The first initial steps of home buying was smooth. The loan officer and sales reps were helpful throughout the way. not until i moved into the home issues starting popping up and when noticed and reported to warranty it took time to be resolved. The warranty supervisor did what was needed but the contractors have been irresponsible. 1. Shower towel bar missing 2. shower drain plate loose 3. Kitchen cabinet drawer falling off the track 4. Bathroom cabinet door falls off the hinge 5. Door bell gets stuck at the end with a buzzing sound 6. Backyard sliding door falls off the track 7. Bathroom ...

The sales, lending and escrow staff were outstanding—it ends there with the positive experience. The house still does not have all the numerous dents fixed in the bullnose corners all over the house and paint was poorly applied—we still have spots that need painting near ceilings that have white paint brush strokes over the grey walls. There are holes in drywall that were not repaired, holes in exterior stucco were not repaired. There are paint and scuff marks on many of the door hinges, chips/gouges on interior doors. There are bare wood spots on the exterior door leading to/from master ...

I feel like I was misled when some of the things that I called out during my walk-through were promised to be fixed before I close after receiving my keys as well as living in the home for 75 days some of the issues that I called out during the walk-through are still issues. And after moving in and asking for items to be fixed, promise that they would come out the next couple days nobody ever showed up still currently working on getting these issues resolved as well as building supplies a lot of scrap material left in the garage which I had to take to the dump and pay to dispose myself From ...

I’ve been told multiple things that we have been ghosted on from paint samples to another layer of brick for my back wall. Everything is fine until the day you move in, then we are left to hang dry after. My gas line won’t even allow me to put a walkway it is sticking so far out. I’ll be leaving more reviews anywhere I can about this. 450k for mediocre quality with lazy superintendents.

Home was not ready to close, first walk was done without power, but corporate refused to move the closing date. Almost a month in the home and still asking for things to be fixed that were promised to be done since closing wouldn't be moved. Word to the wise, simply refuse to close if they don't fix things. Love the floorplan and location, wish the builder kept their word.

I would think twice before purchasing a home by Richmond. The quality is poor and they don't care about workmanship. If you find an issue after your walk through and closing they won't fix it. Make sure you document everything. Still waiting for a response to an issue the superintendent said he would take care of. It's been a month and half wirh NO response from him. Home buyer be aware!

The sales and escrow team were great, but the construction team not so much. I closed escrow a little over a month ago and have yet to get a response or warranty issue taken care of. The quality of work on the kitchen cabinets, the garage walls, and paint throughout the house is very poor. I’m still waiting on someone to acknowledge or resolve the concerns.

Richmond American Homes responded:
Hi, Christine. I reached out to our local team for an update. It's my understanding they're actively working to schedule a time for your remaining items, so hopefully we'll have things wrapped up once we can align with your availability. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

1. Poor Workmanship From day one, the home showed signs of subpar construction—sloppy finishes, sloppy installations, and corners that clearly prioritized speed over quality. 2. AC Broke Within Three Months Our central air conditioning failed just three months after move-in. With 109 deg temp inside home, we had to stay I hotel before it was fixed. 3. Front door lock broke in two months. It was replaced after a month. 4. Cockroaches Emerging from the Sewer Then came the worst: cockroaches crawling up through the drains. This often means there’s a plumbing issue—like cracks ...

The home is over priced for the cheap materials used in building the structure. The workmanship is dismal. Multiple feature in the house need to be fixed from replacing windows, sliding glass door, driveway pavers, cabinet drawers and doors and quart’s shower wall. All of these items need to be fixed and have yet to be fixed. The Richmond American home specialist was notified of the issues and still has not reached out to set a time for repairs. We have been living in our home for three months now with no word. I would not buy a home from Richmond American again. I will never recommend them ...

Low quality build

It's a very low-quality build. I would have rated Builder 0/10 if I could. After moving in, we found so many errors. The builder did not caulk many gaps between trims (cabinet crown mold, bedrooms top and bottom trims, bathrooms, all over the house); too many to list. Most door knobs were loose. Trims were cut unevenly. Messy paint job. Thinking buying a new one is wonderful, but this for us is a nightmare. Please build with a heart *Richmond American Homes Builder.

While everyone was “nice”, we had an overall horrible experience. From 3 different superintendents to a scam of an experience with Home American mortgage to endless lies and deception to over a month delay to then move in with electrical not working, 20 roof tiles broken, horrible craftsmanship to then no one caring and it taking weeks upon weeks to get responses until we went to corporate to now 2 months after we closed and still an outstanding list of 30+ issues with no resolution. Would avoid Richmond at all costs.

The sales lady did fine and would always be helpful and made things easier. The first superintendent was terrible. Then you guys moved him to a different track which was a great idea. The guy who replaced him was much, much, much better (Mike). The tail end superintendent (Chris) was an absolute disaster. Everything was a hassle and all he would do would say he would get it done… but yet nothing would get done. The house starting out from concrete was already messed up. The framing was very shotty and showed poor skills to say the least. The finished concrete is awful. The trim is terrible. ...

Jason was awesome. He worked with us & our agent throughout the process. He found answers if he didn’t have an immediate answer. We love the floor plan. The follow up after the walk through has been very positive. They have been responsive to our questions. Unfortunately the financing and title experience was deplorable. I would never use their lender or title on my own. That was the only way to get a favorable interest rate. We were very pleased with the insurance quotes and their responsiveness.

Lots of issues that needed to be addressed during the initial walk through. Poor quality craftsmanship with little detail to the finishing touches for a house that cost so much money. They scheduled a final walk through and lied to us saying that the majority of our initial issues had been addressed. Only for us to realize they had not addressed even half the issues. When we asked for another final walk through, as not much had changed from the initial walk through, they said no. Additionally, closing was rushed so they could meet their quota. Our original sales person, Jeff, was not transparent by failing to disclose important information regarding homeowner's insurance. He is no longer with Richmond American, and since then, Brigitte has been spot on. We also had an issue with our Assistant Superintendent, Kevin, who did not complete items prior to closing that he had agreed would be finished. He even removed the blue tape from places that hadn't been touched! The actual Superintendent, Rex, has been incredible, trying to resolve the issues that Kevin didn't rectify.
