Home is fine but since I’ve moved in I feel my warranty service request has been totally ignored. Dishwasher did not work at time of walkthrough and it was noted; but has not been repaired

OK expierence

We had an ok buying experience. Our sales agent was great and super responsive. The main issue we had was with the loan processor Alyssa. She was horrible. Asking for things multiple times, asking for things then letting them expire, asking for uncessary items. She seemed very new and that she had no experience with VA loan requirements. Even after closing we were asked to send back the closing check because they dispersed the wrong amount and had us sign more papers because they were missed. 10/10 would NOT recommend using Richmond American Financing.

Great value, Wendy and Braxton were great. The paint/drywall/trim contractors did a poor job.

Excellent Sales Support, But Post-Closing Service Fell Short

The sales experience was truly excellent. Michael was incredibly patient, thorough, and thoughtful as we navigated our home-buying decisions. We toured several homes and multiple communities, and throughout the entire process he remained attentive, responsive, and highly professional. Michael took the time to understand what we were looking for and ensured that we felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. Richmond American is fortunate to have him on their team—he truly sets the standard for what a great sales experience should look like. Unfortunately, our experience after ...

Quality of work is very sloppy, never had so many issues with a new home. Customer service/interaction was great. I had expected some one to go over the work and fix the problems before buyer took possession of their new home.

Salesperson and Superintendent are great. Their process was not enjoyable whatsoever. I almost pulled out of the deal due to their financial/underwriting department. Really check your home on the walkthrough. Walls are paper thin. You can hear the other people in the next room and the washer/dryer are EXTREMELY loud. You can not wash without it sounding like one’s in the room with you even when door is closed.

Richmond American Homes responded:
Hi, Gerardo. Thank you for your feedback. We'll make sure to pass this along to our team.

The home buying process went well for us. We did our walk through and highlighted things that needed to be fixed. They could not fix them all prior to closing so we had roll over items. It is now 3 months later and said roll over items are still not fixed even with our efforts to reach out on multiple occasions. No response ever regarding these issues.

The only 2 shining stars in this process have been our sales rep Frank and the construction foreman assistant Raul. Frank really went above and beyond for us, was always very responsive and genuinely kind. Raul had sympathy for our issues and was very responsive and pleasant. The quality of the workmanship is completely unacceptable especially considering the price we paid for this home. It's glaringly obvious that the construction was rushed and corners were definitely cut. This transfers the frustration and responsibility directly to the owner to constantly have to put in warranty ...

Recently purchased my home in October with initially looking at the model in May, 2025. I was excited about the style home, as there was nothing like it in the DMV area. We were not provided consistent communication during the entire process. We were always told our house would be ready at the end of October and then told two months before that our house would be ready a month early. We based the initial timeline on what was being told of to us multiple times. It caused a lot of headaches and then having to pay nearly 2 weeks of penalties having to push back our closing. I would definitely ...

What should be a very nice home is actually somewhat of a nightmare. The home looked great initially, but after moving in and taking a closer look, I found so many problems, I hardly know where to begin: horrible stucco finish work, many ungrounded light fixtures, scratched appliances, front door not hung plumb, damaged grout, no screen door handle, no product shelf in the primary shower, I could go on and on.

I would have liked to have a person at the home realtor office helping out with qualifying for loans, signing and assisting on important papers. None of that was done, it was assumed that all people have computers, tablets, or phones. Everything was rushed and signed papers need to be signed at the last minute, late in the evening. When everything was done the gentlemen and the lady who presented the house, showed how everything worked and how to take of it and if anything need to be corrected give them a call. I thought that was good.

We very much like our home now that we are moved in however: we were give major misinformation and promised things in the sales process that couldn't be delivered in the actual agreement; preclosing fixes still have not been completed even though we have now been in the house 30 days, many excuses are quickly given when issues arise but action is slow.

Superintendent needs to inspect each phase of construction. Not wait for homeowners to have issue or call out as warranty. Nice home design although would think when spending this kind of money that finishes and workmanship would be complete. Have to take lots of time off work for warranty issues. Consider cost of time off to be available for appointments to correct issues that the superintendent could have completed during build. I do like the home but upset with the stress it has caused do to being tm treated as buying the home is a favor

My new home buying experience began with excitement. Things began to go wrong and the responses were addressed slowly or not at all: frame to garage door, electrical issues, closet bar holding clothes loosening and the insulation between the foundation of the house and the walls not completely sealed when the doggie door was installed. I’m currently awaiting for the compressor on the air conditioner to be replaced, the unit is completely out of service, which was really loud to begin with, but it was working.

I would like other home buyers to know never to buy a Richmond American Home. If you are thinking of buying in the Pendleton community, don't! The project manager has every excuse for the poor work. Also, don't trust that they will come back in 30 days. Several of our neighbors never got a 30 day follow up.

So it wouldn't post my first review probably because it was truthful but not favorable. I'll make this one short as it probably won't get posted either. 1, Do not believe anything from the assistant supervisor as it won't happen. If it comes from the actual supervisor you have a chance. 2, Don't let them blow off anything for the next deadline because that will never end. The first walk discoveries pushed till the final walk pushed to the 30 day and then pushed again and again. Two + months later and things that should have be handled before closing are still pending. All things could have ...

Any way, it seemed that he tried to tell the house as kindly as possible. But there are some defects like torn screen, stuck door, grasses, and what is surprising me is no plumbing on the deck roof. Rainwater was flowing like waterfall to the point of damaging grasses. Please see the site.

So far, overall, we like the home and the neighborhood. There were incidences for us that could have definitely been better. There are 2 problems we had purchasing this home. One being that before we moved in, we did our our first walk thru to blue tape any last-minute imperfections that could be addressed and very little of it was actually addressed and Jesse kept trying to divert my attention and make excuses as to why those things were'nt done. Im also pretty sure that he took all of the blue tapes off before I got to the Final Walk thru for those areas so i wouldnt notice. I believe ...

Initial buying experience with the sales team and mortgage team were great. Since moving in it has gone downhill. Slow response or no response from our original Warranty person. Better response from second warranty person but little to no response from any of the trades who should be coming to fix any issues. It’s disappointing to spend this much money to be treated as if we don’t matter once the sale is closed. Overall we are happy with the house but are very disappointed in some of the quality and lack of timely service regarding issues beyond closing.

Before we moved in to the spec home, everybody wwas so responsive, so responsive. After that event especially when it comes to fixing things, even major things is absolutely negligent. You can't get a person on the phone or if they finally come out, they don't have the time to spend to look at and take into account. Leaking garage under door, inches space on roofing, uncentered doors, etc. So first, the workmanship. There are goods and bads. Labor quality is divided. Some do really bad job, some do excellent.
