The quality of my new richmond america home is very disappointing. There were many, many issues during my initial walk thru before closing. Some major as the oven would not work without tripping the breaker. Since I would not sign off`on the home as is, the scheduled a final walk through 7 days later and said all issues would be taken care of. On my final walk through, only have of the items were fixed. I signed off only because I already gave my notice to move out but in reality I was wishing I wasn't in contract on this home. Since move in, there have been various issues found. Every ...

Carrie was great to work with. Tim the foreman was absolutely horrible. Several months of delays, we kept getting lied to about the how much longer. Tim knows what stage they were at but kept making it sound like not much longer. Then when we had the walkthrough Tim just kept saying "well that's the way it is". We had a massive water leak upstairs within two weeks of moving in on an issue both our inspector and us brought up to Tim. Our flooring downstairs is not level due to the subfloor. Our walls/trim were horribly painted. Grass the the front yard is very patchy and mostly dead ...

The sales agent Dan was extremely helpful, communicative, and accessible during the pre-purchase process. Once I signed the contract, that completely changed. He took multiple days to respond to questions and didn’t come to the blue tape walkthrough. The construction team at the blue tape walkthrough was an assistant and a guy that was here for a week. The assistant left 30 minutes into the walk because he had a doctors appointment and was unaware of the walkthrough until the morning of. This left me asking questions 5 days from closing that couldn’t be answered by the guy there for a week, ...

While the layouts of these homes are appealing, that’s about where the value ends. The construction includes the absolute bare minimum of items, and what is included is often installed poorly. Be prepared to make numerous warranty claims, which can take anywhere from days to months to get resolved. You'll need to budget extra for essentials like additional cabinetry, garage door motors, ceiling fans, a fence, a screen for the lanai, blinds, and much more. The carpet was installed with builder-grade padding, and the flooring is disappointingly curvy and bumpy. I’ve also noticed exposed ...

Sale Dept Great, Designer Ctr Great, Mortgage Company Great, Insurance Co Great but Construction Dept is lacking Pride and Supervision or actucally there is none and when you send emails you get no reply back and I not even sure they read them because nothing is completed or communicated back to you. Had recommended 2 friends and have gone back to them to express my disappointment and wish I had not referred them due to the construction department. Its just sad and heard from my New Neighbors they have had the same experience.

They will over promise and under deliver. Everything was a quick fix during the walk around but they waited a month after closing and my consistent follow up to start making repairs that were supposed to be done prior to closing and then postponed by the builder to the week after closing. To name a few: -water hoses in the washer are cross connected -unable to use a broken tub for a month now and builder is MIA. -they show you better quality appliances and then go with the cheapest. -a door doesn't latch - ceiling was not properly painted -floor has stains -house wasn't ...

My move in date was changed first "by mistake". Then a second time was changed 10 minutes before end of day, the day before with no notice provided to me. When I finally did move in there was no walk through and several items were not finished, to include; issues with both showers no range installed, and several leaks. Since then superintendents have been rude, cussed at me, and been generally non responsive.

My husband and I bought our first home in March and just to sum up our experience I’ll write a small review for now. from the beginning our experience was less than favorable, our sales agent did not know how to handle any questions we had. Our home also did not come with blinds, fans, and bonus we got a broken front window that had been there since October and we moved in March 25th. Overall I can’t recommend this builder, in-spite of our repeated efforts to connect with the sales agent manager and work with someone else we were not assisted. If you enjoy being overpromised, undelivered, completely ignored and overall frustrated for over 6 months straight to only find yourself living in an unfinished, overpriced, cheaply built home… then you’ll LOVE Richmond American Homes. My overall experience with Richmond American Homes was a very disappointing process. I've had various issues with repairs and currently still need some touch up work done after being moved into my home for over a month. I was constantly told to input claims and after doing so multiple times on the same issues I would never get a response. I've had to be the one to make phone calls and get numbers to higher ups to make sure things would get done. I felt like I was doing the jobs of others and it was ultimately a huge inconvenience. I also had zero communication with my sales agent. When I ...

This is my fourth time buying a home, and it has easily been the most difficult, stressful, and complicated experience I have ever gone through. From dealing with the lender at closing to finally getting the keys, nothing has gone smoothly. I could have handled some bumps in the road, but this has been absolutely unbearable. Now, I am struggling to get warranty issues addressed. Before this, I had only heard positive things about Richmond Homes, but my experience has been far from what I was expecting. I truly regret choosing to purchase from Richmond.

Listing out all the issues and horrible customer service we experienced would do nothing for anyone. So, save yourself the time and heartache and DO NOT BUY A RICHMOND AMERICAN HOME. Buying a home is supposed to be an exciting milestone, a dream come true. Unfortunately, my experience with Richmond Homes turned out to be the biggest regret of my life. From start to finish, the process was riddled with frustration, disappointment, and regret. The pressure during negotiations was unbearable. Richmond played games with concessions and demanded an exorbitant amount of earnest money, clearly designed to lock me into the deal. It felt manipulative and left me feeling cornered, rather than confident in the decision I was making. When it came time to inspect the home, it ...

For any new buyer, please make sure every conversation you have had to put it in writing, monitor and follow up. We were given the key of the house, that was not fully ready, filthy and missing items ( mirror, bathroom glass, window glass - FILTHY FLOORS). We had owned three houses, and this by far was the worst transition ever. PM on the community needs to learn how to communicate with owners on status of request.
