We bought our brand new home from Richmond American Homes. We are very satisfied with quality of the home, clear communication and quick responses to questions and concerns. Overall, we had an excellent experience with David (construction supervisor), Rob (warranty) and his team, including Steven and Jen (loan officers).Thank you!

Purchased the home last year, purchase was not very efficient because there was to many people involved. A lot of moving parts in the purchase, which was ok but person helping with purchase did not communicate with us. I had to do a lot of follow up calls to find out delays and problems with build. We initially put down 1000 dollars and told we would get the money back, at the end we did not get it back. It was applied to the purchase price which was not part of the purchase. There was so many problems with the in house lender, starting from problems with uploading documents to the portal to the loan being underfunded by $50.00 which I had to pay through a bank transfer and had to pay $35.00 to close on the house. I do like the house, a few issued with the build, one of the windows leaks, the island in the kitchen has to be fixed and a few other issues. Love the neighborhood. ... More

Sales was great, kept us informed along the way. Construction was also great, even explained the progress when we dropped by once in a while. Title was very efficient. But the Lender was a bit more difficult. At one point our income was not completely documented after we had provided all the asked for info several times. This almost caused us to fall out… last minute! After we had sold our previous home and moved to temporary housing. The processor finally got it all straightened out and we closed on schedule.

My sales person Anthony was great! Followed up very well with my questions and paperwork. The superintendent Brian has been very helpful. However, the title company dropped the ball, very delayed forms, I only had 2 days. Big rush.

Weekly status updates of the our home construction with pictures from Graham was great and very helpful.

We had a good experience with our sales rep Betty from when we first met her. This made us proceed with the purchase of our home. We were told from the start that it would take 6-8 months to build & complete our home to which we were okay with. We finally moved into our home & after a few days of unpacking, decorating our new home, & having to finally get familiarized with everything, we noticed many things to which it looked like the builder/contractors rushed on installing. We have submitted a few warranty tickets already (Paul has been fantastic) but it is upsetting & ridiculous. I understand a new build home is not and will not be 100% perfect but considering that I’m paying almost $600k for a new build home, I expect the house to have proper installation on certain things. I should be able to move in and not have to worry about submitting a warranty ticket for such and such & waste my time or the contractors time to come out & fix the issue when it could’ve been installed properly the first time. I had to fix some improper installation myself & this is unacceptable. It makes us wonder about the quality of the house and how long it will really last. We love our house, the layout of it, & the staff we had made contact with along the way but we had wish for a better move-in experience, especially with a new build home. ... More

Half day home gallery selections. Need to make many decisions involving thousands of dollars in upgrades the same day. Absolutely no changes were allowed after the selection was done. I had asked for extra insulation bw floor after selection which was not honoured. The agent was rude and blunt. The use the signed contract when asked for any changes to prove their inflexibility. The attitude of sales agents change based on demand for the community. Their lender was subpar and could not even close my jumbo loan. They are probly ok for conventional loan. Everyone I worked with was so friendly and helpful. I loved the entire experience. Would defienetly go with Richmond Homes again, but I don't think I'll ever want to part with the home we just got. I loved getting the weekly updates with pictures showing what was completed each week throughout the building process.

Baseboards aren’t straight, tile squares don’t line up, inside is horribly painted( paid 4k extra for that), granite countertops have paint all over them. Brand new carpets stained from workers. Cabinets are falling apart( again paid 6k extra for those) no hot water presssure in the shower. I could go on for days with the things wrong with this house. After paying almost a half a million dollars I expected my house to be in new condition. Would never recommend anybody to buy from Richmond American

Cindy DeValle may the whole experience great without the purchase would have never happened John made walk through easy. The old saying you get what you pay for. I think quality on products in house could be better than what you represent in retail numbers you have a huge buying power for your products. Also your 24 hour policy is terrible with closing escrow arranging move un your expected to get problems reported and then you say it takes 10 days to schedule for problem to get resolve. Jennifer is great at getting problems done. Except you only had 24 hours to report. If you asked would I buy this home again I would honestly say NO. That came with finishes picked and no offer to change anything cost me a lot to make my home . Please better quality quartz that’s the biggest thing for me the quality of the workmanship mainly rough edges can’t be address because I noticed past the 24 hours. Plus had crushed ducting if it weren’t for hiring electrician to wire my spa would have never known it has been resolved took 3 weeks since filing an issue. ... More

Last week was a push and we ended up with a mess!! Very disappointed.

I’d like to let Richmond know this will be my last time buying a Richmond home. Although Sonja was an excellent representative for the company as her character always shined when we were around and continues to shine now if we need anything. She is really top notch!! Tim our superintendent was awesome and took care of us and still handles anything we need. My complaint or concerns are with the Richmond finance team. When I first walked through the doors, Richmond extended some offers if my family and I were to use Richmond finance and purchase before a certain month. Well my wife and I fell in love with the sapphire home. We had private financing already but we chose to use Richmond financing due to the incentives. I was pre approved and we were in our way. Then I get a call from the finance team saying Richmond can no longer move forward with my loan. This was unfortunate because Richmond also pulled all the incentives and 17k in closing costs that they were offering. What a swing of emotions, financials and trust Richmond displayed. My wife and I still decided to move forward with the home. My family and I lost out on heat incentives and 17k of closing all because Richmond put their needs above the customers needs. Never again!!! If it wasn’t for the amazing customer service Sonja and Tim had displayed throughout the build, my family and I would’ve taken our business elsewhere!!! I’m sorry Richmond you missed the opportunity to get all five stars due to your finance team and your company’s unwillingness to meet a customer’s expectations of everything I had heard about Richmond American Homes! Yale our super was amazing, our warrenty rep James is awesome. Brenda our underwriter is great! Everything was awesome!

If you don’t do any upgrades the quality of material used is very cheap. A lot of simple mistakes are made. Seems like they rush through the process of building these houses. In our experience we had a leak, excess foundation, solar panel box put on wrong, flooring was scratched, carpet was lumpy and you could see the seems, breakers tripping and paint that needed to be redone. They give you a matte finish which scratches and stains very easily. Overall I am happy with my home, just wish everything was done right from the start. It’s a hassle trying to get all these issues fixed while moving in and getting acclimated to your new home. ... More

We love our new home, it was a great experience working with the sales team. They ensured we were updated along the way and we were able to watch our new home being built from the ground up. The quality of the home is excellent I would certainly recommend Richmond American to anyone looking for a new build.

My experience wasn't a good one.

My house looks like a show place.

We were told to sign and close escrow, even though the house was not finished. We were promised items on our walk through list would be repaired and finished before closing. Nothing was fixed, we’re three month in. Made two mortgage payments and the repairs are still not done. All our bathroom light fixtures were broken or damaged. Our dryer was damaged, we were told that it was all set up for us to call GE Cares. Called GE Cares. They had no record of our house even having GE appliances. I understand there are many other houses that also need attention. The construction of the house really isn’t that high quality. Its craftsmanship was very poor and rushed. We had a bow in our family room wall. A dry wall specialist said it wasn’t his fault. It was plumbing and left. I would not recommend buying a Richmond Home. ... More

we love the city, the community, and the housing styles and brevarde. love our location but the home, the finishing, was rushed too much.. so many things are defective or not done correctly. a few major items also. some are very very negligent that should never have occured unless the team wasn't caring or paying attention. very unprofessional in the finishing items both inside and out. very difficult process to get corrected

Took 8 months from contract to move-in due to multiple delays. Simple punch list items and warranty items still outstanding 3 months after move-in. Unable to commit to when included landscaping will be done. Superintendent is overwhelmed. In-house financing was executed poorly and closing was unprofessional.

GET EVERYTHING DONE BEFORE CLOSING, even punch list items that they promise will get done asap because even these have been an absolute pain in the rear to get taken care of. And you think that's hard, warranty is absolute garbage, you have to get the top manager involved or you won't be getting a response. I wish we had not rushed final closing, and delayed closing like some of our neighbors did, because we are over a month from when we closed and are still waiting for punch list items to be finished. At this point we're about to start opening up complaints in an effort to get people to move their butts. ... More

The experience was the worst

Poor responsiveness to issues. Disorganization and lack of commitment to provide good service. Outstanding service items from initial walk through left with no follow through, and I’ve been in the home for 3 months. I have reached out to corporate, left messages and sent emails to sales, with no response. This is my second Richmond American home and the worst follow through in service I have ever experiences. I still have tape throughout the house’s interior and exterior from the first walk through, squeaky floors on the second level, items have gone ignored in my warranty requests. Grant was great. Mike was horrible.

My initial closing and delivery of our new home was disappointing however Dawn B. in the warranty department has turned things around and resolved many of the problems with professionalism, promptness and knowledge of new build issues.
