I would not buy from RIchmond. We just recently purchased and unfortunately bought the home before the home was complete. The materials are very cheap and there was no way to change anything before it was put it. We are very disappointed with the purchase and would not buy from Richmond again. The only thing good so far is the yard and the responsiveness to issues.

Flodd Zone Where to even begin...I found out about flood insurance by the finance team that called me to keep me on pace for closing on the home. I was shocked and frustrated that we were a few weeks into the procedure and just finding out about flood zone and insurance required. I vented my frustration over the phone and they asked me. Throughout the building process we were treated as disposable buyers. Our concerns, questions, requests, all fell by the wayside. The project took longer than expected and it was costly for me and my family. At no point, including now, has Richmond reached out in attempt to make things right. Richmond loan officer was very difficult to work with. Had to wait long periods of time to get responses. Total home purchasing took 3.5 months. Would have liked a definite answer. Was asked to get a separate appraisal then it wasn't accepted. Finally Richmond decided to share their appraisal after 3 months of back and forth on purchasing the home.

My experience with Richmond American Homes has been very poor. When I first visited the sales office I was treated nicely and given a tour of some models. I was offered a special offering of 4.99% with 10k of closing costs and 2% of base, when I returned within 24 hours to decide on moving forward the offer was no longer valid (I wish I would've backed out then) They changed the offering to 5.5% with only 5k in closing covered. I accepted and we chose a lot, unfortunately there was a mess up on the construction and the lot we wanted didn't have the upgraded kitchen even though we had already ...

My overall experience with Richmond American Homes was awful. The process with their preferred lender was a headache with repeating step after step of the same thing and resending the same documents once already sent. I have had issues trying to make my first payment because they do not tell you where to go to pay it and I have finally figured it out on my own but then my monthly payment is incorrect from what is on my paperwork. This is the second new build we have purchased and this was by far an inferior experience. Richmond was not willing to work with us throughout the process and treated us like nothing more than a contract. We waited 6 months for this home and when we finally signed they refused to let us select structural upgrades due to other buyers dropping out, even though we had offered to put more money down and had sold our old home and were living in an an apartment. There was no one present for walkthrough or closing. We were alone. We had a great sales associate initially but when she left , the experience became worse. We felt alone and w had to constantly follow up on the process. Items in the home are still not complete. I would not recommend Richmond to anyone.

I don't even know were to start with this....the agent you guys have was one of the worst agents I have encountered, the day I was going to check the home, Myra knew we were coming driving 1hr plus and she did not even have the correct keys, When we arrived there, she just said that she did not have the right keys. So we went for nothing after that. This was a terrible home buying experience. Terrible communication from Dan. Did walk through and most items were not completed at closing. Back yard landscape is extremely poor workmanship. No attention to detail in house. Dark cabinets and they install a white vent cover. No drawers in second bedroom. No place to put a towel bar. In master bathroom. The list goes on. . Hid the fact that we had a 12’ deep easement at the rear yard so back yard is much smaller than expected.

Make sure all sales incentives are reflected correctly prior to closing. Sales team is non-responsive even if matters are included and followed up on in writing with the lender, Gallery, escrow and Sales representatives.
