life decision, and it was disheartening to feel like just another number to them. The home is okay. There could have been a lot more smarts used when planning the backyards. Why are the homes backyards sloped?? Well because they didn’t want to make the effort to actually level out the backyards & make the homeowners pay extra to have retaining walls built. The builder definitely cut corners on materials and craftsmanship when making these homes.

Unfortunately for us our experience with Richmond Homes has been bad from the beginning. From the lending process to moving in and finding over 40 to do items in our home that still 30+ days after move in are still not being addressed. Everyone has dropped the ball and seems not to care at all. I would not recommend this builder because they do not care about the workmanship of their homes.

I’ve lived here 6 weeks: The garage door remotes do not work to open the doors, I tripped a breaker using the garbage disposal. The AC does not cool my room. Plants and trees are dying in front yard that was on drip system, I have not received the screen door for my bedrooms slider glass door( it’s very stuffy in my room without AC and no screen on the door. The refrigerator I replaced, and the dishwasher due to inability to work properly. I am begging for help since I live by myself. I can’t afford all the out of pocket costs for things the builder supplied that did not work. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, transparency and quality of work throughout pre/post home buying. Still waiting for several issues to get fixed that funny enough were identified by the super intendent. They are taking there sweet time and there is no sense of urgency. I understand many homes has several issues and I'm not the only one but that's where communication comes into place. Definitely feel like if I don't frequently stay in touch nothing will be done. Going on 2 months now trying to fix things prior to close. May need to file some ROC complaints.

Whole team did a great job. Builder, lender, warranty person and agent. Would recommend them to everyone.

the experience was not stressful very pleasant

As a real estate agent I’ve had many interactions with RAH. As a buyer I was disappointed RAH has stopped allowing buyers to select their upgrades and designs. This made our purchase a bit hard and honestly more expensive on the back end in order for us to get what we wanted. Do better Richmond. For the people giving you business. Your design teams don’t know it all and at times make errors and bad decisions ( like not putting windows on a wall with a MOUNTAIN VIEW). It’s not that important to build homes as fast as you can. People are willing to wait for what they want. On the more personal side, Anne and Mike were amazing and made our experience pleasant and low stress. ... More

THE BAD. Our house was filthy after closing. Workers used our bathrooms, broking promises by builder in regard to our driveway. Paint spots on carpet in every room. The tile floor had paint specks and excess grout and some type of adhesive spots. Bathroom counter top had silicone smudges all over them. THE GOOD, The neighborhood and residents are great. The house house has a good layout. The sales team and superintendent seem to care

Get everything in writing up front. Can't trust anybodys word.

My case went from first lot flooded and they did not tell me anything at all when I noticed i had to request a lot change they have very bad communication for the closing the house has a lot of details to be fixed thru warranty request and still yet had not contact me after the superintendent told me he would take care of it he later backup and ask for a warranty request lack of compromise just wont recommend them at all really let them be your last option

The quality of my new richmond america home is very disappointing. There were many, many issues during my initial walk thru before closing. Some major as the oven would not work without tripping the breaker. Since I would not sign off`on the home as is, the scheduled a final walk through 7 days later and said all issues would be taken care of. On my final walk through, only have of the items were fixed. I signed off only because I already gave my notice to move out but in reality I was wishing I wasn't in contract on this home. Since move in, there have been various issues found. Every time I wash clothes it trips the breaker, my flooring guy said all of the stairs were different sizes, there were many dings and dents in the walls, the cabinet wood tones were 2 different colors, a hump in the wall, etc etc. The quality of these homes is very poor. Have been very disappointed in the product I received for 700k. The workmanship is reminiscent of a lesser quality builder. Definitely will NOT purchase nor recommend a Richmond American home to anyone.
