I loved the design of the house. However there was lot of things were not done before closing. They gave us bad walls, some walls they didn’t even finish painting, broken tiles with holes in the grout, bathroom tub has a big hole, light fixture broken, floodligh missing, roof was leaking when it start raining, the faucets are not properly sealed so the water drips down to the cabinet. Toilet paper dispenser they drilled a big nail. Big list. I bought the house I because I love the design. I know you guys take care of your customer, the supervisor David who build the house did a horrible job. ...

NOT GOOD!

Our Richmond Home experience was not good. We will not build with Richmond homes again, and would not recommend it to family and friends. If fact we would ask them to steer clear! We felt significant pressure to close the house at the end of the month, only to find out the following month had better incentives & that others got $20-30K more in incentives. We paid a lot premium $20K to have a mountain view. Was told there were tennis courts going in behind us. When we moved in the houses they started building houses behind us and our view is almost all lost. This was one of the main reasons we ...

It started with being told Richmond wanted to close at the end of September. I was told at the end of the month they had no intention of doing so and the construction crew had until the end of October to finish. My family moved across country and had to live in hotels and Air BnBs paying out of pocket. The garage flooring was left cracked with nails and glue still on it, ice maker in refrigerator still doesn’t work, home wasn’t pressure washed, yard was trashed during irrigation maintenance which still floods my yard. I had to reschedule movers multiple times due to Richmond’s delays. There ...

We were misinformed by the sales agent with an accent on a number of things such as side yard size, HOA fees, if the neighboring houses were already sold, who our neighbors would be, possibility of switching to another lot, how soon the neighborhood will be built out and others. She is a talented lier.

Richmond Homes made what should have been an exciting milestone into a frustrating ordeal. We experienced misleading information during the sales process, lack of quality workmanship, and poor communication throughout. Now, 35 days after closing, we are still waiting on promised items. Overall, the lack of accountability and professionalism overshadowed the excitement of buying our new home. I would not purchase from them again.

Previously 4 new construction homes in my lifetime an Richmond American buying experience is by far the worst!

The buying experience was awful. It took them 15 months to complete our home. we were the first to sign a contract in the neighborhood and Richmond American decided to deliver our home over 9-12 months after other homes were delivered. They totally took advantage of us because we were out of state buyer. I was moving back to my home state after serving in the Navy for 25 plus years and they way Richmond American treated me was shameful. There were months at a time that I did not hear from an agent because there agent turnover was so high. In the 15 months we had about 5 different agents, ...

The sales person told us several things that we would have in our current spec home. Only to find out that none of these things were included and we weren't able to change anything. She quit 3 days after we signed and her replacement pleaded ignorance. I will state the obvious: buyer beware.

After moving into our new Richmond American home, there were a multitude of problems uncovered. We submitted one warranty request for each issue as instructed. There were 15 requests created, and over one month later only 1 request has been addressed. We emailed the sales office, no response. We purchased solar for the home, over one month later solar is still not activated. There was an issue with the county and the property address, at one point there were 4 different mailing addresses for the same property (only 1 being the actual address). A brand-new home and we have had a breaker ...

The Sales Rep we went through was incompetent. Before viewing the home for the first time, we were told the crawl space would be 2 feet high, that our side yard would stretch down to the curb giving us a substantial amount of yard space and that a pool/clubhouse was to be built across the street. Upon actually viewing the home, we discovered the crawl space was only 2 feet high thus making it almost unusable for storage purposes as we had hoped. LIE ONE. But because we appreciated the natural lighting from it being an end unit, the amount of yard space we were to have, in addition to the ...

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Our walk through was not done correctly. There was a few things that were not disclosed when we first looked at the house. Things that need to be fixed before closing werent, the super was no where to be found. The list goes on. The issues that got rolled over havent been fixed ,again super nowhere to be found. Took about 3-4 weeks of me calling around for information and finally got a hold of a gentleman that is now moving things along. My experience with Richmond American Homes was not the best. Our sales agent, Lizett, had significant communication issues regarding our closing and walkthrough dates. Despite her assurances, we frequently had to follow up, which was frustrating. Additionally, her explanations of the buying process were often unclear and misleading, though I believe this was not intentional. She would benefit from training to improve her communication skills and ensure her statements are accurate and clear. Overall, dealing with her felt very challenging. In contrast, the lender provided excellent ...

Decided to buy a ready to move in house that wasn’t ready; Sales rep quit halfway into the buying process; The maker’s lender was extremely incompetent and did not communicate much of anything to me; had to resubmit multiple documents multiple times; lending agent stopped communicating the last few weeks before my expected close date; new lending agent was clueless about the process and had me resubmit documents that were already on file; everything was disorganized and hectic and the process was extremely frustrating…when we moved in, the home had numerous issues to deal with that took ...

During our build there was turnover in some key positions which led to delays, poor communication, and ultimately a disappointing final product. The unnecessary delays led to additional storage and alternative living expenses that added up. The poor communication led to a lack of accountability during the building process, and this became evident when the final product was made available. At closing, the house was incomplete and lacked the level of pride and craftsmanship one would expect for a home in this price range. From large, egregious errors (Example: exhaust vent fan falling out of ...

I was promised $10k towards closing costs if I signed by a certain date and if I used the preferred lender another $9k. Fine print of contract said all of nothing. Sales agent made a promise and did not keep it. The carpet is so thin and bare the carpet tack made my feet bleed. NONE of the shelving was installed into studs, I had to fix it all myself. The pantry shelves were cut too short, and I am still waiting for that to be fixed. The roof pools water on it during storms instead of having the grading set correctly. The garage door strip was cut short so I have mice in the garage. They pressure you to give them all Five Star reviews, they don't deserve them. When we did our walk through, we were told all repairs would be done on a timely manner, which has not been the case. We are going on our third month and we still have several issues, that have not been addressed. I was told by our Sales Rep and Builder to create tickets in the ticketing portal, but this has done nothing to escalate our reported issues. We have talked to our Neighbors and they are also experiencing the same issues with the Builder and Repairs. This is unacceptable in my opinion when purchasing a new home.

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been nothing short of a disaster, and I feel compelled to warn potential buyers. From misleading information to shockingly poor quality and abysmal customer service, this builder has proven to be a master of deception. I had a deeply disappointing experience working with Richmond American Homes and their mortgage services(Home American Mortgage).
